Chills Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 If you look at the most popular vehicles in the SW universe the AT-AT is right near the top, especially for Imperial vehicles. While the sandcrawler is cool looking, it doesn't have the fanbase of the walker. I think that even though Cuusoo rejected the UCS Sandcrawler a UCS AT-AT is a very real possibility. If you look at the UCS sets that have been made you'll see that the majority of them had system-scale counterparts, and multiple versions of each. We've seen a few versions of the AT-AT but only one of the Sandcrawler. I think the case for a UCS AT-AT is pretty strong. Quote
Tariq j Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Yes, an AT-AT is a possibility, with all these endor based sets coming out I wouldn't be surprised 2009- Battle of Endor 2010-Imperial Shuttle 2011-Ewok Attack 2012-Endor BP 2013-Ewok village Quote
JVM Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I would really like to see Obi-Wan's original Ep. 2 Jedi Starfighter back. The Clone Wars renditions have been nice and all, but I avoid collecting CW sets due to the minifig incompatibility.... and I mean, come on, if we're going to give Saesee Tinn a starfighter, old Ben needs his back! The fact they did a UCS one and just released a mini makes me wonder if there's a small chance a new one might already be on the way... Also, an updated version of Yoda's Hut, maybe as a standalone set this time :D A new Dagobah Luke and maybe a new OT torso for the new Yoda... and I won't cross my fingers, but a murky R2-D2 could be fun! TLG probably doesn't feel there'd be a lot of play features but I think it'd be easily improvised. Last one for now - the Final Duel sets were favorites of mine as a kid, I'd love a new standalone set of it, even if it was marked up. Such an iconic scene, and fits the ROTJ theme well. Quote

Yoda's Hut could work: Yoda's Hut ($30-40): Luke Skywalker (Dagobah), Yoda, R2-D2, and Darth Vader (Illusion). Includes Yoda's Hut with interior and Dagobah scenery with various functions. How would LEGO put a full figure there? The Delta-7s used in Clones with the astromech to the side don't use the whole body; it's just an integrated astromech head. To make that part movie-accurate, TLG just has to take the dome piece and stick it on top of the wing, just as they did in '02. (And they have already done a whole astromech in a wing, too, in 9494. [Which was an Eta-2 and canonically in-universe did have an entire astromech in the wing, not just the head.]) Quote
Tariq j Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 This obi wans fighter thing has given me an idea, how about a set featuring slave I and the starfighter. It can include boba, jango, kenobi and the astomech droid, and perhaps a droideka. Quote

It can include boba, jango, kenobi and the astomech droid, and perhaps a droideka. I imagine that LEGO would split this up into two sets. I mean, they even split up Jabba's Sail Barge with the skiff and Sarlacc. I highly doubt that they would suddenly release two completely independent vehicles in one set. But hey, I could be wrong. Lego Spy Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 (edited) This obi wans fighter thing has given me an idea, how about a set featuring slave I and the starfighter. It can include boba, jango, kenobi and the astomech droid, and perhaps a droideka. Since Lego usually puts a lot of detail into their Slave 1s, I don't see these being paired in one set. Edited September 21, 2013 by Lego Spy Quote
wesker Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I think they're better off released separately. I'd hate to see both ships sacrifice detail just to fit them both into one set. Keeping the two separate would probably also give us a better minifigure line up. Slave I could come with Jango Fett, Boba Fett, Taun We and Lama Su, while the Jedi Starfighter could come with Obi-Wan, R4-P77 and a prominant Jedi character. I hope the next time Lego releases Slave I they find a way to fix the wing mechanism. I never liked how low they sat in flight mode on the last three versions. Quote
caramelcata Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 (edited) I would really like to see a well done Venator. The one that was released 2009 was just atrocious. It very vaguely resembled even the elementary structure, it was far too stubby and the angle of the panels weren't cutting it. The interior of the cruiser was also incredibly limited. A good example of how the Venator should have been made is a similar structure to the CUUSOO Harrower Dreadnought. Other than that, I would like to see some more Naboo themed sets like the J type star skiff or the J-type barge. I find Star Wars lego has too much of the "pew pew, I haz lazor beemz" sets and should really capture some more of the civilian aspects of the setting. Scratch all that. I would kill to get my hands on a Delta Squad set. One thing that makes me sad is the lack of specialized and individuality in lego clones, sure you have rex, cody, wolffe and fox but what would make for an awesome battle pack would be Commando Packs of different squads. Just look at these guys. They would look so awesome. Edited September 26, 2013 by caramelcata Quote

That would be very useful for display! Quote

It can include boba, jango, kenobi and the astomech droid, and perhaps a droideka. The Starfighters are around $30-40 each now and the last Slave I was $70... so that's $100 for both vehicles assuming they don't get chopped up. I'd rather just buy them individually myself. Yoda's Hut could work:Yoda's Hut ($30-40): Luke Skywalker (Dagobah), Yoda, R2-D2, and Darth Vader (Illusion). Includes Yoda's Hut with interior and Dagobah scenery with various functions. Yeah, I think you could fit in the $20-25 price range. Has some important class figs, a major location that TLJ's shown can be rendered in Lego before, and has some cool potential play features - Hagrid's Hut is one of my favorite HP sets after all ^^ Quote

