the fixer Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Looking forward to The Goonies, Gremlins, A-Team, E.T. and Knight Rider. (Does it show I grew up in the eighties?) :) Actually, I remember proposing The Goonies and Gremlins as possible franchises on the LEGO Dimensions forum shortly after the original game came out. :D I wonder how many Goonies figures we'll be getting... I guess they can't do ALL of the Goonies but I hope we'll get more than just the one Sloth figure... Quote
TheLEGOChap Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I've never watched Adventure Time before but I will definitely be picking both packs up, the figs and builds are so interesting to me. Also, there's our Raven fig on the left, not sure how I feel about that https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ckgzm6SXIAAE418.jpg:large Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 It's sadly Raven From TTG. And I am sure we will get big set with Raven next year as they have pieces to make normal fig. On this pic you can see Spike too! Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Wow, so much amazingness here! I'm glad to see so many new franchises and properties being added. Some of them are really surprising - I certainly wouldn't have expected Beetlejuice, but it's welcome addition. I'm also very glad to see LEGO's homegrown themes aren't being completely ignored, and from what I hear, LEGO City Undercover is a fantastic game. Now let's hope for more.im tremendously excited for Gremlins, Adventure Time, and some of these others. Now, if only I can get the game (and a console to run it on)! What irks me the most about so many of these packs is that they borrow from failed Ideas campaigns quite blatantly. Noticeably the Adventure Time packs- the minifigures looks just like the ones from Jazlecraz's project. They actually don't; the figures here actually do use new molds, whereas the final version of the CUUSOO project fudged the look as well as possible using existing parts (and did a great job, admittedly), but it's possible the licensor stipulated that only new, character-specific molds could be used to represent them. More importantly, though, those figures weren't the core of the project; they weren't even necessarily essential to it. The project was for the treehouse - that's what that project was about, and what its supporters voted for. And LEGO hasn't made that... just these character figures, which are totally different from that, connected only in being from the same world / franchise. The CUUSOO project didn't give its creator blanket rights and credit for every single Adventure Time thing LEGO might ever want to make, only that one single idea - a set of the treehouse at that size & piece count. Also, it was a while ago that that project was declined; any number of things might have changed since then. Perhaps now, they would even be willing to do a set of the treehouse. But they didn't approve it then; perhaps they couldn't. For all we know, the rightsholder might have mixed it because some other toy company might have held the construction toy rights at that time and just not done anything with them (this does actually happen). And finally, even if we were treating every property that Ideas users propose as something they're rightfully entitled to and that LEGO shouldn't do in LEGO Dimensions unless they also do at least one Ideas set based on the fan submission(s), the fact is they have approved an Adventure Time set already, just not that one. There is a fan who is getting an official LEGO Ideas Adventure Time set made, for which he/she will get credit and royalties; it's just not that one. Quote
Ordinareo Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I think like with Scooby Doo, Power Puff Girls will be based on the classic series. Quote

Numbuh1Nerd Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Clearly they'll be revisiting old IPs, we're getting Green Arrow and Supergirl, remember? That's more DC, and they wouldn't just do DC. Quote
TheLEGOChap Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Anyone know what the biplane on the right is from? The pirate ship is Goonies I assume. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ckgzm6SXIAAE418.jpg:large Quote
Lego4366 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I think Indiana jones and batman v superman packs are a real possibility given the other new releases Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I think like with Scooby Doo, Power Puff Girls will be based on the classic series. I highly doubt that. Scooby Doo is a lot more culturally relevant and has had a dozen different versions, which makes the classic one the clearest choice. PPG has had two, and one of them is currently airing and getting heavy marketing and merchandising. It's definitely the new Powerpuff Girls. Besides, if they were going to go classic on anything, I'd hope it would be Teen Titans. There's a much bigger difference between Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go than there is between the old and new Powerpuff Girls. Speaking of, I'm not crazy about the TTG minifigures. They remind me a lot of the Mighty Micros, honestly. I'm praying that, like the rest of the Titans, we'll be getting a more traditional version of Raven in a set soon. Definitely gonna have to get those Jokerland minifigs now, too.. I think Indiana jones and batman v superman packs are a real possibility given the other new releases I don't know about BvS, but I'm honestly really surprised that Indiana Jones hasn't made it yet. Maybe once that new movie gets going? Or maybe it's still caught in the dust of the Disney Infinity collapse, given it IS a Disney property now? I'd love to get a new crack at Indy, and he'd fit right into this lineup. Anyone know what the biplane on the right is from? The pirate ship is Goonies I assume. https://pbs.twimg.co...AE418.jpg:large Fantastic Beasts maybe? I think that's the right time period for that. I just noticed that in the trailer Finn has light blue hips? That doesn't match up with the figure, thank god, but there's a little error for ya Quote
Nerd-with-a-Pencil Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Anyone know what the biplane on the right is from? The pirate ship is Goonies I assume. https://pbs.twimg.co...AE418.jpg:large I'm guessing Tails' "tornado" biplane from Sonic. Quote
Rookie875 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Adventure Time packs look awesome! Does Finn have legs mounded in 3 different colors or is that just printing? Quote
Kraby Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 https://pbs.twimg.co...AE418.jpg:large Who is this between Harry and Guizmo? And from what IP is he? Quote
TheLEGOChap Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Who is this between Harry and Guizmo? And from what IP is he? It's Vortech from the story of the game I'm guessing Tails' "tornado" biplane from Sonic. It certainly looks like it could be that, hopefully we get a Tails fig! Quote
Starscream759 Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Okay here are the franchises that I'll go after: The A-Team, Gremlins, Harry Potter, Adventure Time and maybe the Goonies. That's quite a lot of characters I want from this wave. Quote
DuckBricks Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Wow! What a lineup! Bit disappointed that there's no more in-house themes except City Undercover, but this is a great lineup. I'm most surprised about Beetlejuice, as I never imagined it to be a kid-friendly property, especially nowadays as very few kids know about it, but I guess that's why we are here :) Quote
Dizstractzhun Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 There was a Beetlejuice cartoon that used to be on Saturday mornings in the UK. I will be gutted if Mr T, when put into a plane, refuses and says something about not flying to the camera due to B A hating to fly in the A Team. Quote
Kintobor Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 I'm guessing Tails' "tornado" biplane from Sonic. That definitely looks like the Tornado. It'd make for an excellent, and relatively well know vehicle for the Sonic set. Do we know if the set's a fun pack or a level pack? Also, it looks like both Gizmo and Spike are getting minifigures, so I'd assume they're in a team pack. Quote
TheLEGOChap Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Anyone else think that Dimensions has changed TT Games' way of thinking when it comes to games? for example the LEGO Batman Movie could've easily been made into its own game like the LEGO movie. I feel like we will be getting a lot more story packs for Dimensions instead of full fledged games. Quote
Kintobor Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Oh, wait, hold on, I forgot to gush over Sonic's figure, let me warm up first... HE'S THE FASTEST THING ALIIIIIVEEE!!!!! Quote
npgcole Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Man, I don't see enough movies. I'm unfamiliar with most of the franchises that were announced. But LEGO City Undercover! I've been wanting that since the beginning! Hope it's a Level Pack that continues from the first game! Would love to see physical minifigures of Rex, Natalia, Frank, or Dunby! Quote
