I don't think Lego understands how much money I'd give them if they released a 501st clone trooper battle pack! Seriously, as long as it had at least 2 or 3 regular 501st clones and a jet-pack trooper and an officer or something it would be the best set I've ever bought 20 or more of since the original clone bp. I'd prefer regular blasters as opposed to the stud launchers but I mainly just need to build an army of 501st clones so idc. I'd also like to see more sets with named clones (Fives, Cody, Waxer, Boil, Echo, etc.) especially before it gets completely overshadowed by the new movies.I don't know what kind of sets they'd be in, maybe an Umbaran fighter, but an updated Cody should definitely have been in Grievous' wheelbike from last year.

I would love to see a 501st battle pack, I'd buy a ton of them.

It seems pretty clear to me that Lego is done with TCW. They can't really accommodate the production of new sets from material half a decade old, whilst a new animated show is running, 6 new films are going to be released in the next 6 years, and a heap of canon content in other media. Maybe this is just my personal bias exaggerating this because I absolutely hate the way Lego reproduced the designs from the show, particularly on head prints and the clone designs.

The 501st is not just a TCW thing. It is a bit unfair that we had a 212th battle pack but no 501st. Perhaps it is because their role in the movie was not exactly kid-friendly...?

(And it is strange that they missed the opportunity of a new Phase II Cody, indeed!)

Speaking of battle packs, I would like to see this one:

Death Star Troopers (II)

- 2x Imperial Navy Troopers (aka Death Star Troopers; the one with the huge helmets)

- 2x Imperial Officers in Black Uniforms (Legends' so-called Stormtrooper officers; with the new caps)

Imperial Navy Troopers

- 2x Imperial Crewmen (like the recent ISD ones)

- 2x Imperial Junior Officers (like the Imperial Officer of the recent ISD, just with Lt. rank pins)

Imperial Space Troopers

- 4x Space Troopers (the canon ones seen when the Falcon lands on the Death Star in ANH)

I don't care if it's Clone wars for the battle pack since the 212th one was great (but the Geonosis one is worthless to me) I'd like ROTS designs or, if possible, Battlefront since I'm hoping that is still the clone faction one can play as in the new game. Whether or not the game will be good or terrible wouldn't matter if I got a 501st battle pack out of it. Why couldn't they make more clone wars sets anyway? It's only been like a year since the netflix season was released so it's still fresh in people's minds. I'll give you that the Clone Wars figure designs were pretty awful at times but I'm not getting any movie versions of Fives, Rex, and the others now am I?

I think there's a chance we will see more clone trooper battle packs....I don't think LEGO is done with them. From what I've seen so far from the new films, we won't get too much variety. I can see a new stormie battle pack...maybe a couple of

flame/snow troopers

, then rebel fighters...there's room for at least two other battle packs as far as I can see. I don't understand geonosis troopers to be honest...I don't even remember seeing them in the films....but I think there's a chance to get mygeeto troopers (the guys with ki adi mundi), 501st, and more importantly, a commander cody phase II! I still have hope. I'm looking forward to the new designs of stormies...they're so cool.

I don't either, the clone BP's still sell VERY well despite the prequel era not being in the spotlight. I just wish they made more well known clone legions.

Hi All

Firstly, let me say this is a great site.

I'd like to start a new thread on the upcomming Battle Figure releases for the Summer/Fall.

For those of you not sure what I'm talking about, here's a link to the Bricker site. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and the others are on the next page.

http://bricker.info/sets.html?year=2015&family=Star+Wars&page=2

The sets due (?) for release this year are as follows:

75107 - Jango Fett

75108 - Clone Commander Cody

75109 - Obi Wan Kenobi (Clone Wars)

75110 - Luke Skywalker (ROJ)

75111 - Darth Vader

75112 - General Grievous (looking at the size of this figure it could be a larger set than the others).

I don't know about anyone else, but as a long time Bionicle fan I am very excited about these figures [see the damp patch].

