Local Knowledge Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I'm assuming the HP level pack is probably Fantastic Beasts? I mean, that'd make more sense if Harry's in a team pack. That makes sense. However if there's a level pack from Harry Potter, maybe we get Dumbledore? They didn't have the voices from the films though. I don't begrudge Adventure Time getting a level pack (it's great for fans of that show) but I just wish Harry Potter was getting the same treatment. I'd like to see how Traveller's Tales would approach a Harry Potter level now compared to when the last game came out. I agree with you my friend. Harry Potter is the only franchise that had games before but never with voice-acting, after that there never was audio in a LEGO HP game, until now of course. Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 That makes sense. However if there's a level pack from Harry Potter, maybe we get Dumbledore? It would seem odd, unless they go for a level pack based on Order of the Phoenix (where Dumbledore fights Voldemort rather than Harry). Quote
Borex Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Wow, this is stupid. Why does Adventure Time get a level pack with presumably its main character and not Harry Potter? You mean why doesnt get hp a level pack just like av? Quote
Ashnflash Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 There were more games than just Harry Potter without voices... And you still have not seen all the packs so there still could be a level pack you just need to wait and see Quote

SandMirror38 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 So, any chance of more Lotr / Middle Earth? I bloody hope so I still need at least Faramir and Eoywn Quote
Starscream759 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 OH MY GOD ADVENTURE TIME! MR T! AND HARRY POTTER! HELLS YEAH! I am so looking forward to those packs and I'm so getting them! Mission Impossible? Eh...I've seen a few of the new movies but it's not really gaining an interest from me but might be interesting. As for the Ghostbusters Reboot Story Level? I doubt I'll get that one and imagine with something like that story level it's gonna cost over 50 quid. But still 3 out of 5 is not all that bad for me right? Quote
Metanoios Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Regarding the rumour of Supergirl being distributed through some kind of new Starter Pack: Has anyone else got the idea that it might be a similar (story) pack like the 71242 (Rebooted) Ghostbuster Story pack? If it contains a DC inspired build (just like Zhu's Chinese Restaurant in the Ghostbuster's one), someone might have easily mistaken it for being a starter pack, but it might be just an extension with an original DC story or even a playable level of the LEGO DC Movies like Cosmic Clash etc. Maybe the Connectables are just different connectable dioramas from known licenses with additional gaming content and figures... More expensive than standard Level Packs, while offering more in-game content. One of the Connectables could be a Harry Potter Story Pack, containing a Hogwarts diorama and multiple Harry Potter levels (e.g. one for each year) Edited June 9, 2016 by Metanoios91 Quote
TheLEGOChap Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 At the moment 6 packs have been leaked, for wave 1 they released 20 packs so I cannot wait to see the rest of the packs! Quote
temes Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 The original posted image has disappeared from CMS's post so I thought I'd repost it: Really weird that we get to play the complete movie. Why not make it a separate game? One movie storyline probably isn't enough to make a full separate game and this reboot is probably too risky to put full effort in creating brand new additional story and scene content (like SW7). Jbricks Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Wow, a Tom Cruise minifigure? Weird that he has gloves in the art, but flesh hands in reality. Quote

Duncan Young Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Really interested in this battle arena mechanic. Really glad with Harry Potter as well as Mr T for the novelty. Hope the Harry Potter adventure world looks 'complete' unlike others... Quote
larsy Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I just noticed there are not in-house themes in this wave Is too soon for Nexo Knights? What are the chances of seeing more old themes revived for this, like Harry Potter? Like Monster Fighters or such? They should bring back orient expedition for Lego dimensions or some other classic themes. Some of the stuff the old Lego games from 2000 were based on. To be fair this second Lego someone doesn't really appeal to me. As far as hs been revealed I only really like harry potter, the rest I've never watched. The figures and builds look really good tho Quote
Tariq j Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 The HP set looks good, not too sure why they've gone for that particular hairpiece though. Quote

The Supergirl could be in one of three. I can see it; Green Arrow, Supergirl, Flash and the Atom In a TVSHOW box. Like levels from tn shows. Quote

