BluePulse Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 That con didn't happen to be "fan expo" did it? I was there too and played the demonstration. Such a great game. I went thursday evening, but there were still lines. The lady that was there demoing was super nice and let me play around, as I showed her my Doctor Who lego stuff (doesn't hurt to mention when bbc america tweets you ^_^) so she could tell I was a massive fan and was super excited, though considering the screaming and jumping with excitement, it wasn't hard to tell. Still, the people behind me had children and were pretty ticked at my childish antics, and it made me really sad. I get this is a kid's toy and it's for kids, and they have every right to be mad about a grown man hogging a little kid's game, but I have wanted lego doctor who so badly... :( yep, i was there sunday, and most people felt the same way about me playing it, so I kept letting them go ahead of me still worth it though! legonerd54321 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I died from happiness when I saw the Ghostbusters scene. And Michael J Fox is back! Yes! Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Stay Puft can change size? Awesome! I thought the train scene was very funny. Does this mean we'll get a Winston minifigure with Finn's hair? I really like the translucent sparkly look of Vortech and his minions. Those would make for some really cool minifigures. Quote
Robert8 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 And Dan Castellaneta and Nancy Cartwright? I guess The Simpsons will have non-speaking roles Quote
Cheatster9000x Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Stay Puft can change size? I think it's just stay puft using the scale mode. Quote
just2good Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 The Simpsons use archived clips, like the older doctors. Quote
Ordinareo Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 The Simpsons use archived clips, like the older doctors. Seriously? That sucks! Quote
kevkipo Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 This got me hyped as well, really awesome to see Micheal and so much other great stars in there Really wish Ian Mckellen joined the bunch... but oh well. Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I bet Michael's lines are recycled clips, or they would have shown him, too. He's not in great shape, so it makes sense. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Seriously? That sucks! Indeed, it does... but then, given how much each main cast member of The Simpsons makes per episode now, it would probably be prohibitively expensive to get any of them to record new dialogue specifically for the game. And honestly, given how long the show has run and how many episodes there are and how much dialogue a lot of the characters have had over the years, there should be no shortage of material for the game makers to mine for them. One half suspects anything the game's writers would come up with for Bart or Homer has quite possibly already been used in the show anyway. I bet Michael's lines are recycled clips, or they would have shown him, too. He's not in great shape, so it makes sense. I don't think they would have made a point of saying they had him and shown his name and all if they were just using archival clips of his. Quote
PenPlays Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Lego Dimensions revealed today that the Jay and Laval Fun Packs will be exclusive to Toys R Us. This means that all pre-orders for Laval at Gamestop will be cancelled before release. I tweeted out to them regarding other exclusives, and was promptly responded to, stating that they were the only two exclusives planned at the moment. Quote
MasterAS2000 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Great to see Michael J Fox back. Quote
Ashnflash Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Ya happy to see Michael J. Fox too! I'm pretty sure it isnt recycled voice... Gary Oldman? Sean Astin? J.K. Simmons? GUYS! THIS IS AMAZING! Quote

Do you know if Jay comes out Day 1 for America? They still haven't updated their pre-order cards for TRU yet. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Yeah, Gary Oldman is doing Lord Vortech's voice. That's so cool how they got some of the recognized voices for most of the characters. What really bothers me is Kai having someone else do his voice. I'm so used to the ninjago series voice. Quote
PenPlays Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Ah, makes sense! Do you know if Jay comes out Day 1 for America? They still haven't updated their pre-order cards for TRU yet. Lack of communication between Lego Dimensions and their retailers is the reason why pre-orders haven't been updated to the correct time windows and such (and why Laval is still listed at Gamestop). If the character is part of Wave 1 (or any other waves/release dates for that matter) it will be available on day one, regardless of store exclusivity. Edited September 14, 2015 by Penkid11 Quote

kevkipo Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 I have school :( GASP!! I nearly had a heart-attack when I saw Jenna, Peter and Michelle flickr across (every doctor ever whoot!) That's awesome right, i love that they have Peter Capaldi as well. Must be good... Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 (edited) ... though as great as the video is, someone needs to tell whoever edited in the images of LEGO critters with Joel's words at the end that snakes are vertebrates. They should've used the LEGO octopus. Lego Dimensions revealed today that the Jay and Laval Fun Packs will be exclusive to Toys R Us. This means that all pre-orders for Laval at Gamestop will be cancelled before release. Of course, like other LEGO vendor exclusives, I imagine they'll also be available from LEGO itself, which should give us a way around the TRU tax if they apply it to those (as well as letting us get VIP points for them).
