KlodsBrik Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 First time I've seen gameplay of this; it looks stellar. I didn't watch the entire thing of course (the kid's voice + differing volume levels and echoes discouraged me) but saw some mentions of the Silence, Zygons, and Autons, so it looks like a whole lot of monsters are included, which is great! Hehehe ... I also just saw small parts of it. Reasons, offcourse the kids voice .... I want the full experience myself tomorrow ( where i hopefully am capable of gettin it as promised by my supplier ) and that it was noticed already in the comments that they struggled due to a bug. But i still couldnt resist on gettin a first impression, and it does look to be brilliant i must say !! Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Can't believe there's a reference to Torchwood in the Adventure World. Very surprising given that Torchwood was an adult drama therefore not kid-friendly like LEGO is. Also: I wonder how many people who play the level pack will realise the winking 12 in the LEGO title sequence is a reference to the 7th Doctor winking in the season 24 titles? Quote

Brickus Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) Is it only for the companion cube, or is it not working for others, such as Chell? Just the companion cube, but now most of my other toy tags are taking longer to load into the game. Also does anyone know where to look for a good guide for the adventure worlds? The cast of Torchwood made cameo appearances in Doctor Who. It is a big part of the shows history. The Torchwood under Yvonne Hartman was, not the Torchwood team led by Captain Jack (even then, Torchwood is a very tiny part of the show's 52 year history). Torchwood's appearance in The Stolen Earth/Journey's End wasn't that important (bar Captain Jack having a big role but he was a Doctor Who character to start with, not a Torchwood one) and it didn't specifically mention that Torchwood team other than having them there with Jack. This, on the other hand, specifically mentions Jack's Torchwood team and it is surprising because of the adult nature Torchwood now has that LEGO chose to add in a reference to the spinoff. Quote

Can't say I agree at all. Gwen and Co appear in Doctor Who and are mentioned as being away on a mission in another episode to explain why they are not there to help out. If you are a Doctor Who viewer that has never seen Torchwood, you would know Jack had a team and even saw them in the show. He also explains to the Doctor that his new version of Torchwood is diffetent to the Hartman one. No surprise to see it referenced, given the loving attention that TT have given to the Doctor Who content in general. Quote

Whilst Gwen and Ianto do appear, they have very little bearing on the plot and you would only know they're from Torchwood if you've watched it. It doesn't really matter anyway; I'm just surprised there's a Torchwood reference in a LEGO game. Quote
Starrocks923 Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 On an unrelated note to Torchwood(But not entirely unrelated to Doctor Who), Wave 2 launches tomorrow. I was running around for Streetpass Weekend(I got 100 tags in one day!) when I stopped by a Best Buy that was stocked with Krusty Fun Packs. Sadly, they didn't have the Doctor Who Level Pack or Uni-Kitty Fun Pack yet. I didn't purchase Krusty as I currently don't need him. Quote
KlodsBrik Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Dang it. My local toy store had told me they would have the whole of wave 2 for sale today, unfortunately they hadnt gotten The Doctor Who level pack, much to my disapointment. However i did get The Unikitty Fun pack. Ive made a review of it in LEGO Licensed for anyone interested. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=116767 Unikitty in Berserk mode ingame. This is so insanely funny. Quote
Savage Oppress Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Wave 2 hits US stores tomorrow :) Quote
DuckBricks Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Pretty disappointed with my Target, but it's understandable. I used the Target inventory checker and verified that the Doctor Who pack was in stock... I went to two different Targets and they refused to give to give it to me, saying to come back tomorrow. Pretty ridiculous compared to last year, when I was able to get 2015 sets by early December by just asking for them... I guess LEGO's cracking down... Quote
rzetlin Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I checked my EB Store, they have Dr. Who in the back room, but they cannot sell any until tomorrow! Quote
strangely Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 (edited) I just tried using my Companion Cube Minibuild on the central portal on the Toypad, and it won't load into the game, however it does load when I put it on the other two portals, but not the middle one so I can't upgrade it. Has anyone else encountered this problem, is it with the NFC chip, the Toypad, or is it a bug with the new update? I had a problem with things loading into the game, only the center portal would work. When I moved the cord it started to work again, so it was likely a short somewhere in the line that was effected by where in the room I had the portal sitting (or the tension that was on the cord). Jiggling the cord would cause it to work or not work. So it could be the cord. I didn't bother with customer service as it works most of the time, but if you can't get it to improve then definitely contact them. Edited November 3, 2015 by strangely Quote

Seems to be a multi store crack down on this after last winter's news fiasco, where everyone was able to get sets a lot earlier by asking for them. Quote

I think LEGO has become a lot harsher hitting shops with fines if they sell the products earlier. When i first purchased LEGO Dimensions, i went there a few days earlier and was told that LEGO would fine them whats equivilant to 10.000$ and maybe even drop their license to sell LEGO if they sold the sets earlier. A sidenote: Is it also only Doctor Who from 2nd wave that is still not available "over there" ? Quote

All wave two sets come out tomorrow "over here " (Depending what time zone you look at, it may be today. But November 3 is when they're all released.) Oh, and FINES? That's harsh! Never heard of that before. Neat tidbit that definitely justifies their refusal to sell items before street date. Dropping the license to sell them is not a smart business move by any means, though. Perhaps they were just trying to scare you... Edited November 3, 2015 by legozebra Quote

Perhaps they were just trying to scare you... Nah, definately not to scare me. They are all serious, first of all as you know LEGO is Danish, so everybody know the brand over here and what its all about, secondly we are kinda proud of it offcourse. So be sure that when they told me what consequences it could have for them, they were all very serious. Its definately hanging as a big Warning poster in their backroom, to make sure no employees put out sets to early. Edited November 3, 2015 by KlodsBrik Quote
Sir Gareth Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Just chiming in: An associate at Target explained to me that not only could the worker be arrested for breaking the street date, the store could be fined and potentially loose its LEGO license. Strange, though, because I bought both of the summer Spider-Man sets from that Target in mid-July Quote

That's a bit too extreme. I've bought Lego before street and so has almost everyone to the point where its not even funny. Arresting the worker and loosing the license to sell Lego does seem a little too extreme (and maybe even a bit of a lie or excuse to not sell the pack) I really don't think selling a toy two days before it comes out is really a crime or federal offense. Its almost like giving the death penalty to a jay-walker. But those are just my two cents. Edited November 3, 2015 by Legocity2713 Quote

I do believe that the other users are telling the truth about what the employees said; however, I'm not sure if the employees are telling the truth. I've heard a fair share of tall tales from employees about this matter... Quote
KlodsBrik Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 (edited) Maybe its just that LEGO have stepped up their rules for LEGO Dimensions ? I borrowed this picture from the LEGO Dimensions physical brick discussion thread in Licensed: http://www.eurobrick...25#entry2303609 Its the first time ive ever seen labels like those on the boxes. Also, the LEGO Store in Copenhagen ( not there ive bought my Dimensions sets though ) has always been nice to me over the many years ive been there as a loyal customer and sold me sets before street date if they were in stock. Its also a first timer with LEGO Dimensions for me. Edited November 3, 2015 by KlodsBrik Quote
strangely Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I don't think it's an outright lie, but it's probably an exaggeration. I wouldn't be surprised if it were true for some products (As it seems some licenses are stricter in this area), but I doubt it for the majority of their products. Even if it were completely true I'd think they'd have a hard time policing that. Quote
Sir Gareth Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Where can I find instructions for the Doctor Who Level Pack? I bought the set only for the pieces, and don't actually own the game. Quote
