Blondie-Wan Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Nobody else has any reaction to this not being available in Italy Well, I'm not in Italy, but... that is strange. Do we know for sure it won't be available in Italy? If so, why not? Quote
Robert8 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 It looks like LEGO Movie 2 to me. I think that is the Cloud Cuckoo Land level Quote
SuperGeniusCreator Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Yeah, don't think there'll be a sandbox mode. I hope there is one, because the ability to play and interact with custom Lego sandbox worlds is something we haven't seen since Lego Universe. If they had a sandbox, I'd hope they would have some sort of ineractive toys/bricks/blocks like Infinity's Creativi-Toys and Minecraft's Redstone. Quote
Master_Data Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Why are Batman, Emmet, Legolas, and Marty floating? Seems like they recorded a glitch. Quote
Savage Oppress Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 It's kinda weird how Lego Dimensions isn't coming out till September 2015 and it has gotten more advertising than Lego Jurassic World, which is coming out in June 2015. Quote

Why would that be weird? Jurassic World has a movie tie in plus sets and other merchandise. Where as Dimensions is a whole new system that relies solely on direct advertisement at this point.. I would also hazard a guess TLG would view dimensions as a great bit more important. Quote

Where are you seeing ads for it? All I've seen is the early version of the site, with the basic info, but no ads anywhere. Are you talking about retailer listings, perhaps? Or journalistic coverage? That, but there has also been so much hype about it within the LEGO and toys-to-life communities. I don't think they've released any new content (besides those screenshots posted here). Quote
Dorayaki Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 (edited) It looks like LEGO Movie 2 to me. Hope not, because that's gonna ensure my absense in the theater (sorry if this sounds harsh). I expect a bigger change of the core team next time.Yes, this pic looks abit floaty.... Edited May 2, 2015 by Dorayaki Quote

The Cobra Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Nobody else has any reaction to this not being available in Italy I'm from Italy. I still don't exactly understand what Dimensions (or "game to life") exactly is, nor have I interest in understanding. I don't own a console. I would NEVER spend 100 Euros on it. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Well, wow. I am still somewhat skeptical about Portal, as in Portal the video game franchise, since "Portal" in this context could still refer to something else - the very base game here includes a portal, after all, and portals of one sort or another turn up in various other LEGO themes and in franchises upon which various themes are based. But it certainly does lend additional support to the idea. Legends of Chima, Jurassic World and Scooby-Doo are expected, of course, but it's nice to have some confirmation. But what is up with those prices? Quote
legofanatic12 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 The minifigure for the Simpsons level pack will be just Homer, but Bart and Krusty the Clown could be either in a single fun pack or a team pack? Quote
Oky Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Wow, I couldn't believe we'd actually get Portal since it's such a random license (and I still have my doubts) but this pretty much seems to confirm it. Which is awesome! I wonder if the level will actually have the portal gameplay? And if so, will Valve be involved somehow? I really hope the cake isn't a lie in this case. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 My major pipe dream fantasy for the game is that they began working on it sometime from 2011 to 2012 (which would make sense, as that would be when Skylanders created the whole "toys to life" genre), and just prior to Lucasfilm's acquisition by Disney the game's makers obtained a license from Lucasfilm to incorporate their characters (as happened with the last-minute deal to put Star Wars characters in The LEGO Movie), so we could get Star Wars and Indiana Jones characters in the game despite Disney's ownership. Not that I seriously expect that to be the case, of course; it's just nice to dream about. Quote

Suppose that the whole things do relate to the marketing research between video game fanbase and Idea's votes, it makes sense and the "Portal" could be in that meaning. If not, this means nothing for fans of both franchise. Edited May 3, 2015 by Dorayaki Quote

But of course, this is just getting more controversial. It's possible the CUUSOO project was rejected for some other reason entirely, but it could also be that this game was already in the works with the Portal license already attached, and the fan project unfortunately conflicted with license terms already in place. If not, this means nothing for fans of both franchise. From what I understand, it's widely anticipated Star Wars will be added to Disney Infinity later this year (with a 3.0 edition of the game), but I don't know if that's been confirmed anywhere. I do expect it to happen, though, and that neither that franchise nor its younger whip-cracking sibling will be in LEGO Dimensions for that reason. Speaking as someone who adores Star Wars, Indiana Jones and LEGO, I'd obviously like to think that wasn't the case, but oh, well. LEGO Dimensions still will have not only plenty of cool franchises, but also hands-down the best toys out of all these games, simply because they're LEGO. And hey, look at all the themes and series we do (probably) have: NinjaGo Legends of Chima The LEGO Movie Back to the Future DC Comics Doctor Who Ghostbusters Jurassic Park Middle-Earth Portal Scooby-Doo The Simpsons The Wizard of Oz Not too shabby, if you ask me. I will admit none of these mean quite as much to me personally as the two Lucasfilm properties that have been LEGO themes, but a few of them come close, and I can always enjoy LEGO anything. legofanatic12 Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 (edited) We can might to see the Lone Ranger and Tonto (from the 1949 TV series, not the 2013 Disney film) or the Conductor from The Polar Express. NinjaGo Legends of Chima The LEGO Movie Back to the Future DC Comics Doctor Who Ghostbusters Jurassic Park Middle-Earth Portal Scooby-Doo The Simpsons The Wizard of Oz If the Yeti from Series 11 will be in this game, maybe this is possible to feature Minifigures series. It could be abit too coicnident for Ideas/Cuusoo to hit all the potential LEGO licenses. Beside, Dimension packs haven't ensured other regular sets so far, so it's probably the least possible, or the worst reason for rejection. As for SW, it was the very first LEGO license and it's hirstoricall meaningful, so I'm sure some of us would regard SW as a must-have being in LEGO licensed roster especially when so many licenses involve in this game. About the current roster, as said, despite how appealing the newly-attractive licenses are, I don't feel quite happy about the low proportion of LEGO's original characters. It's kinda against how much LEGO tried to advertise their own media works to compete with other toy brands so far. The exclusive licenses would be tricky for traditional LEGO fans. Of course, a pack would ensure at least one figure and some physical bricks, but in the reverse aspect, their existence is still not stronger than those regular themes. It obviously relies on the fanbase of the licenses more than older FOLs. Edited May 3, 2015 by Dorayaki Quote
