Nintendo aren't as reluctant to have their IPs appear on non-Nintendo devices anymore. The Miis in the Miitomo mobile app, for example.

there's a pretty big difference between nintendo putting their IP on a neutral platform (i.e. mobile) and on a competitor's platform (i.e. xbox & ps4)

Do we know the waves and when they'll be hitting the stores?

Also are there pics yet of knight rider and beetlejuice? And a better one of et?

End of September and no pictures of those yet. I'm sure E3 will reveal the rest.

It's hardly like we're talking about Nintendo releasing a whole new game for rival consoles though. I don't think they would be opposed to Mario in LEGO Dimensions.

Oh, what I mean is that Abby Yates in the story pack unlocks Jillian Holtzmann alongside Patty and Erin.

That then raises the question of where we'll be getting a second Jillian fig. When the pictures of the new Ecto-1 set were revealed on social media, one of the pictures showed a Jillian Holtzmann figure that is different than the one that comes with that set (with a second torso design and a third face design). A lot of people had been speculating that the "extra" Jillian minifigure might be included in a LEGO Dimensions pack.

For reference's sake: Ecto-1 Jillian with utility belt and expression 1 (no glasses or goggles), Ecto-1 Jillian with utility belt and expression 2 (goggles), different Jillian with no utility belt and expression 3 (glasses).

I think Skylanders and Minecraft are the precedents in this case. Yeah, Nintendo has characters in Skylanders, but they aren't playable on non-Nintendo systems. Minecraft has an official Mario texture pack and world...exclusively for the Wii U edition. Nintendo is branching out with their licenses, but they aren't branching out into other trees. If they can find some way to make an exclusive Mario figure/Amiibo, maybe.

And doesn't Nintendo have a contract with another company for building sets? I think there were K'Nex Mario sets not too long ago..

I always took it that both Jillians come with the Ecto-1 and Ecto-2 set. I can't imagine that they would accidentally and prematurely reveal a Dimensions Jillian figure.

LEGO is significantly bigger than Skylanders or Minecraft though and having LEGO Nintendo characters playable on the PS4 is not going to stop people buying a Nintendo console, given that they are playing as LEGO minifigure versions of their characters rather than a 100% accurate representation of Mario and company.

Ooo, I forgot about that! What I wish they would do, and what this might indicate, is that they'd make physical figures out of the other Ghostbusters and the Doctors and any other character with a similar ability that run on the same or similar base to the released ones and make them into Fun Packs. Minifig folk get their figures, the broke ones get their Ghostbusters and Doctors, and the rest of us have an easier time getting the whole team together in the game! Plus it'd be relatively cheap and easy to produce, essentially making extra cash with little to no coding involved.

Maybe it's just a spare head in the set, like Captain Marvel's mask?

If you haven't noticed, Nintendo's not been doing too hot lately. The Wii U was a huge financial failure, and even their foray into mobile hasn't been too great so far, with Miitomo basically disappearing from the public consciousness after week. They'll survive, sure, but in a time of corporate struggle like this, letting characters they've so famously protected for decades appear on other consoles could easily be construed as a sign of weakness and doubt. Besides, it's not like Microsoft lets Halo out of their sight. Everybody wants their IPs to stay exclusive. Once you can get your Zelda fix from someone else, whether Nintendo's getting a cut or not, they're staring down the barrel. Exclusive, beloved IPs are how they stay competitive, because they're always more risky with hardware, which has scared off third party developers.

So yeah, Nintendo is tremendously unlikely. Let's get real though: they got Midway Arcade. I didn't even know who they were outside of one or two cheap machines that rotate through my local pizza joints, and none of those games are represented here. If they were gonna get Nintendo, it would've been when they were shopping around for retro game licenses, but no, not even Atari wanted in on that. There's no way in hell that Midway was their first pick.

That then, oops.

I think these are the packs we don't know for sure yet, so I will post my personal guesses!

71243 - Hermione Fun Pack with Time Turner

71249 - Either another A-Team pack or a 3rd Adventure Time pack

71250 - Team Pack with Jillian Holtzmann and Rowan's Ghost

71252 - Level Pack with Michael Knight and KITT

71253 - Fantastic Beasts Story Pack with Newt and Ilvermorny Starter Pack add-on

71257 - Fun Pack with Tina Goldstein

I doubt her gadget will be a time-turner, since that's...not much of a build. Not without it being wildly inaccurate in size.

AT3 definitely means a third Adventure Time pack. They wouldn't change the abbreviation like that.

Perhaps, but we still haven't seen Chris Hemsworth's character, I'd say he has to show up sooner than later.

Not super sure about a level pack. Probably just a fun pack like A-Team, since Knight Rider is a more obscure IP and has essentially nothing else for a second build.

I'm fairly certain that the level packs are the "connectables" we heard about earlier, and I don't know enough about Fantastic Beasts to make a call on the characters.

Level packs aren't connectables.

Connectables are smaller, not so expensive things. That's what I've heard.

Any hint on what those might be?

Like just a minifigure on a stand?

I'm guessing more like a crappy build on a stand.

She looks better! Hope there's a relaxed angry expression though.

Dunno if anyone's cared to look, but the packs are up for pre-order on Gamestop, Best Buy, and more. They have descriptions that name the alternate builds of the models.

Really not a fan of her torso print, despite it's accuracy to the show, Here's hoping Raven makes an appearance in a set soon. The real Raven.

With Sonic's speed. who needs gravity?

Raven looks...decent. The shadowy-face effect looks bad even in the show, but it's not absolutely awful.

You know, Beast Boy and Raven have grown on me. I like this Beast Boy's coloring and hairpiece better than the Jokerland one. The only thing that really bothers me is the eye style, but maybe I could accept that. It's not as ugly as those horrible Clone Wars faces. This is stylized, but kind of pleasantly.

With Raven I had a similar problem, but seeing the larger picture helped. It looks like the color around the eyes is consistent with the color of the rest of her visible skin. So I'm thinking I could just talk myself into believing it's just a weirdly shaped shadow rather than the legitimate outline of her eyes. If she has dual molded legs than I think I could learn to overlook anything.
