just2good Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Is he related to Midway Arcade at all? His shirt may have a reference to it. I don't think it's a Space Invader (which isn't Midway anyways). Quote
fred67 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Well, I've been completely in the dark about Dimensions because, knowing it was a video game, I knew it was something I wouldn't be getting. But now I've seen those expansion packs on Brickset and was like "wow!" I would really love some extra Ghostbusters and LOTR stuff. Then I saw the prices, and now I'm really sad about it - I can't afford those just for the figures. It's very disappointing to me, although not a surprising move on TLG's part. I can't believe it'll cost me $15 for a Slimer. Quote
8BrickMario Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) I like the Arcade Gamer, and I suppose it makes sense, as characters from the MA games would be less family-friendly. Oz looks fantastic, and notice how the guy said the WW is the Oz character for the first year? Dorothy/Scarecrow and Lion/Tin Man Team Packs could happen next year! Stay Puft is sorta cute, but I think his blank stare captures his creepiness, too. Perhaps someday we'll get a reissue with his freaky angry face? Edited August 10, 2015 by 8BrickMario Quote
Ashnflash Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) I compared the original leaked picture to the final one and they are really different... For example there was no arcade guy and theres some other people... Edited August 10, 2015 by Ashnflash Quote
Legocity2713 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) A few differences, more so in the order of the pictures than anything else, but still relatively the same. Seems Dr. Who and the other then undisclosed figs were the blurrier than the rest. Just the original picture or a tactic from Lego to disguise the figure? Edited August 10, 2015 by Legocity2713 Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 We're getting things like display shelves and cases for the figures and stuff. Quote
Legocity2713 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Not too bad looking Nice idea for storage. (For all you completionists, better add this to your $700+ Dimensions purchases) Thanks for posting CM4Sci, But where'd you get this anyway? Quote

Tariq j Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 This shelves look pretty neat, they could even be used for small regular sets. Quote

Like 90% off the buyers will would be quite something to be like 40 of those cases for all the figs... talk about expensive Quote
gpricey Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) To be fair I will probably store them them a minifigure display frame after a while like my collectible mini-figure collection. At the end of the day if I wanted to play the game again it only needs the NFC disc and there should be a way of working out which chip is which. In terms of the waves and release dates I was looking around Amazon UK, Argos and a few other Uk sites and the wave dates look something like this Starter Pack - Wave 1 Sep-15 Wave 2 Nov-15 Wave 3 Jan-16 Wave 4 Mar-16 Wave 5 TBA Not sure all the sites I looked at had all the sets in the right waves, but that was the general feel for it in the UK (might be different elsewhere) Edited August 10, 2015 by gpricey Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 $655 for all the packs together. I wonder who's going to afford all of these. It would be very useful if you already have Emmet from the Lego movie sets, that you could just fit him in the game. But you need that token thing, very smart Lego. Quote

Well, not just Emmet - the overwhelming majority of the playable character figures are of characters that have been or will be released in other, "regular" sets, albeit some of them in different versions. The remarkable thing is that there actually are a few characters that apparently *are* exclusive, and who would likely never get official LEGO versions if not for this game - Chell, Slimer, Mr. Stay Puft, the Wicked Witch of the West. CM4Sci Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) Really small image of a box you can put the figures in I'm assuming. Edited August 10, 2015 by CM4Sci Quote

Legocity2713 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Oh Just2Good, then you get irritated when we (repeatedly) ask you when ask you to tell us more I'm just kidding, but this seems to confirm that we're getting a Mr. T fig… or some Mortal Kombat figs. *oh2* *oh2* :excited: :excited: :wub_drool: :innocent2: Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I seriously doubt there will be any official LEGO Mortal Kombat thing ever, whether for this game or anything else. I'd sooner expect Star Wars and Marvel in this game than that. Heck, I'd sooner expect Galidor than that. When it comes to Midway material, the obvious place to start would seem to be the games that actually have original arcade cabinets appear in the announcement video. That gives us Defender and Robotron 2084, though I certainly would imagine there will be more games than just those two. Quote
