Koquillion Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 No dinosaurs? Wow that's terrible. There's only a few on mine (for PS3). Some Brontosaurus, Raptors, and some Ankylosaurus--who are surprisingly incredibly aggressive and they will attack you. Indominus is there, but she just walks around her cage, and does nothing. Won't even attack you. So far that's all I've seen. It's really surprising, considering TT could have basically copy and pasted the dinos from the Jurassic World game. Didn't realize Hire a Hero increased in price after use. Still, I just snagged the 2x extra, so that would help out. Anything to avoid buying Aquaman. Same amount of Dino's on Wii U and I think it's the same on the next gens. It's definitely the least well realised of the IP's. Shame really, I quite like rampaging Dinosaurs. Quote
Koquillion Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Here is the Hire a Hero costing First use of a character: 50,000 studs Second use of same character: 75,000 studs Third use of same character: 125,000 studs Fourth and more uses of same character: 250,000 studs. Quote

I've found that loading worlds seems to reset the pricing. That works. I tried to hire the ACU Trooper in the Wizard of Oz Adventure World to use a broken electricity generator that was in a small area that had a security camera and a gate. I snuck into it using the TARDIS and jumped out. It took multiple tries, but I finally got in there and fixed it. Then I hired the ACU Trooper, and he immediately spawned...right outside the gated area. I think that specific gold brick was a subtle attempt to convince players to just buy Jay's Fun Pack. Quote
Yodah Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 My console is PS3, i havent had any problems at all. Only issue is that i dont know how to change the soundtrack from Danish to English. For me, the game launched in French and it seems Tt once again forgot to include a language option in the game settings. All I could come up with to have the English voices was to set the whole PS3 system in English… which also turns all the rest of the game in English, including on-screen hints and subtitles. Not a problem for me, but it could be too high a compromise to make for some, depending on their English knowledge level. Quote

I really began to think that it was just me being stupid Your option will work for me. But its kind of a flaw that they havent made it possible to change language in any other way. Anyhow thanks a lot. Now i know what to do with my weekend. Quote

Yodah Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 So, I have received my Doctor Who level pack and I'm facing a crashing problem when playing the level: the game and my whole PS3 system crash/freeze at the same point at the early stage of the level, when I use the TARDIS to go back from Brick Arch Victorian London to Brick Arch 2025 London after moving the window to the minikit position with the crane : the Tardis in Vortex animation starts playing for a few seconds and then just freezes. Anyone else having similar issue? Quote

Yodah Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 Thanks, it worked, I have passed the crashing point and completed the level :) Now I hope this will be fixed in a future update soon, so the minikit hunt will be worry-less. Quote
bricksfan Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 I know this shouldn´t be here, but I need advice. Which console should I get to buy Lego dimensions? (Wii U, Xbox One or PS4) Please tell me which console is the cheapest, coolest, etc. Thank you in advance. Quote
8BrickMario Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Speaking as an owner, anything but the Wii U. It's set to be obsolete by next year due to it being Nintendo's worst-selling console. It's not a bad system, it just failed to have good games and an innovative play style. Quote
Koquillion Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 I agree. You can't really compare Wii U with PS4 and Xbox One, it is closer to PS3 and XB360 then the other two. The biggest pro in its favour is the gamepad, which allows you to keep playing without need for TV. But if you want better graphics and smoother visual then don't even consider it! As for which next gen is best, price wise they roughly match each other. PS4 has slightly better graphic capabilities, but nothing that gives it a significant edge over XB. PS4 is more of a pure games machine and XB leans towards being a multimedia centre. I guess you need to decide which one is going to offer you the most fun with game lineups and other features. I've got a Wii U but am thinking of upgrading and am leaning towards PS4. Quote

