Lots of us think Sherlock's content skews a little too adult and insufficiently kid-friendly for TLG to want to touch it,

Then again, lots of us thought the same of The Simpsons and The Big Bang Theory, so what do I know...

Slimer trumps the other 'hatch ability' (Bart,Gimli,Gollum) characters because he has the 'underwater, pass ghosts' ability that no other character has.

Cyberman trumps Doc Brown because it has the 'underwater, silver LEGO destroy' ability that no other character has.

So you can get rid of the options in italics from the list!.

While I'm here...does anybody know if there is a Wave 1 vehicle/gadget that can be upgraded with 'Flight' and 'Sonar Smash'?

The batmobile has sonar smash at stage two...

Some of the nijago packs have a flight one. I got the blue one and its got a little space ship thing that has flight from the first stage (not upgrade necessary)

Yeah, it was for combination of 'flight' and 'sonar smash' to get the 3rd floor 'smash-able' blue glass on the end of Wayne Manor in DC World. There's a Unikitty Rainbow block underneath it which I had assumed would need to be removed before it can be reached, but after realising that Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet (Build 2) can be used to smash gold bricks that are only reachable with flight, I thought that there might be a vehicle that can be upgraded to flight/sonar to help me get it. I'm going to have to play with them myself and see if there is a way(any excuse to spend a few hours playing with LEGO Dimensions :sweet: ) or wait 'til November!!

The War Doctor contemplated committing mass genocide on his own planet...and he's in the game. If The LEGO Group are fine with that, then Sherlock wouldn't be a problem.

What about Lego Danny Phantom?

First of all, Danny Phantom is Nickelodeon owned. Second, if you'll notice, most of the IPs in Dimensions are still relevant to some kids these days (Typically because of their parents influence). Danny Phantom is even more irrelevant today as it hasn't aired for years. Not to mention the fact that it isn't a show that parents will be showing their kids in the future (simply because it isn't quite a critical masterpiece, a la Scooby Doo). Now, if the show had critical acclaim, then maybe, but again relevance to children is an issue.

So. No.

I am still holding off buying Dimensions until I know what packs are redundant, so I can save money. So thank you for the list, LegoPercyJ.

Now I've come to wonder though what kind of packs LEGO will release over the next three years if all(?) content is already unlockable now.

- Will more and more current packs get redundant by future packs that combine more hard-to-get abilities (yeah!),

- Are there already regions in Dimensions that no (current and future) known character can unlock (okay),

- Will buying future packs introduce new locked regions and move the AllCompleted! finish line of currently 450(?) gold bricks all the time (that'd suck),

- Or really how does LEGO want to keep this game exciting?

Yes, but bad guys wanting to wipe out good guys isn't too uncommon, even in LEGO themes. Bionicle is one notable example. LEGO likely wouldn't even mention anything about genocide.

Themes like Simpsons took me aback at first, but I can see now that LEGO is perfectly capable of releasing these themes without skewering into adult content. Batman is included in the starter pack-let's not forget that his alter ego has slept with more people than there are LEGO Minifigures in the world! LEGO does a great job of making licensed video games without the sex or profanity that pervades modern movies.

That's not to say there are no exceptions. Constantine was cut from LEGO Batman 3 because, as Arthur Parsons put it, "There is absolutely no age-appropriate version of Constantine."

That's great, thanks.... really useful.

Yeah...looks like it's time to work more hours...

I'm planning to get them all. If my plan works out, I'll buy the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack today along with Zane, Nya, Laval, Simpsons Level Pack and Portal Level Pack for about $200. I have a $5 discount from VIP rewards and I'll get $20 from this order, which is enough for the Scooby Doo Team Pack. I'm not sure if some of my family members will still give me Christmas gifts since I'm an adult, but I expect at least a few level or even team packs from my family for Christmas. I got a bunch of gift cards recently, so that'll help. I think I'll be able to get all the currently revealed packs by May.

How many consider destroying their own planet though and killing a lot of children in the process?

If that's okay, then there's no reason why Sherlock wouldn't be.

You're going to get ALL the packs?

You must come from a family of millionaires if you can afford to buy the starter pack, three fun packs and a couple of level packs with your family buying the rest.

I agree with Sherlock, if LEGO can make an age-appropriate version of it. Like I said, LEGO will often ignore the more mature content in themes so that kids can enjoy the sets too. I'm no Doctor Who expert, but Thanos wiped out half the galaxy (Including woman and children, no doubt) and was still included in LEGO Marvel Superheroes, and I guarantee you'll be seeing him in LEGO bigfig form again...

And for buying all the packs...well, I've only bought three LEGO sets this year, so I have a few hundred saved up.(Yes, I bought 12 LEGO video games and 12 LEGO DLC packs on Steam, but that's unrelated!) I don't have a full-time paying job, but I do make at least $12 a week in the summer and early fall. As for my family, I'm thinking different family members (Grandma and Grandpa on one side, Grandma and Granpa on the other side, etc.) could each get me one or two packs. That wouldn't cost more than $60 for them at the most. My work with my church and with Scouting is all voluntary, so I don't get paid for most of my work.

I don't know if anyone noticed.. but in the Portal 2 free roam, on the surface... there is a quest to destroy 5 scarecrows... scarecrows of Atlas and P-Body!

That's why I love the Portal levels, they are just like the games, but in Lego! Especially Glados jibes about your "bubbly personality"

Also I'm fairly sure you see them both when you activate the first beam thing (the name of it has totally escaped me!)
