Robianco Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 (edited) Lego has highly disregarded the many key pilots of the rebel alliance. With the micro fighters i want to see: A snow speeder with wes janson A Y-wing with Davish. I also want a Yavin 4 base: Rebel Guard( regular rebel with spear, 2) Jan Dodonna, Leia, 2 Astromechs, A y-wing pilot (blue helmet deco) Tiree, 2 rebel ground crewmen. Lego also needs to update the death star with all new figures, and add the new gunners to the line up. Jan Dodonna is a must somewhere along the line but Garvin Dreis for me is the one pilot they need to put out there. I'm really surprised they put Theron Nett as Red Ten before Red Leader. I'm not complaining about Red Ten... a new helmet design is great... and the whole body print on that figure is immaculate. We've got Red Two, Three, Five, Six and Ten. I know Red Leader, Four, Seven & Twelve had hero helmets but I'm not sure if any of the others had anything other than the regular blue Insignia? Red Eleven definitely had a regular blue one so we can already make him! A full set of the 12 would be great. Red Twelve's helmet is also Wes Janson's helmet design so that would kill 2 rebels with one shot so to speak... Edited December 12, 2013 by Robianco Quote
jindianajonz Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 A full set of the 12 would be great. I wasn't even aware that you could tell the pilots by their helmets, do you happen to have a picture of the different helmets lego has released so far, or all 12 helmets from the movies? Quote

I'll try and put something together and upload it. A few of the helmets were reused... so although the pilot that wore a helmet in the original Death Star attack may have died the helmet has reappeared in ESB and ROTJ... Wes Janson's helmet is a good example. I know that Red Leader's helmet was also reused by a pilot in the later films. As well as the Red Squadron helmets we also have Gold Leader (Y-Wing) (x 2 versions) and Zev Zenesca (Snowspeeder) along with the generic Blue Rebel emblem that was used on quite a few helmets and is a good filler. It may just be easier for me to photograph my rebel pilots actually... I'll photograph them and upload it to show the helmets. Edited December 12, 2013 by Robianco Quote

BigJoe Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Yes, agree . I do mind when they rehash endlessly (Jedi Starfighter in trillion colors, Jedi Interceptor, Hoth base in million sizes/shapes/names etc) but 6-7 years cycle is completely natural thing to do, if for nothing else than for the advancement of technology. Compare a SW set from 1999 and one from the last two years: laughable, right? For UCS I would perhaps allow a longer 10-year cycle to abide by the (former) acronym, but under no circumstances should MF be allowed to reach such ridiculous prices on the after-market. I would have to say that if they at least make one of every jedi Intercepter and Starighter thatr would be fine but not continous remakes Quote
donbarca Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 palpatine in separatist chains... is it realistic to hope for invisible hand????? or will the malevolence have to do for now...... 2 flagships for grievous is probably overkill:) Quote
Spyderlord Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Oh, I believe we might very well see the Invisible Hand as a large summer set. Separatists have been wildly under-represented so far, and Palpy in chains is a subtle indicator IMO. Quote
wesker Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I disagree. If an Invisible Hand was coming we would have gotten Palpatine with that, not the Tri-Fighter. Quote
Merc4hire95 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Well if LEGO does ever make an Invisible Hand flagship, I will be the first to buy. While I do have my doubts about it being a possible summer set, in a few more years(4-5) it could very well happen. It wouldn't be the first time TLG surprise us with a set we all asked for, cough Palpatine's arrest cough Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I know we've had an abundance of Episode VI, but I want even more! Skywalker Battle: Comes with Luke Skywalker (Jedi Robes), all new injured Darth Vader with a 3 piece helmet, new Emperor Palpatine with a white face as opposed to LBG, two Royal Guards. Set is similar to Palpatine's arrest, but is Emperor's Throne room. Playability has a plate on the ground that catapults Vader down the stairs. Includes a chamber to throw Sidious down, an elevator door, a lever next to Sidious' throne that catapults Luke's lightsaber. Also icludes a platform that falls when Vader throws his lightsaber. Could be around £60-£70. Would love to see such a set! Quote

Well, you already have many of these features in the Death Star set, yes it is a little expensive, but it's such a rewarding set that it completely justifies 2,3 years Lego diet in order to get it! I disagree. If an Invisible Hand was coming we would have gotten Palpatine with that, not the Tri-Fighter. Yes, because it's not common knowledge that TLG sometimes purposefully omits certain key-characters from a set, just to make you buy an auxiliary less popular one... Yes, it would be a set for people who can't afford Death Star. Such as me. Quote

