snaillad Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Hi everyone, My latest moc is called The Ocean restaurant and is inspired by Miami's south beach area. I felt some of my ealiest attempts on the style didn't do it justice. I thought a 1 storey building wouldn't be as time-consuming as some of my more recent buildings much larger in size which would allow me to concentrate more on the details and refinement. The exterior was done first and I wasn't originally going to do an interior but was persuaded to and I'm pleased I did as it turned out to be pretty fun designing. Anyway on with the pics - There's only 5 this time so i'll put them all in here These are all the pictures from this MOC, if you'd prefer to view them at flickr go here: https://www.flickr.c...s/52656812@N04/ Comments welcome! dr_spock Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Excellent. Very good color combinations and details. The waitress should hold the ice cream sundae more upright. Quote
eurotrash Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Another cracking good build snaillad! You've really captured that coastal Art Deco vibe. Quote
Piratedave84 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Outstanding! For some reason, the thing that appeals to me the most is the blue trim running along the outside; it just 'makes' the model. Very, very nice work Quote
gcanik Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Not enough words to describe this MOC. Totally captured that art deco South Beach look and your interior is stupendous. Quote

Wodanis Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 This is very much a part of Miami! Excellent work Snaillad! I really enjoyed some of the techniques you've employed like the cheese wedges for a granite effect. Quote
eliza Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Art deco is such a challenging style and your design is perfect (yet again). I love the interior as well. Makes me want to go on vacation. Quote
