korpen4444 Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I've just been thinking, and you know what? We need a new Star Destroyer! With Rebels coming I think we'll get this next year: Star Destroyer: Inquisitor, 2 Storm Troopers, 2 Imperial officers, 1 Rebels hero, 1 rebel commando. I also thought of some other ideas: Forest Huntdown: 2 Storm Troopers, 1 Jedi, Speeder, Some Trees. A Rebels tie in set, that may or may not be part of the series. I also thought of an EU set: Sha Koon vs. Darth Vader: The two fore mentioned, a Storm Trooper, the duel room. other ideas are: Lars Homestead: Owen, Beru, Luke, R2,3PO, 2 Sand Troopers Cantina: Luke, Han, Greedo, Pondo Babba, Dewback(only reason I want this), Bith, Sand Trooper. I wouldn't be surprised about a new star destroyer, I saw a video today about Rebels and Dave Filoni mentioned that the crowd became very excited when they showed an image of the CGI star destroyers, so I would assume they would make lots of toy companies would make it, including lego. I really hope they make one though, it's been forever since lego made one in good ol' 2006. I like your EU set by the way, it's a lot different then the sets lego normally makes. Marvelfan120 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 I'd like to see them do some buildings from SW like the jedi temple... Also redo the battle of Endor with the fortress and the huge shield generator this time around... Quote
North Lego Star Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Lego has the three year rule for releasing star cruisers, so I doubt we'll get a ISD next year, but then again with the crazy changes in the winter wave, who knows what the summer wave will look like. Quote
Faefrost Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Wishful thinking on my part, but I would really love to see a Dash Rendar's Outrider set. Otherwise for the upper end sets I think we are due for either a minifig scale ATAT, a nice Sandcrawler or a new MTT. It's kind of a shame that we probably will not see any more TCW sets. There were a few great ships that we never saw in Lego. The Crucible Jedi training ship would have been sweet. Quote

North Lego Star Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 (edited) I don't think there's been an ISD since 2006... Did I miss something? No your right there hasn't been a ISD since 2006, but I'm talking about the three year rule lego seems to have about releasing capital star crusier that has gone like this... 2006=Imperial Star Destroyer 2009=Republic Ventor Class Star Ship 2012=The Malevolence So 2015 would be the next time lego releases a capital star cruiser, just in time for Episode 7. Again though, with all the changes lego has brought within the upcoming winter wave, No one can really predict what the summer wave will look like, therefore it's possible we'll see a ISD if lego abandons their 3 three year rule. Tariq j Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 An ISD would be great the last one was very fragile. Quote

Your point is invalid. Quote
legofreak86 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 An ISD would be great the last one was very fragile. The venator was a set you'd look at for a second and a piece would fall off. A right pain if you ask me. I don't have an ISD so that would be pretty awesome if we get one in 2014. Quote
North Lego Star Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 2011 Republic Frigate. Your point is invalid. That's a frigate not a captial ship such as the Ventor or ISD. Quote
montgocloud Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 That's a frigate not a captial ship such as the Ventor or ISD. I highly doubt that LEGO is really spacing out their capital ships or even takes into account the difference between a frigate and a capital ship. Quote
korpen4444 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 some more ideas: Imperial Troop Transport: Storm trooper(6), Imperial Pilot(2) Imperial TIE Carrier: Death Star Trooper(2), Imperial officer, TIE fighter pilots(2). Quote

I'm thinking that's assuming an intentional pattern where it is likely that none exists. The actual planning probably goes more like "we need a big set? Hmmm? Haven't made an ISD in a few years." And not much more than that in the way of rules or patterns.. Quote
kermit Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I would like to see a new imperial landing craft so that it can accompany the ewok village and maybe the landing pad as well. I think this will have to wait though since I dont think lego plans on doing any more episode VI sets soon. Quote
Glinko Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I know its getting on a while since Episode II but I've always fancied the J-Type Diplomatic Barge..... Would take some work and probably be in the £100-120 bracket but it'd be worth it.... http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/J-type_diplomatic_barge?file=Royalcruiser.jpg Quote
wesker Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I wouldn't say no if Lego offered a Diplomatic Barge, but its my least favourite of the four Naboo cruisers. The Royal Starship from TPM would be my top choice since its the most iconic and had the most screentime. Quote

Tariq j Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I'd like to see a new sandcrawler, it is somewhat accurate to say that we may get a ANH wave of sets in summer 2014. We got a burst of AOTC sets this wave, we're getting a burst of ROTS next wave, so it's possible we might get some ANH sets. Quote

I'm basically saying that lego has a pattern of releasing a capital star ship about every 3 years that has so far gone like this... 2006=Imperial Star Destroyer 2009=Republic Ventor Class Star Ship 2012=The Malevolence 2015=? I'm betting Lucasfilm (Disney) encourages a strong ANH push just before the new movie, to help get everyone amped and thinking about classic OT era Star Wars and characters, and less about PT and TCW. We will probably see some true classic Ep IV sets then. My bet will be a new MF, Darth Vader Tie Fighter and Sandcrawler on the high end. Quote

nrg Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I doubt we will see more than 2 SWR sets , TLG nedds more time to make beutiful vehicles. So they will hold the plan as they do with the first wave. My predictions : Obi's Jedi SF AT-ST Yoda's Hut Final Duel on Death Star II The Inquisitor's TIE Fighter Mos Eisley Cantina Jano's Slave I The Ghost Republic Attack Cruiser Quote