So, my question to you is (in case you didn't get the direction of this thread), what figures would you like to see in the future? The scope of characters to choose from is huge, and the current released figures cover the Original trilogy and the Prequal trilogy.

I'll start you off with a few that I'd definitely love to see (sticking with movie characters for the moment):

Stormtrooper - Original trilogy

Obi Wan Kenobi - Original trilogy

Darth Maul

Tie Fighter Pilot (can't imagine him in any fight scenes on the living room floor . . . *ahem* . . . but I want one anyway)

Jar Jar Binks . . . HA! KIDDING!

Over to you.

Posted

BTW, as both the Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker figures were featured in the Toy Fair 2015 exhibition, I'm going to hazard a wild guess that they will be in the Summer release schedule along with the Imperial Assault carrier. . . So only two weeks to wait and see?

Never going to happen, but I'd like to see a Leia (ROTJ? or ESB?) or Padmé (Geonosis?)

- Lego tends to give the ladies a bit of a raw deal in terms of figures, in spite of them being as much a part of the action as the fellas!

Hi NNOPMOC, and welcome to Eurobricks!

For future reference, there's already a Future Star Wars sets thread, I'll merge this with it in a bit:

Cheers, Robin :classic:

Hi Lobot

Thanks for the welcome and heads up on the future sets thread. I had wanted to use this thread for a theme specific discussion (Battle Figures). It may only be of interest to a relative few people and by sticking it in a larger, more generic discussion I think the flow would be lost.

Hi Kaitan.

I absolutely agree that Lego gives the ladies a raw deal in terms of figures, and articulated figures in particular. I think the Bionicles only had one (out of the six main characters), Toa Gali (or whichever the 'blue' one was called in other sets), and one in the Hero Factory series, if memory serves.

I was hoping that someone would suggest Leia, and Padmé is an obvious choice to go with the Prequal trilogy figures (which would necessitate an Anakin figure too) . . . and who wouldn't want the Jabba's Sail Barge/Slave Leia figure. . .

I would want an Ebon hawk. As much pieces as millenium falcon.

Minifigs-Bastila, Carth, Canderous, T3-M4, HK-47. Juhani mission and zaalbar arent really needed.

Also there should be a swoop, and openable roof on hinges.

for the new CCBS "battle figure" things, the only one i'd ever buy would be a 2-1B medical droid. But that's never gonna happen.

One thing that I'd buy like fifty of, would be a big TIE creator set. Enough pieces for a few different types of TIE wing pairs (interceptor, standard, proto x1, etc) and a bomb bay segment so if you want to, you can make a bomber. I'd be thinking it'd have a re-designed TIE system, where it's modular and could allow you to make any of these TIEs, excluding the royal interceptor because it's red. This would only encompass standard black and grey TIEs.

twin_ion_engine_variants_by_marcusstarkiller-d81vujt.png

The TIE droids could be part of a separate creator set maybe. I would love to make some of my own TIE variants, and make a few of them for reasons. Obviously you wouldn't be able to make EVERY TIE variant shown here, but it'd be possible to make one TIE, of any of these types, with some parts left over for either a custom variant, a bizarro, or as half a TIE you could finish if you buy another set. I'd gladly pay $100-150 for a large set like this, as long as you get enough pieces. 1000 to 1500 pieces would be good.

So I've been doing some thinking about battle packs recently, and I realized a fantastic pattern that LEGO could use in terms of what Bps get released within the next few years.

It goes without question that we will see Bps for The Force Awakens (First Order and Resistance), but am I not correct in saying that LEGO currently plans to release 4 new Battle Packs in each january wave?

With that said, a smart thing LEGO could do is to release new Battle Packs for A New Hope simultaneously with the TFA Bps, putting emphasis not only on The Force Awakens, but also drawing kids attention even more to the Originals.

