nrg Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Somebody have new set ideas from this all-new SW animated series? LOOOL Quote
commander1 Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 (edited) One problem, I dont think yoda ever had a personal jedi starfighter. It has not yet been said that he has or will have one. In his younger years, which could be like 350 years, They say still nothing about him with his own ship. I think purists and die hard starwars fans will hate that idea, no offense. I have actually searched it and no real images of a real Yoda Jedi Starfighter has been revealed. I did find this though that looks kind of cool- http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/16701 I do like the shape of the whole ship.. Edited August 25, 2012 by commander1 Quote

But fun aside, i really have no imagination for wise master Yoda to be almighty and also outmanouvre some dogfighting hotshot with elaborated, fancy flying, spinning and rolling in the depth of space. While i seriously think that such would destroy the pursuasive image of a withered Jedi Master like him, i also have to admit that i would not wonder at anything this corpse show called TCW might produce blossoms of (please take note TCW fans: this is NOT directed at you!). North Lego Star Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 New idea : Yoda's Jedi Starfighter Although this would be a rather cool set, I don't see it happening, it justs to much for lego, I'm still suprised that Yoda will becoming with an AT-RT set this year, but sadly I don't think well be getting a set thats less than 40$ with Yoda ever again. frank_day Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I guess the Rancor Pit set may be the Toys R US exclusive for the spring wave in 2013,and perhaps we can have another exclusive for Target like the 9494. My idea for this Target exclusive is Wesell Pursuit(Remade of 7133)with 4 figs(Wesell,Jango,Anakin EP2,Obi-wan EP2)at the cost of $40. I can't understand why TCW Yoda will be in a set featuring a blue AT-RT,until I find Kit Fisto in 8088 ARC-170 starfighter. The three figs in Z-95 set may consist of Pong Krell, a Clone Pilot with new Helmet and ARC Trooper Fives, the blue edition of the ARC trooper in 9488. Quote
jmagaletta Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/story/CVI_The_Clone_Wars_Season_5_Panel_147706.asp DId anyone see this article. It looks like eventually we might see some Republic Commando minifigs. Also their appears to be a new ship, a hybrid style delta 7b/eta 2 starfighter. TLG is usually behind a few years when it comes to TCW but it does give hope for the future. Personally I do not like the new jedi starfighter, wish they would just move to the eta-2 in the show. http://www.theforce.net/image_popup/image_popup_global.asp?image=http://www.theforce.net/2012/cvi/tcws5panel08.jpg http://www.theforce.net/image_popup/image_popup_global.asp?image=http://www.theforce.net/2012/cvi/tcws5panel12.jpg Quote

commander1 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I really dont like the idea of the starfighter. I never thought they would make a hybrid of BOTH Jedi fighters. It does look more like the regular Jedi starfighter than the interceptor. Quote
North Lego Star Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Well, since we recently found out what Series 3 of the Planet Sets will be, I though it would be nice to add my thoughts on them aswell as predict Series 4 of the Planet Sets(I really should post here more) I have to admit, I found Series 3 pretty disappointing... -Coruscant Set: I think lego could have done something else, its not like I hate this set now, nice to get a Episode 2 CLone Pilot finally(I think thats who were getting) but, I would have rather see, an CIS Banking Clan Frigate with a Palpatine or something ahving to do more with Coruscant. -Kamino Set: Really am happy about this one. I pretty happy well be getting an R4-P17 after all these years, this also has a down side to it though which is, this means we'll most likely get Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter this year but, this also indicates that we have like a 90% chance of getting a Slave 1 with Jango, Boba, Obi-Wan and hopefully Lama Su. This one is a purchase for sure. -Asteriod Feild set: I like the idea of an asteriod but, I think that lego needs to stop with all the TIE pilots, I would have gotten this set if I came with a Falcon and a Leia with gas mask face printing instead of the TIE Bomber and TIE bomber pilot. As for Planet Series 4 here are my preditions- Geonosis Planet Set: Solar Sailer and Solar Sailer Pilot-9.99$ Hoth Planet Set: Rebel Transport Ship and Gneral Reeikan-9.99$ Umbaran Planet Set: Z-95 Headhunter and Jesse-9.99$ Thanks For Reading! DFOL Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Not another Jedi Starfighter... You said it! We really don't need an in-between version... Quote
Bobsy Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 You said it! We really don't need an in-between version... Of course we do. Cheap, easy designs all the way up to 2018. Anakin's hybrid Jedi Starfighter Obi-Wan's hybrid Jedi Starfighter Asohka's hybrid Jedi Starfighter Mace Windu's hybrid Jedi Starfighter Plo Koon's hybrid Jedi Starfighter Saesee Tiin's hybrid Jedi Starfighter THEN they can start on the Interceptors for real. TheRedGuy Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Third moon of Vassek with the Soulless One and Grievous. Cheap way to get Grievous. Quote
wesker Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I hate the in-between look too. Thats probably one of my biggest pet peeves about the PT and CW is the need to redesign everything all the time. Remember when we had the same X-Wing fighters and Stormtrooper armour for the entirety of the OT? And at least when we got a new TIE variant it was an expansion to the Imperial Fleet rather than a replacement. Quote
wesker Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I'd like to see the planet sets come with less troops and more unique characters. Especially ones that may not normally be made like Captain Typho, Captain Tarpals or Bail Organa. Even some generic aliens that don't require new molds would be good. We got the battlepacks for Clones and Imperials. Why waste a slot on them in the planet sets? Quote
ablake90 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Anyone think at some stage we'll see sets of the 1313 game, sounds like it has some promising content. Quote