Well, you wished for a 60-70£ set, assuming you can afford two such sets a year (which if you work is not pushing it), in two years you'd have one of the most amazing Lego creations ever made, that I wouldn't change for 10 sets of 60-70£... Flieger Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 It does not seem very popular, but I too would like to see some Senate themed sets - at least the duel between Palpatine and Yoda. But what I really look for is the Senate Guard, preferably the one from TPM. Sadly noone but me will like them, certainly not the kids. Atm, I would be happy about a re-release of the Senate Commandos. Also, with the new Police Gunship, the Coruscant Police is on my list, but with the demise of the Clone Wars series there is little hope. Same goes for the Mandalorian Police and Royal Guards. Quote

Flieger Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Interesting, is there any specifc one you have in mind? I have not followed closely the Star Wars sets until recently. Quote

donbarca Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 well they have announced that 3-4 story arcs will be released to finish of the clone wars early in 2014 so dont rule CW out of the summer line just yet.... cool thing would be a supplement to the police gunship containing bounty hunter Ventress! Flieger Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Lets hope for it! In general I wish for some non-clone Republic military/security personell: - Senate Guard in various versions - Coruscant Police (droids, UGP, Tan Divo) - Mandalorians (Police, Royal Guard etc.) - Republic Navy Personell (young Tarkin e.g.) - more Naboo Security Forces I know the kids like the clones, but well... Sir Brickalot Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) Yoda vs Sidious: comes with Yoda (cloakless) Sidious with white face, Bail Organa. Includes Bail's speeder with space for him and Yoda. Main part of set is a rising centre platform in the Galactic Senate with four other viewing platforms supported by transparent bricks surrounding it. Also includes a small pipe for Yoda to crawl through with a moving floor for Yoda to fall into the speeder at the end of the pipe. Play features could include: one of the surrounding platforms could have a lever underneath it that, when pressed, makes the platform fall. Another platform could have a plate that catapults Yoda to another platform. The third platform could have a hinge plate for Yoda to hang off. Could retail for £50-£60. I would love to see such a set! Edited December 20, 2013 by Sir Brickalot Quote

In one of the DK books, I think the Yoda Chronicles one, there is a full page picture of what looks suspiciously like a set or sketch model of a set of the Yoda Palpatine Duel. It looks like a smaller 2 fig set. Yoda, Palpatine and a Senate Pod. Quote

Sir Brickalot Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) I'm on a roll! Battle of Naboo: Similar to Battle of Hoth. Includes General Jar Jar, two Gungan Warriors, one Pilot Droid, Two Battle Droids. Set comes with a medium sized AAT, and a Gungan Chariot pulled by those orange emu things ( I forget their name). Functions include: flick fires on the AAT and the main gun has a clip for Jar Jar to hang off. Chariot includes a catapult. The chariot would have the ammunition on a slant so it all rolls off when the barrier on the back is released. Could retail £35-£40. Qui-Gon's Demise: includes Darth Maul, young Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn. Set includes a hexagonal shaped playset with a long corridor leading towards it. Play features include: opening doors on the corridor, and a lever that makes Maul fall down a hole in the centre of the hexagon. Includes a clip inside the hole for Obi-Wan to hang. Could retail £35-£40. Clone Rebellion (Order 66): includes Obi Wan Kenobi, Commander Cody, Two Airbourne Troopers, Super Battle Droid, Boga. Set inculdes a Crab Droid, a clone cannon with a technic shooter, and a cliffside. Play features include a lever on the cliffside that launches Boga and Obi-Wan after the cannon shoots a target. Could be around £20-£25. (the cannon is not canon (!) but it's instead of another AT-TE) Hailfire Droid: includes AOTC Ki-Adi-Mundi, silver C-3PO, 2014 R2-D2, one Geonosian, one Battle Droid. Set includes a Hailfire Droid with missiles that fire similar to this in 7066. C-3PO is being fixed by R2. Could be £30. Battle of Endor: similar to Battle of Hoth. Includes 2014 Chewbacca, two Stormtroopers, an AT-ST Driver, two Ewoks. Includes an AT-ST, an Ewok catapult, and a small tree. Play features includes: a firing catapult, flick fires on the AT-ST, and a lever can be pulled on the tree that makes a vine with Chewie and an Ewok swing over to the walker. Could be about £40. Hope you like my suggestions! Edited December 21, 2013 by Sir Brickalot Quote

When thinking Naboo, the AotC pilots would be nice, too... I am wondering: are kids really so clone crazed? Is the Senate Guard or the Police not cool enough? It seems telling that even the police gunship is for some reason manned by a clone trooper.