So here are my ideas for what these hypothetical A New Hope battle packs could be:

Imperial Forces Battle Pack - would include x2 Stormtroopers, x1 Imperial Navy Trooper, and x1 Imperial Officer. Basically just the line-up from the latest Imperial Star Destroyer, minus Vader and the crewman. The reason that I think these figs would be the best choice for an updated Imperial battle pack is because it focuses on the basics, but also allows you to beef up the higher ranking members of your army, hence the Officer. And the navy Trooper, as it stands right now, are unpopularly rare, and I think we should fix that. The Build itself could simply be a miniaturized Death Star turbo laser, with the two main canons and it could somehow have a green spring-loaded launcher.

Rebel Alliance - Here is where we see an amazing opportunity for really good updates for some seriously outdated minifigs. The Blockade Runner Rebels troopers. We'd get x2 of the blue short troopers, x1 of Captain Antilles (the one Vader strangles), who could easily be collected multiple times and be treated as a Rebel Captain or something, and for the fourth figure, I was thinking either a Pilot or a crewman from Yavin, or another blue shirt trooper. This would be an ideal chance to create a new, accurate helmet for the Rebels. Plus, we could be given different, double-sided faces for all the figs, giving them variety. The build itself I was honestly thinking could be one of those little runner trolly things that we see Leia and Dodonna riding, but with a gunner turret attached, OR this could be a rare chance for LEGO to use a design from Battlefront. Just a thought.

Now, take this idea for TFA/ANH, and apply it to Ep 8/ESB and Ep 9/ROTJ. So in 2017 with the release of Ep 8, we could get both Ep 8 battle packs and Empire Strikes Back battle packs, and same for Ep 9's release.

While theres literally now way I could even begin to think of ideas for Episodes 8 and 9, heres a couple ideas for more updated OT battle packs.

Imperial Snowtroopers - would include two basic snow troopers, one Snowtrooper commander, and an AT-AT driver. While the driver seems lame, the rest of the grouping is perfect. Simple, yet it allows you to really bulk up of Snowtroopers, which has always seemed to be a hard thing, especially now with the new designs. The set itself could have a new, decently detailed and bigger Probot, and perhaps on of those turrets used against the Falcon.

Hoth Rebels - would include all-new updated troopers (likely we we have these in some form soon if those Echo Base rumours are true) x2, a commander (the guy with the moustache), and a Rebel pilot. Yeah, yeah, I've always hated pilots in battle packs, but it makes more sense here than anywhere else to me. The build, rather than making some random vehicle like they did before, they could design a wall/trench thing that could connect to each other, so as you collect these sets, you build a larger trench network.

Endor Imperials - would include x2 updated Scout Troopers (either a new helmet mold, or a recycle of the Kasshyyk trooper helmet), x1 AT-ST driver, and x1 Imperial Officer (black uniform, with one of those new hats in black as well). The build would be simple. Just four speeder bikes. Sure, that may seem like a lot, but it could give LEGO a chanced to really do some tweaking and see how much better they could do with their design. Plus, you could use them for your Rebels as well.

Endor Rebels - would include x2 of the new basic troopers (as seen in the new Tydirrium set), x1 of the commanders (same as the one in the Tydirrium), and the fourth fig I was either thinking could be an Ewok or Pruneface. I'd rather an Ewok, because that would also mean that the build could manly be a tree. Make a smallish tree and have it dump logs down onto the speeder bikes.

So there you have them. It feels like its been a long while since we've gotten good, basic army builders for the Empire and the Alliance, so this would be a perfect chance. Please LEGO, do this!

I just bought Anakins custom JSF aka. the Azure angel and I noticed, that the sticker for the targeting computer in the cockpit has Asaj Ventres Ginivex-class starfighter http://starwars.wiki...ass_starfighter on it. Could this be an inidication that we might see one in LEGO form next year? We did get the Azure angel, so why not have a proper ship to dogfight it even if it is Legends and not canon, but that can change can it?

The ship is canon. It appeared in Season 3 of the Clone Wars. I'd love to see this released as a set - especially if they can include Ninja Ventress, Mother Talzin and a Nightsister.
