The Portal level sounds good. I'm not much of a gamer, but Portal is special. I can't pass that up, and I don't trust that Lego will make a stand alone set of Portal (or that it'd be affordable if they did), so I'll have to get this, but I agree that it should be cheaper.

I really have to say I'm impressed with what I've seen of the story, it's very good so far and the humor has really been top notch. Makes me wonder if they'll end up throwing together a DTV movie for this game as it's cutscenes are very cinematic and it already has a movie quality cast.

Thought this may be helpful; I added up all the prices if you want eeevveerrrrryyyyttthhhiiinnnnggg.

Total Set Price Lego Dimensions up to March 2016

$15 * 27 = $405

$25 * 4 = $100

$30 * 6 = $180

$100

Total: $785

What do you mean?

I mean, I don't think they'll just have an update to the existing game to cater new level packs and stuff, I think they'll just go ahead and release a new game in retail.

I will start by saying hi all.

I will be here forever im thinking. I LOOVE bricks, and it seems that LEGO Dimensions will be the next theme to empty my wallet and bank account.

Anyhow. Ive been watching the Back To The Future level pack gameplay ( In french though, horrible when one doesnt understand the language ), but i was wondering, since it has the ability to fly back in time ( i know its for the game level only, i guess).

Anyone has any ideas on how the TARDIS will work ? ... Do you think it will have the ability to cross to whatever level, if one owns a character from that theme i guess. So we wouldnt have to go to the "portal level" or what its called ?

I hope it make sense :)

Also Gauntlet will be one of the Arcades in that levelpack. I simply loved Gauntlet as a kid

On a sidenote anyone seen unikitty ingame, hillarious

No the same physical game will cover you for a couple of years.

They already confirmed that you can use the same software in the future.

Here's the Portal Level

I was hoping

the other science-fiction villain who teams up with GladOs would be Missy/the Master seeing as she's already confirmed to be in the game.

Wow! 3 years

I wonder what other licenses we could see in this theme

Beetlejuice?

There is a movie coming soon

There's still plenty they could do with DC Comics, The Simpsons and Doctor Who yet.

We'll see. A reviewer was able to finish the main game in about 12 hours. The expansion packs would add extra levels but are probably just side-quests and are apart from the main storyline. I'm not sure how they can sustain interest in the game for up to three years with no expansion to the main story or the introduction of a new main storyline. Sure, they can make the sequels be entirely download only, but rather than expect users to own large harddrives or memory cards, it may be easier to just release a sequel disk that includes everything from the first disk and works with the original kit.

It's almost here! :excited: Just to fuel the hype train, here's a scan of the awesome exclusive print that they gave out at the Lego Dimensions demo back at SDCC:

That's epic, nice to see Chell smile for once

Another Question: When I am not playing the game, can I use the minifigures as regular Lego minifugres: take off their head, take off the legs, and take off the accessories, or are they stuck with their special face and pose on their stands?

Yep, it's been confirmed many times that all the minifigures and vehicles can be fully removed from their bases.
