In the battle arena clip posted few days ago the guy says "There is 20 new IPs I think." Those are the key words. He propably forgot the exact number. I would go with a number mentioned in official press realese and other interviews.

All reliable sources except this guy say it's going to be 16 new IPs, so I'll go with the majority.

However, I just read on IGN that there are going to be 21 battle arenas in all (http://www.ign.com/a...art-battle-mode). So, since the 20-IPs-guy said his number in the context of battle arenas, it all seems clear to me.

Still only 16 new IPs, but 20+ battle arenas.

So, five (or more?) Battle Arenas for first year franchises / themes, of which we can assume DC Comics is one, thanks to the Promo Packs of Supergirl and Green Lantern.

I'm guessing two of the others include Ninjago and The LEGO Movie, on the basis of their being the other two best-represented themes in the game (i.e., the ones with the most playable characters), as well as inherently lending themselves toward the sort of competitive play the Battle Arenas represent. But this is just a guess, of course!

Does anyone have a twitter account? Some of the developers have been answering questions. We could just ask "is any of the Season 1 content getting new Packs?"

Even a "stay tuned!" answer would be helpful.

Pfft. You kids don't appreciate the classics. :P

Stripe appears only in the first Gremlins, not in Gremlins 2.

Hey I love Gremlins. This one was something else... And Stripe was in it http://cdn.highdefdigest.com/uploads/2012/04/29/gremlins-21.png even that with the different colored Mogwai...

Anyways not sure if anyone else has seen this but in the new Ghostbusters Stay Puff Marshmallow Man is in it this movie as well. So because Slimer and him are in this movie as well will they be able to unlock this world too? Similar to Cyborg, will he be able to unlock Jump City?

Or Mohawk if you want to be pedantic. God I just can't get Mega Madness out of my head whenever I think of Gremlins. I hope that's one of the tracks for the Gremlins Adventure World along with the Gremlins Rag. That would be swell.

If LEGO Movie is getting one, Lord Business would be a perfect character for it! For Ninjago I dunno. If they do Lord of the Rings I actually think they will do either Sauron or Saruman.

DC Comics, Ninjago, The LEGO Movie, Doctor Who and Wizard of Oz, maybe?

Hmmm...well we already know Supergirl and The Green Arrow are gonna be representing DC, so I reckon we'll probably get Master Chen for Ninjago, Lord Business for the Lego Movie, possibly Dorothy for the Wizard of Oz and maybe a Zygon for Doctor Who? Edited by Starscream759

I don't know (and don't even know about The LEGO Movie or Ninjago - that was just a wild guess), but I'd certainly be all for any new packs that gave us more characters from those last two franchises, particularly Doctor Who (as I'm sure is your own greatest hope as well).

Of course, whenever we find out which remaining first-year themes are getting new material in the second year, we should remember there should still be a year 3 and maybe even year 4 or more to look forward to.

I feel that the year 1 franchises that appeared in the trailer have the best chances, those being;

DC Comics

The LEGO Movie

Lord of the Rings

Ghostbusters

Back to the Future

Scooby-Doo

Doctor Who

The Wizard of Oz

edit: how could I forget about scoob! thanks, numbah1nerd!

I was just thinking of something, what if Beast Boy can transform into a dinosaur once you enter Jurassic World?

BB should be able to transform into whatever the hell animal he wants if they're going for "realism" :P

Dorothy seems likely if they bring back Wizard of Oz. Not sure we'd get a Zygon before other characters like Captain Jack Harkness or Clara Oswald though.

I'm not convinced about Ninjago considering they are likely to make LEGO Ninjago Movie packs in a third year so will probably get a whole new Adventure World and possibly a Story Pack compared to other franchises but The LEGO Movie is probably a good possibility seeing as we haven't had Lord Business yet. I could see them releasing Lord Business as an NFC minifigure.

(Only speculation and guessing)

DC - Supergirl, Green Arrow

Lord of the Rings - Either Sauron or Saruman

The LEGO Movie - Lord Business

Ghostbusters - ???

Back to the Future - Biff Tannen or anybody else from the Tannen family

Doctor Who - Either Strax, Missy or a Zygon

The Wizard of Oz - Maybe the Wizard of Oz himself?

I don't think it'll work like that. For example, DC has a Batman and the LEGO Movie has a Batman and the LEGO Batman Movie has a Batman. They only unlock their respective worlds. (Well, I mean, there isn't a LEGO Movie Batman out and I don't know if the LEGO Batman Movie counts as its own world or not but you get the idea!) DC's Cyborg and Teen Titans Go!'s Cyborg are two different Cyborgs. You'll probably get some fun dialogue out of him with the other Titans, though!

From a financial standpoint, they're probably never going to make a character that unlocks two worlds. That's twice the content for the price of one figure. Narratively it doesn't work much, either, since they've established that every character comes from just one universe.

Yeah but the LEGO Movie Batman is also the LEGO Batman Movie LEGO Movie Batman of LEGO Dimensions.

Gozer, perhaps?

That's a good one! Didn't think of that!

some of you guys are assuming that they'd only do one additional figure for each returning franchise, it's entirely possible that they'd do multiple, like rounding off the mystery gang, as they're doing two DC figures for year 2 already.

Clara poses some issues, since you have to save her in the Doctor Who level. Jack definitely seems possible. I just have a strong gut feeling that we'll be getting an actual character next and not another monster. We've got the three most iconic already, and the only other is the Weeping Angel, which wouldn't exactly work and would make their section of the Doctor Who level really confusing, probably.

Excellent point about Ninjago! I forgot that they were getting a movie. I don't know if they'll get a new Adventure World for that but a Story Pack seems incredibly likely.

Vitruvius is also a possibility for the LEGO Movie. Heh, what if it's the kid? Like, what if we get the kid and it's not even a minifigure, it's just a regular figurine?

I don't think this is much of an issue, since you can quests in adventure worlds from playable characters like benny, and (probably, I haven't checked) fight against playable characters like the wicked witch and the joker.

like rounding off the mystery gang

good lord could they please

I'm still really pissed about Velma and Daphne being so expensive, but they could stick them in a Team Pack or in Fun Packs and make a Level Pack out of Fred.

You have to consider, though, that one of DC's minifigures is an exclusive (or at least not mass-release). It seems odd that they'd only list off the new IPs and thieir packs in this list if there were still old ones coming into play..

I suppose, but she's also not the Doctor's companion anymore. I don't know if she's appeared on the show yet, but there's a new companion now.

Oh, and did anybody catch the LEGO Dimensions Instagram this morning? They said that they had "a few more things to share with [us] today..."

I wouldn't be surprised if any returning year 1 stuff is handled similarly to green arrow/supergirl, given away at events or as store promotions or something.
