Only Sinner Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Since we recently got some more information about the Summer Wave sets, I got me thinking about 2014, so here are my predictions for 2014... Winter Wave- -Phase II Clone Trooper vs. GUnner Droid Battle Pack: Phase II Clone Trooper, Shock Trooper, Gunner Droidx2, CIS Armored Scout Tank-12.99$ -Rebel Trooper vs. Imperial Forces Battle Pack: Rebel Trooper, Rebel Commander, Stromtrooper, Imperial Jet Trooper, Imperial sand Tank, Rebel Swoop Bike-12.99$ -TIE Bomber: TIE Bomber Pilot, Admirial Piett, Imperial RA-7 Droid-49.99$ -Target Exclusive Padme's Naboo Royal Starship: Padme, Anakin, R2-D2, C-3PO-49.99$ -Imperial Shuttle: Emperor Palpatine, Imperial Shuttle Pilot, Imperial Royal Guardx2-69.99$ I'm having some trouble thinking of sets for my missing spots, so if you have any ideas I'd be glad to hear them! Thanks For Readind! I really like some of your ideas, especially the BP's, the bomber and updated shuttle. I haven't got past season 3 of CW yet, so I don't have an opinion on much of the new CW stuff. Your suggestions have me drooling. Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 AT-AT's are from the OT btw And the last vader I believe was from the Executor super star destroyer which is still in production but very expensive, so I agree a future cheaper set probably will come with a newer darth vader However your sick of OT vehicles get alot of this years releases as most of them are either clone wars or PT with one old republic set which is classed as expanded universe I guess. Yes, I know AT-ATs are from the OT. I wasn't trying to make a distinction between the two. My point was that I'm not fond of and rather sick of vehicles that have been released several times. Which for the most part seems to be OT vehicles. I don't prefer any particular SW set to another. PT, CW, OT, EU, it's all LEGO SW to me and I love it all. Last year (2012) was a slow year for me and this year (2013) is going to more than make up for it. Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I'd like to see some predictions on what will be in the next Advent Calendar. I'd wager it will be Episode II- and III- centric since those rereleases will be this year. I'm going to guess: - One Battle Droid, no weapon. - At least one ridiculous weapon rack. OK, on the serious side, these sets seem to have 8 "army build" minifigures including plus cutsey holiday character. So I'm guessing: - Both a Phase I and II Clone Trooper, or maybe a Clone Pilot - A Geonosian - A Wookiee (PLEASE not another Chewie) - An Imperial Guard - A buzz droid (the last two calendars both had parts to assemble into a droid) - Another Super Battle Droid? - For the Christmas figure, maybe Jango in a red-green scheme? Grievous with red and green sabers? A red Vader? For ships, I'd guess micro versions of a Jedi Starfighter, Jango's Slave I, a Geonosian ship, a Republic Cruiser, a Jedi Interceptor, a Wookiee craft...what else? Quote
moop Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 oohhh a new Imperial shuttle. that would be nice Quote
Darth Malgus Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 An update on the Tie Bomber would be great, personally I would love to see another Tie Interceptor. Quote
Albus Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 The Hasbro Cruiser looks at least pearly though, from the photo. LEGO could make it in one of the pearl-silver colours, not necessarily chrome. But anyway, I agree, I think that a Royal Cruiser is probably not likely for LEGO to do. Thay have their reasons for not making one up 'til now, even if we don't know them. Quote
ISDAvenger Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) I am not a overly huge SWTOR fan, but I would like to see Lego make either a UCS or a large playset of a Harrower Class Dreadnaught. I think they are awesome looking and display a unique resemblance to the Imperator Class Star Destroyers. Edited January 9, 2013 by ISDIronClaw Quote
nrg Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 For future Planet Sets , i have ideas.: 2014 Series 5 : Geonosis , Geo SF , Geonosian Kashyyk , Wookiee Catamaran , Warrior Mustafar , Palpi Shuttle , Palpi Series 6: Dagobah , X-wing , Luke Tatooine , Sandcrawler , Jawa Death Star II , Imp Shuttle , Palpi 2015 Series 7: Asteroid Belt , Jango Slave I , Jango Utapau , Obi JSF , Obi Felucia , AT-OT , Clone Series 8: Hoth , AT-AT , Driver EP 7 set EP 7 set Quote
legolord Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 So what are your thoughts on the winter wave, do you guys think it will be based on EP III, since it is going to be released in 3D?, I would love to see a new utapau, with grievous and obi wan, and why not a booga. Quote
HJR-Holland Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Quite frankly, the only thing I'm waiting for from epIII is the UT-AT; I've been waiting for that thing ever since the movie came out. I do know LEGO made a prototype for it (see here: ), question is just if they'd ever release it... I'm tempted to build a MOC of it, but in the past i've spent money on a MOC one year, with LEGO released the same vehicle one year later!! Quote
Commander_Rob Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 A UT-AT set would be pretty cool and the prototype doesn't look half bad. Throw in Commander Bacara, two or three marines and a non-CW Ki-Adi and we're good. But since Episode II will also be given the rerelease this year, and looking that image again, I hope some sets from that are in the cards too. l'd like that Hardcell-class transport there. And a re-done Delta-7 that finally does away with the lousy construction used so far and does the beautiful design justice. Quote
