Future Star Wars Sets

I think the main thing that stands out to me as missing is Theed Palace. I know most everyone has an opinion on the quality of the prequels, and in retrospect even I admit they weren't as good as the original trilogy. But they were released in the formative years of my childhood. I loved the climax of Episode I, and couldn't wait to see how Lego could depict the epic battle between Obi Wan and Qui Gon versus Darth Maul.

Yet even to this day, it hasn't happened. Despite having some extremely playable scenes (slide the laser gates in and out between the Jedi and Darth Maul! Catapult Obi-Wan to the higher catwalk!), that scene has yet to be represented in Lego. Even when a Queen Amidala fig was finally made, it was inserted into a set from a scene she wasn't even in. And even considering the overall lack of location-based sets, it's surprising that this many years later the closest we've gotten to a Theed Palace set is the paltry scenery in the various Naboo Starfighter sets.

Most of the things missing are locations and not ships, I'm sure Lego assumes or has evidence that ships sell better than playsets, we were very lucky to get the Ewok Village this year, and heres looking at a cloud city in the future, but here's my question, does anybody think there is even a small chance we'll ever see things like theed or the gungan city? Other than the last three years of remakes, the prequels get way less attention than OT so when sets are made, they are usually the central figs and vehicles.

Obviously this topic is not about likelyhood, just what is missing, but i wonder what people think the biggest missing and likely to be made set is. In my mind, any one of padme's silver ships seems marketable and I'm suprised that we've never seen one.

Not trying to hate on peoples desired sets, I want as much variety as possible, I just think there are sets we'll never see, but who knows.

Battle of Mygeeto: Ki Adi Mundi, Baccara, Galactic Marine (purple repaint of the existing snowtrooper, 2), Super Battle Droid, Battle Droid (2). New and improved Tri Droid. Small Republic tank.

Shuttle Tyderium: Admiral Piett, Storm Trooper, Luke, Leia, Han(endor versions), Rebel Commando (2 [Hoth rebel AT-AT face, Bruce Wayne face]).

Jar Jar is the worst Star Wars character ever. Only reason to have his minifig is so you can cast him into sarlacc.

To be fair, we have only ever gotten Yoda in an OT set once. 4502, and that was 10 years ago. So if he only gets OT sets he might have missed him. All the other Yoda Minifigs come from PT or TCW sets. (Granted there is no difference between the old PT and OT Yodas.)

They should do a set with Bail Organa. Something called Bail Organa's escape. There should be added small landing point, two or three clones, Bail, Jedi kid and a speeder. I'd be pleased if they also made a set called Emperor Battle with Yoda and Palpatine and senate room. It'd be great if there was some of the "ships" from senate hall. It'd be nice if these two sets to be joined something like Jedi Defense I and II.

While I agree we need a Bail Organa set, I'm thinking TLG might choose to avoid the set where Bail runs screaming while a 10 year old gets slaughtered protecting him. Just saying it might not market well to their target audience. (Or it might disturbingly market too well, which could be worse.)

Now for Bail, maybe a remake of the Tantive IV in its episode 3 blue livery? That would look distinct and awesome on display.

From what I understand the sandcrawler is not an USC. At least not for,the the retail price,of $299.99.

The blue ship in ROTS (edit: Sundered Heart) was a CR-70 The CR-90 (Tantive IV) was always red, it was in an episode of TCW as well in red.

I have a question, how much of OT and PT will we see in episode vii? Which craft will still around and would it be advantageous to feature such vehicles in sets before launching into the next trilogy?

Obviously there are those who are passionate about either trilogy, will that be taken into,account? In terms of people it's going to have a greater impact due,to time. But there would be locations and such that could very well still exist. Will cloning still be going on? Will the look and feel of episode vii reflect OT, PT or will it be a blend of both?

In terms of why we are getting these exact sets now is part of the strategy to link to the next trilogy?

It depends how far into the future it is set. In the 20 years between ROTS and ANH the Venator appeared to have vanished.

Ah ok, sad to hear that the Slave 1 might not be a bona fide reality this year, but still awesome to hear that the Sandcrawler is probably a go.

I think the only classic ship we have some indication of it making a return for Ep VII is the Millenium Falcon. And then just because the British studio is building a full sized mock up. (It's not 100% certain if this is for the movie! for tourists or both.) past that is any bodies guess.

I think that we're overdue for a plain Rebel Trooper battle pack, though I'm not sure of what could be included. A cannon or base?

Same thing with plain stormtroopers.

I would also love an Ep. III Venator. Or Invisible Hand. Doesn't matter.

With all the Ep II sets that were recently updated, I'm surprised we didn't get a new Hailfire Droid. LEGO moved onto Ep III and we have an idea of what we're getting this summer so although I'm very doubtful, we may be surprised at some point.