rob-ot5000 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) I have a question. On the Simpsons level of the main mission, I missed out on the Doctor Who/Flintstones bit. How can I get back to Mr Burns' office? I can't seem to find it in the Springfield adventure world. (I haven't beaten the main story yet. Is that relevant, perhaps?) Same goes for the Jetsons bit during the Simpsons Level Pack level. How do I get back to hallucination-ville? This is my first LEGO game, and I gotta say, I'm loving it. It's an awesome mashup of properties I love, in a LEGO format. So cool. I just figured out how to get to Kansas, earlier this evening. Any help on that Simpsons thing would be appreciated. Thanks! Also, I seem to recall some ragging on Aquaman earlier. It's fun to hate on Aquaman sometimes, but I think I'm still gonna pick him up. It should be loads of fun to explore the waters of this game. There's lots of stuff down there! EDIT: Who knew Scooby could hold his breath so long? He can explore underwater, too! EDIT 2: Nevermind, I figured it all out! DuckBricks Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Played through some more of Dimensions, and it's amazing how many Doctor Who references were crammed in! I found some more: - You can get to the Silurian Ark from Dinosaurs on a Spaceship from Middle Earth - You can also travel via TARDIS to The Palace of Versaille and the accompanying spaceship from The Girl in the Fireplace - You rescue Clara from the Robot from the 4th Doctor story - A Judoon - The snowmen from Victorian London - Matt Smith's mop, the 4th Doctor's yo-yo, and countless other Doctor specific accessories depending on which one you're using - Emperor Dalek casing from Remembrance of the Daleks - Unlimited Rice Pudding - Doctor mentions the Gelth, Weng-Chiang, and the giant Dinosaur in the Thames while reminiscing in Victorian London - A Li H'sen Chang magic advertisement poster - The giant CyberKing from The Next Doctor - The Black Archives is available to explore, and inside are - Pictures of Amy, Rory, and River Song - The Master's Grandfather Clock TARDIS - A portrait of the Brigadier and his Cyberman saluting you - The third Doctor rides off in Bessie after you master build it - The Gallifrey Falls painting and Vincent Van Gogh's painting - Kate Stewart As well as this earlier list I posted: Really impressed with the dedication to the DW world and the wide variety of characters present in the DW level pack! Koquillion Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Can someone please tell me the value of the Homer Simpson and Wicked Witch dimension sets. Can I have an outline of what each do? Homer-All new Simpsons level to play. Abilities are sonic smash and 'big transform' for super strength. Vehicle comes with tow ability in first build and can be transformed into a submarine if you haven't got underwater mini figs. Gadget is a TV that can be used to distract enemies and has a silver blow ability. Wicked Witch- only way to access Oz Adventure World, an absolute must have IMO! Abilities- flight, mind control, magic and silver blow up. Vehicle-Winged Monkey, but I never use it and know little about its ability! Quote
Yodah Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Currently downloading a brand new update on PS3. Download size is 2908 MB, I wonder what new content it brings; hopefully something this big can not be only bugfixes. Tthe next wave with new levels is planned only in two months, so I assume it is not the Ghostbusters content already… EDIT: Update installed. Nothing appears in the "News" section of the game home screen, but version number reads 1.2.1 at the bottom of the Options screen, so it's now probably just bug fixes and no new features... With the size of it, I do hope all the main issues are fixed, especially the RAD in Doctor Who… Edited November 16, 2015 by Yodah Quote
Yodah Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Huge issues with this last update! I can't get any character other than Wildstyle, Batman and Gandalf to materialize. When I place any physical character from an additional pack on the toypad, the blue vortex opens and the character never pops-out of it in the game. You can see an illustration here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eoi80h5x5175pbp/2015-11-16%2020.25.02.jpg Any vehicles, including the Batmobile, never appears in game either. Other issues I've noticed: - when I pause the game, the redbrick count at the bottom left of the screen lists 10/10, instead of the total 12/12 that I got - the minikit builds from the 4 additional levels (Simpsons, Portal, BTTF, Doctor Who) do not show-up in the minikit lists in the Vorton Gateway menu, I can only see those I got from the original story levels. Anyone else got the update and has these issues? PS3 or other platform? Quote
rob-ot5000 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 More questions! This may be really basic, but how do I unlock/upgrade my vehicles/gadgets into their alternate forms? Is it just spending studs? Do I have to collect something or do it in the items' respective levels? Do I have to beat story mode first? Questions, questions, questions... Basically I'm having too much fun and in no rush to beat the game, but I would like to be able to blast gold bricks with Benny's upgraded spaceship..... Quote

You need to collect studs and gold bricks, then go into the character wheel using the character whose vehicle you want to upgrade and go to the bottom of the wheel (which are the instructions) and that takes you to the upgrade menu. Alternatively you can access it from the portal on Vortron, again only if you are the character whose vehicle is the one you want to upgrade, in this case Benny :) Quote

Thanks for the reply, Hulk_Smash, I'm sure I'll be back soon with more questions. Quote
Yodah Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 You can update the vehicles and gadgets by using the associated characters: place the character on the toypad, and go to Vorton. Then, move the ingame character on the portal platform (either on the middle circle or one of the Ls), and press the show key (Circle on Playstation) to access the Vorton Gateway menu. From there, you can access the Upgrade menu (second item from left). You will have the option to upgrade your character's vehicle/gadget by spending the studs you aquired through the game. Once you spend 10 upgrades for a form of the vehicle (or 6 for a gadget with limited updates), you can upgrade it to the next form, by spending studs AND a few gold bricks. You will access the build instructions for this new piece. When you're happy with your upgrade, don't forget to save the new features on the toy tag (follow the instructions displayed top left of the screen for which button to press). Quote
Yodah Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Huge issues with this last update! (…) The LEGO Dimensions twitter account answered quite quickly and efficiently. They told me to uninstall completely the patch and redownload it from scratch. It worked :) If you are using PS3 and don't want to have to download the 3GB update twice, I would recommend that you first remove the previous patches from your system and then launch the new patch download. (Removing just the patch data does not affect your saved game) Quote
