If anyone could tell me if they know of a minifig scale HMS Victory or any other first rate (100 or more guns) ship-of-the-line, I would love to know what the web address is. I have been looking on BS but I don't think anyone has enough bricks to make one.

Thanks! *sweet*

I'm sorry to tell you I once saw a great Minifig scale HMS Victory, but the page got offline!!

But I can assure you there are plenty of people who have enough bricks to build a Minifig scaled HMS Victory...

If this was in the MOC forum, wouln't we have to have some creations?

We have... You ask for MOCs, we should discuss those in the MOC section.

And I also changed the name to ships of the line, since this topic isn't only about the Victory...

EDIT:

Look! Another Victory style ship!

The HMS Repulse:

There is a MOC by Legopirate83

He currently building the Dos Mas Cervezas

It's probably the only 1st rate ship-of-line built (or being built 8-| ) that's at the proper scale.

Proper scale? It actually looks too big to me, but I guess I am no dimensions expert! I would guess the beam width of such a monster couldn't be more than 50-60 feet- so 45-52 or three studs at its widest, it looks larger than that... but I really have no idea!

Either way, it is a beautiful ship!

I guess it does seem a little big compared to the HMS Victory

The victory's beam is 50 ft and Legopirate's ship has a beam of roughly 60 studs (or 61.8 ft).

I just never looked at that closely and figured that a first-rate would be as huge as Legopirate's X-D

I wonder if Spanish ships had a larger beam though,

but i have no idea really 8-|

Scale wise, I always have used some online Lego scale calculator. I would think 50 feet would scale down around 44 studs or something... so 60 studs would be like 69-70 feet, which seems a little wide to me. Then again I think the beam with in studs for the Phantom is only 30 studs wide at its widest point (beam width) or so, which would be something like 34 feet which might be a little too narrow!...

I'd love for you to elaborate how and where this Lego scale calculator works at the How to Convert Lego Forum.