Borex Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 With the upcoming DSgunners in the DSbp we almost have all our characters for the Death Star. So a nice future set would be a small set with a renewed Palpetine and some Imperial dignitaries. Quote
Tariq j Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I wonder if there would be any 15th anniversary sets. Quote
montgocloud Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I wonder if there would be any 15th anniversary sets. Well in '04, there were some OT anniversary sets that made a sort of mock line of 5th anniversary sets. It's not totally out of the question that we could get something during the summer! Quote
legofreak86 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 As we now know the winter line is now confirmed through prelim pics. This is how I could see the summer line going. It is beyond unlikely that Lego will release rebels sets as they plan their waves a year in advance and most likely thought CW was set to continue. The rebels show doesn't even start til autumn 2014 so the earliest we will see sets of that will be Dec 2014. With that in mind here are my predictions: Yoda vs. Sidious senate duel £39.99. This set would fill the spot yoda vs. Dooku did this year. It would include a large podium for sidious and a senate pod. The podium would have a rising feature and the senate pod could be launched from a launcher mechanism which would allow to recreate the pod throwing scene. The bod would also have a flip panel where two characters standing on it would be launched in opposite directions. Includes: Palpatine(brown robes and a paler whiter flesh face with the same sort of detailing as palpatine's arrest but double sided one with a scowl and one with a smile. Yoda (same as Dooku set)and two shock troopers using the new helmets introduced for the Kashyk battle pack next year. Padme's shuttle £29.99. This set would be padme's shuttle from the revenge of the sith scene where she goes to confront Anakin on mustafar. The set would be the design of the ship from the movie with the ramp for boarding at the back and a corridor interior leading to the cockpit. It would also include a opening with a sliding door for obi wan to hide in. The set would include Padme (episode 3 mustafar outfit), Obi wan (hooded episode 3 version from grievous wheel bike January set hair also included), Anakin in brown cape and hood like the palpatine's arrest version but with a cape and hood and c3po. The Emperor's throne room duel £59.99 includes a large scale play set of the emperor's throne room. Complete with opening elevator doors, double staircase, a large platform with designs and the emperor's swivel chair in front of the large observational window. Also has a large area underneath the platform for where Luke hides when Vader goes after him. It also has a collapsing walkway/platform above the top platform which can be collapsed to send Luke falling down the stairs and lever which can launch the emperor over the rails into the reactor off the circular platform. Set includes: Luke skywalker (ewok village design), Darth Vader with leg printing, The emperor with a new tan or very pale white flesh colour for his face and hands with a double sided face one of anger and an evil smile and two royal guards. Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter £19.99 either his JSF from Aotc or his Eta class fighter from rots. depending on which it would be either rots obi wan with printed headset or AOTC obi wan with printed headset and r4p17. darth Sidious's Eta Class shuttle attack (store exclusive) £49.99: Includes palpatine's clone wars shuttle from the episode the lawless. Shuttle includes turbo lasers and an opening back with a spacious corridor and a boarding ramp and a cockpit that swivels up and down and can fit one minfigure. Included in this set are: Darth Sidious CW version with outfit he wore the lawless and a double sided face with shade over his eyes which are yellow and an evil smile on the other side a scowl (equipped with two gold handle red sabers), Darth Maul (the lawless) includes dark grey legs with kneecap printing and black tunic on the torso with a bit of his chest showing through (armed with a red lightsaber), Savage oppress (robotic arm), Pre vizsla (series 4 onwards design) armed with darksaber, Bo katan and Obi Wan (Red mandalorian armour). £199.99 Lego/store exclusive. Cloud city: Includes a large layout of cloud city with a torture chamber for solo a conference room, a landing platform big enough to hold the falcon, A carbon freezing chamber for the duel, a room where Luke gets thrown out onto the catwalk and the catwalk for duelling and underneath the play set an aerial for skywalker to hang on. Play features include opening sliding doors, breaking window for Luke to fall out of. Rising carbon freezing platform, catwalk with breakaway rails and columns, statue in the city with exploding feature. Set includes: Luke skywalker (besbin design with dark tan hairpiece used in millennium falcon set), Darth Vader (with blue and red buttons printed on his torso piece rather than red and green and leg printing. leia (cloud city garb), Chewbacca with c3po on his back with gold handcuffs, R2d2, Boba Fett with leg printing but cloud city armour, Lando calrissian (2012 head and new torso and two toned cape),4x storm troopers one imperial officer,2x besbin guards and Lobot. montgocloud Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I don't think we'll be seeing a large scale Cloud City because LEGO is trying to push sales for the Ewok Village. They tend not to release two huge playsets at the same time in fear of competing with themselves. Quote
Tariq j Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 I'd like to see an LAAT dropship with AT-OT from AOTC, this was a perfect chance to release on as a UCS but lego released the ewok village, if we could see it next wave that would be brilliant. I don't think we'll be seeing a large scale Cloud City because LEGO is trying to push sales for the Ewok Village. They tend not to release two huge playsets at the same time in fear of competing with themselves. That's true, however I personally think the village won't last as long as other playsets such as the Death Star, it's a brilliant set with lots playability, but the the Death Stars in total are seen for about an hour screening time, where as the village is seen for about twenty minutes, yes it will sell, but not as long as the Death Star.
