rollermonkey Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 If they actually rereleased 10179, anyone who paid thousands of dollars for one, whether for their own enjoyment for for resale purposes would be PI$$ED! ...and I would be totally cool with it. I hope it's true. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I would love to see a UCS minifig scale Millennium Falcon with an actual interior. Don't think it'll ever happen, though, since the inside-less set was expensive enough already. I'd probably never be able to get one even if it was released. Quote
TheLegGodt Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I own a ucs falcon but would still buy this new set if it was significantly different or better. I would still be happy I also own one of the original 20000 ucs sets the first time around, like a collectors item. I don't colllect to resell. Quote
wondermonkey Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 If there is a new UCS Falcon coming out, I don't think this is it. I'm guessing this was custom built just for this little guy's bedroom. The radar dish looks smaller than the one from 7965, there are gaps everywhere and.......STICKERS!?! Maybe an updated Ep. 7 playset? Quote
Alldarker Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I sold my MISB 10179 Millennium Falcon for a 'tidy' profit a couple of months ago (due to needing some extra cash for moving house). To be honest, I never really liked the look of that version: no interior and I really didn't like the way Lego skimped on the windowless open cockpit. So I most definitely wouldn't mind getting a new version of the UCS MF! Quote
Cammo Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Yeah, the only problem will be: it'll probably include the episode 7 crew with an old Han Solo while I prefer an updated version of Ep 4/5/6. Quote
Anio Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I have 10179, and I don't care if Lego produce a new UCS Falcon or not. But still, it is so hilarious to read how people become crazy when it comes to a new UCS Falcon that I hope this rumor will always remain a rumor. haha. Quote

This should stay an iconic set, which not everyone has. But anyway: the model shown is way smaller as the 10179 (count the studs and compere the dish). Edited July 17, 2014 by tmctiger Quote

DuckBricks Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I would be happy with essentially a rerelease, but with an interior. There are some great mods they could incorporate. I also missed out on the last one, so an improved version would be awesome! Would totally love an interior Quote

Good for you but some people never had the chance to buy a 10179. If they had one they probably wouldn't care as well. ;) Quote
Slurpifier Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 If the rumors are true, then I hope this new version will have an interior, but knowing Lego it will cost an arm and a leg Quote

But still, it is so hilarious to read how people become crazy when it comes to a new UCS Falcon that I hope this rumor will always remain a rumor. haha. That's just... classy. Exactly the type of spiteful comment I'd expect from an immature little child. As for the topic at hand - I'd welcome a new one or a re-release, since I was in my dark ages when the original UCS was available. Since Lego is a toy, and the company doesn't particularly care for those adults who use it as investment or rare collector stuff, I'm pretty sure the fact that those who bought the original one on the aftermarket for a buttload of money will have lost money in retrospective is irrelevant, totally irrelevant, as it should be. GuyDudeMan27 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 If this set were to be remade in some capacity, it would probably be super similar to the old one, which I would be fine with. Maybe some updating here or there, and probably no interior, unless something crazy happened and the average price per piece went down to something like 5 or 6 cents. Besides, the target audience for this set would be AFOLs who would probably put it on a shelf and gawk at it, not kids who would want play features. A remake would be cool regardless, to see how TLG could improve on an already masterful set. Quote

andibandit Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 The MF in the youtube video suspected of being a new UCS,.... well dosn't it look kinda small? Quote
wesker Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I really hope next year brings us a new AAT, Bounty Hunter Pursuit and Flash Speeder/Naboo Battle Pack, because I don't think we're going to see many more prequel sets once Episode VII hits theatres. Quote
Slurpifier Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 As much as I'd like more Prequel trilogy sets, I would like a few more OT sets. What I would adore for 2015 is a new Stormtrooper Battlepack, with just maybe three normal Stormtroopers, and one Shadowtrooper; more or less like a update from TLG's battlepack released in 2008. tmctiger Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 The MF in the youtube video suspected of being a new UCS,.... well dosn't it look kinda small? Yes it is small, it is roughly the size of the Falcon like 7965. And the second thing is, that this is not an official lego-thing, rather an advertisement for a company specialized on building large scale Lego models for companies and private persons. Quote

DarthTwoShedsJackson Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Thanks, Brickdoctor, and point taken! Sadly, this 'rumour' is just that and turned out to be nothing remotely official or pointing at an actual new large Falcon, but on the positive side it just shows how excited people are about the prospect of a new Lego Falcon - which in itself can (and I'm sure will) lead to a new large Falcon set someday. Just be patient. Quote
Dapper-D2 Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I hope we get one soon, but can't say I'm that fond of the one in the picture / video. Quote
neoconagenda Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I would also like another battle pack!!! Quote
Lobot Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 Personally I'd love to have a re-release, or a slightly updated version. It could be a very clever move for Lego, if it's true, especially with the release of Episode VII. There's a lot of SW fans in their 30's & 40's with more money than sense, and a model of the most iconic ship in that scale could attract a lot of new potential customers, as well as addressing the current after-market frenzy for 10179. Even if it was £500+ I'm sure that a lot of fans/investors would buy one, especially if it was a limited edition, just take a look at what happened with 41999! Back in March a UCS-type Falcon appeared in one of the Lego videos (below, courtesy of Anio), I'm hoping that it was a hint from Lego! Quote
