Future Star Wars Sets

Judging by the box art of Vader's TIE and this list of the first Star Wars sets, I'd say that it's possible that we could get sets redone from only 1999. Now, as much as that would be disappointing, some sets that I think TLG would redo if this theory is true are...

Landspeeder

A really classic vehicle, and a very symbolic one from the original trilogy. The is the only version made (besides the MINI one) was in 1999. It was a very basic set, and would be great to see again with more modern building techniques. It could be a smaller set, and include Ben Kenobi and Luke Skywalker figs.

Snowspeeder

While I wouldn't want this set on it's own, it would fit in great with the rumored Hoth play set in 2009. It could be similar to 2007's speeder, but maybe a little different.

Gungan Sub

One of the vehicles that stood out to me from The Phantom Menace along with the MTT and Naboo Cruiser, I think this would look great with new building techniques. It could include Jar Jar (I don't care if you hate him), Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan.

Mos Espa Podrace

Instead of doing just Anakin's podracer, TLG could redo the full Podrace set. Along with the original three racers included in the first version, Ben Quadranaro's could also be included. This would be a large set, with Anakin, Watto, Qui-Gon (Tatooine clothes), Padme (Tatooine clothes), Shmi, Sebulba, Quadronaro, and the other racer.

So, although I'd rather have at least one set from each episode for LSW's 10th Anniversary, it's possible that TLG will only redo sets from they're first year, and those are the sets that I think TLG would most likely redo.

Pretty nice list JimButcher , but I think our most possible choice is the sets in the lastest rumor list (I am too lazy to post it here ). The set that I really want to be done and that is the truly MUST for me is the next :

Rebel Medium Transport : $59.99 - The Empire Strike Back

This could include all the awesomeness of the external hull of the vehicle and an awesome greebling too. Also the TLC could put a little cargo bay and a detailed control room. Some flick fire missiles could be added for some playabiltity .

Minifigs: Rebel Commander, two Rebel Troopers and a Rebel Pilot.

Extras: Four blasters and some boxes for the cargo bay.

Idk, Jim, as Tinn-Man pointed out, the Land- and Sonw speeders have been released recently, and I don't think that TLG can improve these any more. The podracer set would be a dream , especially with a commentator cabin with the two-headed guy, but with that many pods, it would have to be some kind of special exclusive like the DS, not to mention it would cost a fortune. And I don't think they would include Quadrinaro - he wasn't even really in the race since his racer blew up. But they could include some of the racers that Sebulba destroyed during the race (the ones from the junkyard set, plus Mars Guo's pod ), perhaps with some kind of fall-apart feature.

However, from your list, the thing that is would most likely to be released would be the sub. That one could definitely use a redesign from its first version. But then again, this vehicle wasn't very popular...

You gave me a neat idea though: How about a UCS Anakin's Podracer with turbines entirely made out greebs! That would be so awesome! They could use a couple of trans-pink versions of the new lightning piece for the energy coupling and the new windshield from the Speed Racer sets for the cockpit!

Great idea Oky Wan Kenobi . I really want that the TLC re-design the pods in some way so maybe the time will say . An UCS Anakin pod could be great with some nice design but to be honest the most memorable pod in the race that could make an awesome UCS is the Sebulba one . But how it could be better... that the TLC release both in an special pack for the 10 anniversary of TPM .

I would love to see a giant pod race set with pod racers some crowd (a decent amount would be nice but unlikely) 2 headed commentator and the Hutt's special box as well as a few pod racers. A make your own pod race kit would be neat with lots of greebles and the like too as well as many some parts to expand your stadium.

A serie of podracer (one per set) with in each set a part to make the stadium and some minifig for the crowd would be awesome. I can imagine maybe five or six different sets with the main podracers (Anakin, Sebulba, Gascano...) one pit droid and one or two minfigs with sand pieces to make the stadium.

Seperatist Dropship (seen in the episode "Rookies" and in the clone wars movie):

It would include a landing platform, 2 clone troopers, 16(more or less) battle droids, 8 SBD, and Asajj Ventress.

Banking Clan Cruiser:

It would include General Greivous, 6 battle droids, 6 droid pilots.

I think is a way to call the detail applied to the actual set with small pieces .

Yeah, exactly. You know, it's the kind of pointless-but-cool technical looking nic-nacs like on the sides of the ISD or the Millenium Falcon. If you still don't know what I mean, here and here are some examples.

Back on topic, some other sets I would like to see redone are the Solar Sailor (although that's already on the rumor list for CW), and perhaps an Episode I Jedi duel. Of course, they're many other sets which have yet to be made, such as the Geonosis stadium and Jedi Temple attack.

In general, I would like to see fewer remakes of previously released sets, and more sets that have never been released. There are a lot of possibilities from every movie that can be used. I personally love the OT more, so I would like to see more movies from them.

Well I have a new idea (I think this is mentioned before but another one is always good ):

Executor Meeting : $39.99 - The Empire Strike Back

It could include a very detailed bridge with some little features like moving chairs and things like that. Keep in mind this could be intended just for fans because the content would not be so interesting apart from the bridge and minifigs .

Minifigs: Now, this is where this set do its justice. It could include Darth Vader (New one of the 10188 set), two Imperial Officers, Dengar (New torso), IG-88 (With more detail), Boba Fett (Maybe with printed arms and legs), Bossk (New minifig), 4-LOM (New minifig), Zuckuss (New minifg) and a Mouse Droid . Minifig bonanza ON!

Extras: A lightsaber, six blasters and some kind of mantain car.

We have more chances of getting a Jedi Council set than this. And even that will probably never happen, no matter how incredibly awesome that would be.