just2good Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Anyone think at some stage we'll see sets of the 1313 game, sounds like it has some promising content. Probably not, since the game might be rated M. Quote
Bobsy Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Anyone think at some stage we'll see sets of the 1313 game, sounds like it has some promising content. Depends really on whether it has an iconic vehicle or small location. The Force Unleashed had the Rogue Shadow, The Old Republic has its six different ships. Some sort of speeder that the character uses in 1313 would be okay, I guess. The game's not out until winter next year, so it'll be a while before we get wind of any sets. Quote
Bobsy Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 I get the feeling Lego are still not quite sure what direction they should take the planets series - whether it should concentrate on named characters (Sebulba, Lobot) or generic troops like the battle packs. Personally I think one of these ideas has legs, the other is doomed to vanish quietly. But first let's look at all the planets featured in the films, and see what's missing. (in order of initial appearence) Naboo - N-1 Starfighter, any of Padme's ships, Droid Dropship, Hovertank, Droid carrier, Republic Frigate, Droid Fighter Tatooine - Podracer, Sandcrawler, Millenium Falcon, Luke's Landspeeder, T-16 Skyhopper Coruscant - Acclamator, Venator, Jedi Starfighter, Jedi Interceptor, Invisible Hand, practically anything else ever Kamino - Acclamator, Venator, Jedi Starfighter, Slave 1, clone dropship Geonosis* - any of the larger battle droids, clone dropship, Acclamator, Slave 1, Jedi Starfighter, Geonosian Starfighter Kashyyyk - Wookiee Catamaran, clone dropship, droid wheel-tank Utapau - Grievous's wheelie-deelie, Jedi Interceptor, clone dropship, Venator Mustafar - Jedi Interceptor, Padme's ship, Palpatine's shuttle Death Star - Star Destroyer, TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor, TIE Bomber, Millenium Falcon Alderaan - Tantive IV Yavin IV - X-Wing, Y-Wing, Millenium Falcon, TIE Fighter, TIE Advanced Hoth - Snowspeeder, AT-AT Dagobah - X-Wing, Yoda's tiny shuttle thing Asteroid field - TIE Bomber, TIE Fighter, Millenium Falcon, Star Destroyer Bespin - Twin-pod Cloudcar Endor Moon - AT-ST, Millenium Falcon, Ewok Glider Death Star II** - TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor, Millenium Falcon, Star Destroyer, Super Star Destroyer, Home One, B-Wing, A-Wing, Y-Wing *While Geonosis has tons of vehicles associated with it, bear in mind the planet has rings, which could possibly be difficult to do on the planet mould itself. **Somewhat unlikely due to the complexity of the mould, which can be speculated as part of the reason the TIE Interceptor was included with the first Death Star And I didn't even include the Order 66 Planets (they would have more relevance to The Clone Wars series anyway). There's at least two more waves of movie planets that can still be done. After that... Well, the closest odds are of course on The Clone Wars taking over. It's an obvious move, and I hope it won't happen. Honestly, I don't think it needs to happen. The Clone Wars is a big enough deal to sell large sets like the Dropship or The Malevolence. It has the stranglehold on Battle Packs. Does it need to take over the planets series as well? No. Will it? Quite possibly. What I'd like to see happening is the planets series being used as a way to get out minifigs and vehicles that would not otherwise be done as full sets. Lobot is a prime example of this. He's excellent booster pack material, as he's made an optional extra, not a compulsory addition to a large set. This idea, including named but lesser-known characters would make the planets series the perfect way to address the Expanded Universe. It's pretty much a given that EU large sets don't always sell so well. Hell, I wasn't even into Lego at the time but even I knew of the shelf warmer status of the TIE Defender and Rogue Shadow. But as mini-scale sets that can fit into a pokeball-sized shell? There's a thought. Not only that, but it's a way to get certain EU characters who don't have an obvious large ship to go with out on the shelves. So taking the popular Thrawn Trilogy of books as an example: Wayland with Star Destroyer and Grand Admiral Thrawn Myrkr with The Wild Karrde and Mara Jade Corellia with Katana Dreadnaught and Garm Bel Iblis Jomark with Imperial Shuttle and Joruus C'baoth Alternatively it would be a good way to explore The Old Republic at minimal cost or risk, possibly with the companion characters: Korriban with Sith Fury and Vette Tython with Jedi Defender and Kira Carsen Hutta with Bounty Hunter D5 Mantis and Mako Ord Mantell with BT-7 Thunderclap and Aric Jorgen Dromuund Kaas with X-70B Phantom and Kaliyo Djannis Balmorra with XS Freighter and Corso Riggs Taris with Harrower Dreadnaught and Dr Lokin Nar Shaddaa with Mandalorian Cruiser and Blizz Belsavis with ISF Interceptor and Talos Drellik Corellia with Thranta Corvette and Doc Quesh with Republic Valor Cruiserand Nadia Grell Voss with Republic Striker Fighter and Lord Scourge Likely? Well, I wouldn't put money on it either way, to be honest. I would dearly LOVE to see the Planets series given over to the Expanded Universe, but I think the lure of doing TCW planets might be too strong. Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Concerning Alderaan, I'd see it with a transparent mould printed with many asteroid, with Grand Moff Tarkin minifig and a mini death star 1 Quote
augustus Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Maybe this is a stupid question, but I was wondering, whose starfighter was orange? Quote
AMC Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 (edited) I think Lego should've included small models of buildings on the planets instead of ships. The ships/speeders travel everywhere...while actual buildings stay on the planet and are remembered for being on that planet. Except for maybe Alderaan...those buildings are far far away from the "planet" now. Edited August 27, 2012 by AMC Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Maybe this is a stupid question, but I was wondering, whose starfighter was orange? Saesee Tiin had an orange Delta 7 starfighter (below), though I highly doubt we'll be getting that new orange Delta 7B-Eta 2 hybrid considering it's not prominent and looks a bit a "forced issue" IMO.
