Not really. The sloped part is far, far too long. Its pretty good for UCS scale y-wings, for minifig scale y-wings, but system scale y-wings are like half that, a y-wing is twice as long as an x-wing. The current piece does a good job of representing about the front two sections of a y-wing canopy. A more elongated canopy would be better for Lego's smaller scale y-wings

Yeah if they made it longer it would be better but still not perfect.

The UCS Y-Wing canopy wasn't printed though, those were stickers.

Oh.

There are a couple of sets that SERIOUSLY need to be made:

- Jango Fett's Slave I ----- not UCS, a regular play size

- Bounty Hunter Pursuit ------ with Zam Wessell and the airspeeders, being we haven't got one since 2002 and this is a classic scene

- Rathtar Chase ----- hey, they pulled through and made the Rancor, so why not the Rathtar? Plus this leaves a spot for Bala Tik and the Guavians

- ARC-170 ----- definitely due for an update

- TIE Fighter/Interceptor/Bomber ------ updated, being they are the most classic villain vehicles of the Original trilogy

- Yoda's Hut ---- We thought we'd be getting it this year but got the star fighter instead.

- AT-AT ----- too soon for another?

- Emperor Palpatine's Shuttle (Ep. III) ----- this would be awesome and can include a new damaged Anakin and some shock troopers

- GEONOSIAN BATTLE ARENA!!!! --- this would be a lot to do, but I don't see why lego can't split it into 3 separate sets (each including Acklay, Reek, or Nexu). It would probably sell very well, being that people would want to complete their arena, thus buying all three sets, plus kids LOVE big creatures/animals in lego sets.

Is it just me who wants the Naboo Royal Starship?  I mean to me it is one of the most iconic ships from episode 1 and we still don't have it.

You're not the only one. Its long overdue and I'm disapointed we still don't have one after all this time. Would be great if it included both the decoy Queen Amidala and Handmaiden Padme.

I definitely agree with these ones. Seems a bit soon for another AT-AT though and I'm not really keen on another ARC-170.

That would be amazing yes!  Do you think we will ever see it or do you think it's just going to be a set that never gets made?

I'd love to see it... in chrome.

I'd also love to see a set with Bespin Luke, Bespin Lando, and Willrow Hood.

I think its less likely to happen now with all the attention being focused on the new movies, but I still wouldn't rule it out.

I'd be okay with it coming in light grey or pearl silver. At this stage I'd just be happy to see the ship made.

Of all the sets we could have I think Yoda's Hut (with Yoda and training Luke) along with Cloud City (Lando, Leia, Luke, Bespin Guard variant - we've already got a perfect Han) and a Cloud Car to accompany with Cloud Car Pilot. Not having training Luke as well as Leia Bespin Dress or Leia Bespin Escape in flesh figures are a crying shame (I'm only leaving out Luke Bespin Fatigues and Lando as I have Phoenix Customs figures but they would be represented too). I want the Cloud Car Pilot in my quest to have each Kenner figure released as a Lego figure.

Yes pearl silver would be a great color choice. It could be a flagship set with several different figures (Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Queen decoy, Padme disguised, Ric Ollie, R2-D2, and a few other astromechs). I know it couldn't in canon the Queen's ship can't have weapons, but there could be some battle droids to recreate the scene where the pilots are rescued from capture. (Maybe even a vulture droid starfighter to pursue the Queen's ship?)

I just noticed this the other day when updating some of my han figures that the brown pants from episode 5 and 6 need to be updated to the style found on the new dark blue pants from ANH (in 75052 for example). They are still using that ancient holster print, the only explanation I can think of for that is that they have a massive surpluof those pieces in a factory somewhere. I looked closely at the endor Han from 75094 and it's got dark brown legs instead of reddish brown, and the printed parts of the legs which show the pants and not the overcoat have the newer style holster design featured on the figure with blue pants that comes in 75052. Once there is a stripe on the legs, boots and a holster on both sides of the leg i can stop obsessing about it!

I would prefer sets from Rebels.  For the most part, sets from the movies have been done already.  A TIE Interceptor from Rebels at least offers an opportunity for something new.  Plus Rebels is a great series and has a lot to offer for sets.

Posted

I prefer sets from the movies since there's still so much I'd like to add to my collection, namely:

- Queen Amidala's Royal Starship
- Theed Palace
- Gian Speeder
- New Podracers
- Updated Bounty Hunter Pursuit
- Updated Jedi Starfighter
- Updated Jango Fett Slave I
- Geonosian Arena
- Jedi Temple
- Invisible Hand
- Senate Duel
- Lars Homestead
- Yavin IV Rebel Base
- Updated Yoda's Hut
- Updated TIE Bomber and Interceptor
- Updated Cloud City and Cloud Car
- Rathtar Chase
- Maz's Cantina
- D'Qar Resistance Base
- Starkiller Base

I still enjoy sets from Rebels and TCW although at this stage I'm probably more focused on the missing characters from the shows over the ships/vehicles/locations.

Posted

There are certain sets I can't see happening mainly due to what happened at that location.

Lars Homestead is either a building with three family members doing not very much or it's a squad of stormtroopers there for a merciless murder against two elderly unarmed people.

Yavin Base would be great for us as AFOLs but as the Empire never landed on Yavin IV a conflict or battle would be difficult to manifest (short of just including a stormtrooper or two and just pretending it did)

Yoda's Hut is different as the training of Luke as a Jedi is more interesting a journey for kids to 'play'... they've also got the clash with Vader if needed for a bit of conflict.

Cloud City is a must but we've all been there many MANY times.

I REALLY want some more Force Awakens sets in the 2017 summer wave. That would be so awesome, since there are so many things/characters we missed out on. The Rathtar set should have happened in the 2016 summer wave. It was such an iconic scene from Force Awakens and was heavily in the .Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens video game. Sidon Ithano and Quiggold should be in something as well.

Also, if the rumor about the 2017 Snowspeeder UCS is true, I feel that that is a horrible idea. For the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars in May, we should be getting something more iconic from Episode IV, such as The Yavin 4 Base (like said). Although the model ships are cool, I feel that they are never as great as the UCS sets with minifigs, such as The Ewok Village, Sandcrawler, Assault on Hoth, and Death Star.

Looking back, the 2012 Old Republic sets were actually really solid. I wouldn't mind a few sets based on the new Eternal Throne installment in the summer.

Would be much more welcomed than the awful Lego series Star Scavenger etc.

Do you think we will ever get any rebel tanks? Like the T2-B Repulsor, T1-B, or the Alliance AAC-1? We get a lot of rebel ships but never any land vehicles and I really want one of these to be made.

Seeing they aren't well known and not currently canon I doubt Lego will make them into sets. They are easy vehicles to MOC though, I did that for the T2-B already.

I'll throw my support in for Cloud City/Cloud Car and Dagobah/Yoda's Hut sets.  I also missed out on the last OT Millennium Falcon, so it would be cool if the next version Lego releases was covered in Mynocks and came with updated versions of the mini figures from 4504.

It's amazing to me that ESB is so poorly represented in Lego form, with the obvious exception of Hoth.  Perhaps kids these days don't know/like that movie?
