MY HEART!

All of the little chibi vehicles. All of the cool minifigs. I think I'm gonna be collecting all of these guys. I hope they'll be available at Lego Stores. They don't seem to like carrying Lego video game related items

Posted (edited)

I am interested in the Dr Who pack and the BTTF pack at this stage (even though I have none of the consoles the game is being released on and have no intention of buying the actual game)

The good thing about having the instructions available is that its easier to see what parts in the sets are new and use that as a guide as to whether its worth purchasing the pack for parts rather than as a gameplay piece.

Homing [simon] Cowell!!! Portal 2 is real! And Doctor Who!!! Even Scooby-Doo!!!

Tell me, just how much will all these cost (full game + Portal 2 + TLM)?

Really excited about Doctor Who, especially since he comes with K-9!

So now we have confirmed the identity of 28 of the 41 figures listed on that Xbox One box. It appears that the instructions show all characters to be released in the first and second waves (1-7 & 19-33 being wave 1 and 8-10 & 34-36 being wave 2. Note that the creator of that image skipped the number 11.) That leaves figures 12-14 & 37-39 (wave 3) and figures 15-18 & 40-42 (wave 4) not fully known. Here are my guesses:

WAVE 3

12: Ghostbuster

13: Joker

14: ???

37: ???

38: ???

39: ???

WAVE 4

15: ???

16: Superman

17: Aquaman

18: ??? - possibly Tin Man or a Cyberman

40: ???

41: ???

42: Lloyd

Buying when its not on sale or something will result in this amount of money spent:

  • Game: $100
  • Doctor Who Level Pack: $30 (Possible price breakdown: $5 for the character + $5 for the TARDIS + $5 for K-9 + $10 for the level/world + $5 liscensing/technology cost)
  • Portal 2 Level Pack: $30 (Basically the same as the Doctor Who price breakdown.)
  • Unikitty Fun Pack: $15 ($5 for character + $5 for vehicle + $5 for liscensing technology cost.)
  • Benny Fun Pack: $15 (See above.)
  • Emmet Fun Pack: $15
  • Bad Cop Fun Pack: $15

Total cost - Lego Movie packs = $160

Grand total = $220

I strongly advise waiting for Black Friday deals or some other good deal to save some money.

Okay, so here are all the known sets and set numbers (at least, all the ones known to me):

71170 - PS3 Starter Pack

71171 - PS4 Starter Pack

71172 - XBox One Starter Pack

71173 - XBox 360 Starter Pack

71174 - Wii U Starter Pack

71201 - Level Pack: Back to the Future

71202 - Level Pack: The Simpsons

71203 - Level Pack: Portal 2

71204 - Level Pack: Doctor Who

71205 - Team Pack: Jurassic World

71206 - Team Pack: Scooby-Doo!

71207 - Team Pack: NinjaGo

71208 - ?

71209 - Fun Pack: DC Comics (Wonder Woman)

71210 - Fun Pack: DC Comics (Cyborg)

71211 - Fun Pack: The Simpsons (Bart Simpson)

71212 - Fun Pack: The LEGO Movie (Emmet)

71213 - Fun Pack: The LEGO Movie (Bad Cop)

71214 - Fun Pack: The LEGO Movie (Benny)

71215 - Fun Pack: NinjaGo (Jay)

71216 - Fun Pack: NinjaGo (Nya)

71217 - Fun Pack: NinjaGo (Zane)

71218 - Fun Pack: The Lord of the Rings (Gollum)

71219 - Fun Pack: The Lord of the Rings (Legolas)

71220 - Fun Pack: The Lord of the Rings (Gimli)

71221 - Fun Pack: The Wizard of Oz (Wicked Witch)

71222 - Fun Pack: Legends of Chima (Laval)

71223 - Fun Pack: Legends of Chima (Cragger)

71224 - ?

71225 - ?

71226 - ?

71227 - Fun Pack: The Simpsons (Krusty the Clown)

71228 - ?

71229 - ?

71230 - ?

71231 - Fun Pack: The LEGO Movie (Unikitty)

71232 - Fun Pack: Legends of Chima (Eris)

Note the multiple conspicuous gaps in the numbering. Note also that while most of the Fun Packs from any particular theme are numerically grouped together, a few of them aren't (Bart and Krusty, Unikitty, Eris), indicating those blank spaces aren't necessarily for the adjacent themes (if they're for themes listed here at all in the first place). And note further we still have no specific pack info for Ghostbusters, despite the extended announcement video's unambiguous tease of the theme.

So... Continue speculating! ;)

Plus taking into account the fact that I've got no XBox One or Wii U yet... well crap. But if the figs are detachable, it's OK even if I don't get the whole lot of 'em. I've got a cluttered house and endless imagination.