True. They could have included the 1984 Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 as well for a full-fledged game though. Really interested in this battle arena mechanic. Really glad with Harry Potter as well as Mr T for the novelty. Hope the Harry Potter adventure world looks 'complete' unlike others... I'm guessing whatever the 'battle arena' is, it will involve wizarding duels in the Harry Potter Adventure World. Imagine being able to duel the Doctor. Sonic Screwdriver VS Wand! I don't know how a Story Pack would work without Harry Potter though, unless they include a variation of the Harry Potter NFC minifigure (for example, Harry Potter in his Quidditch uniform). Quote

CM4Sci Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 A new wave of collectibles is on the way to help bolster the “toys to life” video games market. The multiplatform video game Lego Dimensions will roll out a fresh set of characters starting September 27, including The new Ghostbusters, Harry Potter and The A-Team, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed Thursday. The new characters -- joining the current roster which includes Batman and Scooby-Doo -- will hit stores as separate game packs tied to the main Dimensions game available since last September for multiple platforms including PlayStation and Xbox. “It’s been a very important expansion to our business,” says WBIE President David Haddad during an interview with USA TODAY. The unveiling of Warner Bros.’ latest Lego expansion follows Activision detailing the next chapter of the franchise Skylanders, the pioneer in the “toys to life” genre, a series of games that combine physical figurines players can purchase and transport into the game through a special portal accessory. Concerns over the market’s viability have started to surface for the first time since Skylanders launched nearly five years ago. In a surprise move last month, Disney revealed it was shutting down its “toys-to-life” brand Disney Infinity, featuring characters from Disney, Marvel and Star Wars. Between Infinity’s departure and lower sales for Skylanders over the last two years, Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olsen foresees a slowdown in the market could arrive soon. “It may have hit its peak.” To date, Warner Bros. has sold more than 165 million Lego games, between Dimensions and a series of standalone titles featuring franchises such as Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. Although the company did not disclose sales figures specifically for Dimensions, Haddad says it remains a big part of their business. “We continue to view it as a very important and sizable market and one that we and our partner Lego should be participating in,” says Haddad. Other franchises featured in the upcoming expansion include Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, Adventure Time, Goonies and Gremlins. Each franchise will launch as its own separate expansion pack. The expansion also introduces Battle Arenas, a competitive game mode where up to four players brawl in a series of matches like Capture The Flag. “We want more people to be able to play together,” says Jonathan Smith, head of production at Dimensions developer TT Games. “When you get toys together, we keep thinking of more fun ways to (play) with them the way you would in your bedroom.” The success of Skylanders in 2011 spurred multiple, annual follow-ups, as well as competitors in Dimensions, Disney Infinity and Nintendo’s amiibo. According to NPD Group, overall U.S. sales in the interactive gaming toys sector in 2015 reached $720.5 million, up 7% from the previous year. NPD analyst Liam Callahan says while “there’s health in the market,” the lack of a new Disney Infinity experience this holiday will drive toys-to-life sales down this year. “It’s a big hole to fill.” Expect games like Skylanders and Dimensions to pick up some of that share, says Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter. “Those two benefit more this holiday than the first 10 months of the year,” he says, noting the last release of Infinity toys arrives this month. Instead of launching a new game every year, Dimensions will supplement 2015’s game with a host of brand expansions. The game will boast 30 entertainment properties once this expansion rolls out, and Smith says the studio is exploring plans for future releases. “We’re incredibly lucky because Lego can be anything and anything can be Lego.” Quote
FrankyCentaur Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Holy cow, we're getting 16 (SIXTEEN) new IPs for Phase 2? This is nuts. 1) Harry Potter 2) Fantastic Beasts 3) Adventure Time 4) Powerpuff Girls 5) A-Team 6) Gremlins 7) Mission Impossible 8) Knight Rider 9) Goonies 10) ET 11) Sonic 12) Ghostbusters 13) Teen Titans Go 14) 15) 16) Edit: Thanks Puffle Pal26 for TTG.