Fives Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) After having purchased the new Hoth and Rancor sets recently, I've come to the realization that LEGO seems to like to pick a few certain locations or events from the OT and flog them like a dead horse. Over the past three or four years, we have seen numerous Hoth sets, enough to recreate the entire battle in a decent manner. Same hose for the Tatooine scenes from ROTJ. With the Palace, Pit, Skiff, and upcoming Sail Barge, LEGO will have covered all the major elements of those scenes. What they now need to do is switch their focus and do Bespin and Endor. I know that in the past, people have wanted and wished for a Death Star style Bespin set. I think that would be the wrong way for LEGO to do it. I would much rather see smaller sets that, once put together, create something similar to the old Bespin set, only on a larger scale. As for Endor, I really think they just need to make the tree houses, possibly remake the Bunker (but that may not be necessary) and maybe remake the AT-ST as its own set. After that, ey could maybe do a Cantina set and a Bantha set to get some decent ANH coverage, and LEGO will have covered all of the OT in revamped or new sets. Edited January 17, 2013 by Fives Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) I agree with you, Fives, although I think the only thing left that Endor would really need is an Ewok Village, and possibly a shield generator/landing platform. 8038 remains one of the best OT sets Lego has ever produced, in my opinion, and doesn't necessarily need to be remade this soon (if at all). But I'm with you on Cloud City and Tatooine sets. I would love to see some different Tatooine related sets (i.e., Lars homestead, Obi-Wan's hovel, Mos Eisley Cantina, Anchorhead, etc.). Another Brick In The Wall Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 oohhh a new Imperial shuttle. that would be nice Really? The current Imperial Shuttle is one of the best (if not the best) non-playset SW models. Quote
Zaterdag Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I'd also love to see some Cloud City sets. 3 or 4 sets that combine into one large display would be amazing. But what I'd like to see more than anything is a nice, big Mos Eisley Cantina set. Hopefully with a Greedo. I lost my old one Tatooine , Sandcrawler , Jawa Yes please! Quote
Drock Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 So what are your thoughts on the winter wave, do you guys think it will be based on EP III, since it is going to be released in 3D?, I would love to see a new utapau, with grievous and obi wan, and why not a booga. I think it will just be heavy on AotC and not really RotS. Remember, the films were supposed to be rleased in 3D once per year. The announcement of RotS came too late for LEGO to sneak in sets in the 2013 lineup :/ Quote
Seifer Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I would love to see the Tie Defender or Predator. They look quite cool. And definately without any blue paint on them IMHO. Quote
krispy Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I would love to see the Tie Defender or Predator. They look quite cool. And definately without any blue paint on them IMHO. I agree... it'd be nice to see the 8087 Tie Defender get a makeover in the 9492 Tie Fighter style. I think it'd be highly unlikely though, since the model only appeals to those of us who have played Tie Fighter. Quote

Yeah... still it's nice to think about it Does anyone know what's LEGOs policy on UCS models - do they plan to present re-edited UCS models in a few years, or once they're out that's it? My thoughts here are bent on the possibility for them to do a makeover over their bigger ships and sets. Quote
North Lego Star Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I think this is the only set I would like to see from the most recent CW episodes so far... -Escape from Abafar: Clone Commando Gregor, Wac-47, Colonel Meebur Gascon, M5-BZ, U9-C4, QT-KT, Super Battle Droidx2, Republic Attack Shuttle, Supply loading Area-109.99$ Quote
Faefrost Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Has there ever been a Cantina set? If not, i think there should be one! It could include Han, Greedo (so we can recreate the who shot first scene), and that epic band. In the past Lego was sort of leery of showing the bar area. This seems to have loosened a bit in recent years (See The Hobbit, Barrel Escape, Drunken Elf fest) So I have hope we may see a bar full or weirdo's complete with band. I am not a overly huge SWTOR fan, but I would like to see Lego make either a UCS or a large playset of a Harrower Class Dreadnaught. I think they are awesome looking and display a unique resemblance to the Imperator Class Star Destroyers. Bioware did a wonderful job on many of the ships in that game. Shame about the lack of end game. Quote
wesker Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) Am I the only one that would love to see a Naboo forces battlepack? There's so much focus on clones, rebels, Imperials etc that a lot of the stuff from Episode 1 gets overlooked. Naboo Pilot: Currently available in the planet sets, although an update of the variant without the red trenchcoat would be welcome (and brings us one step closer to Ric Olie) Security Guard: Only previously available in the Flash Speeder about 13 years ago. An update is long overdue. Security Officer: This one requires no effort on Lego's part. Just use Captain Panaka with his head replaced with a more generic one. Palace Guard: The only one that hasn't been released yet. Edited January 21, 2013 by wesker Quote
Bobsy Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Rather a specific request this time: lightsabers in yellow and orange. I was genuinely surprised to find on Brickset that the pieces simply do not exist, not even outside of Star Wars sets. I would very much like to vary up my Jedi and Sith with different sabers, but... *sigh* Quote
derpingsworth Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I'd like to see an updated TIE Bomber,TIE Interceptor,B-WIng,Imperial Shuttle,AT-ST,Imperial-Rebel battlepacks (Normal Stormtroopers and rebels like the original ones) and a Shadows of The Empire Sub-Theme would be amazing. Quote

Black, brown and grey would make ugly lightsabres. I did outfit my Barriss with a pinkish-purple one, it looks pretty nice. Quote