Flipping Chell! wow. I was a Portal fan back in the day...

If i see her in store, i'd probably pick her up without having the game, my only worry tho... how will Kids recognise her?

I suggest you play Portal and/or Portal 2 with your children, and tell them the gun helps her teleport. Teleportation looks cool to a kid (I speak as my 14-year old self), and the flying transfers would elicit some "Oooh"s and "Aaah"'s.

Great to see these images. My wallet hurts already. We've posted up a video over at FamilyGamerTV, added credit to Eurobricks for the list in our video notes and we've added a few bits in there too (one speculative):

71205 - Team Pack: Jurassic World (Gyrosphere, Chris Pratt aka Owen Grady, ACU, Raptor)

71206 - Team Pack: Scooby-Doo! (Snack, Scooby, Shaggy, Mystery Machine)

71207 - Team Pack: NinjaGo (Blade Cycle, Kai, Cole, Boulder Blaster)

71208 - Team Pack: DC Comics (Joker, Harley Quinn) <- We hope

71208 - Team Pack: DC Comics (Joker, Harley Quinn) <- We hope

I'm hoping that one is the (first?) Ghostbusters pack, as teased in the announcement video. Perhaps a Team Pack with two of the team members - say, Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore - plus a mini-Ectomobile and mini-HQ.

Posted (edited)

That said, I can't help but notice the known lineup is pretty heavy with dudes. I hope later pack reveals include a lot more female characters. Right now, we know of just seven female characters out of thirty-one playable characters in total. It seems particularly egregious that the five core family members of The Simpsons are 60% female, yet as far as we know we're getting only the two male characters, plus another male character who isn't even a family member. LEGO and WB are going to take some heat from critics if they don't add some more female characters to the mix, and I can't say they won't have asked for it.

These count as sets, though, so they'll probably be there.

I think the portal gun could really work in terms of gameplay, since the TT Games targeting system would be a good way to shoot the portals. I just wonder what Chell will be necessary for in-game.

Remembering the Xbox One box and the lines separating the minifigures, I'm guessing that the reason that some characters are not numbered with the other ones from that theme is because that particular character is being released in a later wave. I'm guessing that Ghostbusters hasn't appeared anywhere yet because (judging by that picture again), a character from that theme won't show up until wave 3.

Here's the picture again for reference:

10yhnxg.jpg

Everyone from the first 2 sections have been revealed, but the 3rd and 4th divisions (which most have guessed to be the 3rd and 4th waves) remain partially a mystery. I'm betting that #12 is a Ghostbuster.

Great to see these images. My wallet hurts already. We've posted up a video over at FamilyGamerTV, added credit to Eurobricks for the list in our video notes and we've added a few bits in there too (one speculative):

71207 - Team Pack: NinjaGo (Blade Cycle, Kai, Cole, Boulder Blaster)

71208 - Team Pack: DC Comics (Joker, Harley Quinn) <- We hope

That DC Comics one actually makes a lot of sense. I never noticed how minifig #14 looked so much like Harley Quinn. I'm betting we won't see better pictures of the minifigs from wave 3 or wave 4 until the instructions for the wave 2 characters are found.

Also, here's a list of all known characters coming to Lego Dimensions in waves 1 & 2.

It's definitely Harley and Joker. Looks like the Funhouse Harley, so that'll be nice for those who missed her. I would have preferred a different version, though.

I didn't realize Chell's portal gun was a new mold! LEGO's really pulling out the stops with these packs.

Posted

Just found a magnificent spelling error on Forbes' article regarding this:

Also in the published instructions are Scooby Doo and Jurassic World. These are team packs rather than level packs and offer characters, gadgets and vehicles in the game rather than new adventures. As expected this includes Chris Pratt, Scooby Doo, Shagging and the Mystery Machine.

These expansions are for kids? :look::grin:

What interests me most about these is the new moulds for The Doctor's sonic screwdriver and Chell's Portal gun. They both look fantastic! Sadly, unless they turn up in some of next year's sets, I won't be able to get them. They'll be £30 each in the UK, aftermarket prices will be ridiculous (if anybody even parts these out) and considering I'm not (or rather, I can't) shelling out £300 for a new console and £100 for the starter pack, it's not worth it :cry_sad:

Though I do have to wonder: is it possible that BTTF, Doctor Who, Portal and Wizard of Oz could get actual / more sets? It wouldn't make sense for those wonderful new moulds to just appear in one "pseudo-set" each (as I'm calling these Fun/Level/Team Packs, I don't regard them as true sets).
