cottonwood Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Okay, new idea - When TLG is finished with the CW sets, I think it would be smart for them to go back to PT, most notably EP1 and especially EP2. I guess CW vehicles are very much alike to AoTC vehicles, but some of the scenes would make good sets. EP1: -AAT -Droid Ship that looks like a dragonfly, can't remember the class (midi-scale?) -Ani's House (with naked C-3PO!) EP2 -Scene with acklay -Dex's Diner -Kamino -Midi-Scale Slave I There you go Quote
ADHO15 Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I think the trash compactor scene (ANH) would make for a nice small set. They pulled it off well for 10188, and I think those short $400 should be able to get the same kind of deal on it's own. It may be a cheap way to get quite a few figures, like Han + Luke in stormtrooper outfits, Leia and Chewy (who is really nice and quite rare, especially in small sets!)I also think the alternate scene with threepio and artoo near the elevator would work. It could even include a locked door! :) The two sets could be a duo of sorts, kind of like the Final Duel and Jedi Defense sets (with a higher piece count and price) Now that I think about it, those are some pretty stupid ideas for sets, but IMO we're really scraping the bottom of the barrel with OT sets here. I'm just getting a bit tired of all the CW sets. Adding small scenes together like that will eventually become a set identical to the 10188 Death Star. I think TLG did a good enough job making the compactor in the Death Star set, and I don't think they'll want to design another small set containing just one small scene. I agree that there aren't really many more opportunities to make new OT sets, but TLG may surprise us with some good redesigns or sets we thought would be too big for them to pull off, like Chalmun's Cantina or Jabba's Palace, etc. Cool it on the !!!!!!'s and emoticons. This is not a chat-room. "Thank you for your cooperation" Sorry, Kim. I just thought it important to use emoticons when commenting on other peoples' ideas so not to seem as though I'm criticising them or being sarcastic. It, like the Geonosis Arena (also on your list), are long-awaited sets for many PT fans, including myself. A C-9979 Landing Craft would be a great idea, with a good opportunity to build up a Separatist Army if it's a minifig-scale one. I also see TLG continuing this line of midi-sized vehicles for a while too. Just my thoughts. Quote
Xenck Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 (edited) More rebel commandos... their bodies would make AWESOME WWII marines. And also to KimT and Whitefang, it's my bad u guys. I didn't know where to put my topic/reply. To ADHO15, the droid frigate thing from the Clone Wars, which I guess is the Munificent. Also to KimT sorry about the punctuations and emotions. They're just too fun. But yeah back to ADHO15, they probably would mess up the Senate Building with characters and stuff. Cheers once more, Xenck Edited May 25, 2009 by Xenck Quote

If lego could do something like that, It would be exspensive, but well worth it. Quote

-JD- Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 (edited) 30BDs is a tiny bit excessive for LEGO. Good idea though. I would quite like some smaller sets like Final Duel I and II. Episode II- Anakin, two Geanosians and a new door. Then another with Mace and three blue SBDs. Those and a doorway/balcony. Episode III- Obi, R2 and two BDs with some crates and a second with General Grievous and two Nemodian pilots with some controls. Episode IV- two Tuskens, Luke and some tan blocks. Han in diguise, two Stormies and a corridor. Episode V- Luke (Hoth) and two Snowtroopers with crates. Lando and two Uganauts with a doorway. EDIT: Geez, thats a lot of doorways! It took me a while to find, but seeing as we're back on this topic, I'll refer back to what I'd like to see in a C-9979 Landing Craft set: I'd like to see a C-9979 Landing Craft but scaled down to the size of the Republic Cruiser or Imperial Star Destroyer. It could have 2 doors on the front that open to reveal the small vehicle included in the 2007 MTT complete with communications array and pilot. An openable hatch on the top could reveal a pilot and commander droid seated above the vehicle hold. The four wings could be detachable with hatches on the top. Inside the front two it could store 4 plates with 8 battle droids to a plate like in the MTT, giving a total of 32 battle droids and 2 super battle droids lying down in each wing!!! In the back 2 wings there could be 1 plate of 32 guns in each for the battle droids. Also in the back wings, there could be super battle droids with rocket arms and a droideka or medical droid or whatever else. The front wings would have a rotateable gun on the end and there would be two big turrets near the middle on the front wings. What an great set this would be!!! It would cost quite a bit but you could build HUGE armies with loads of different droids in! Some good ideas, and a display of many similar small-sized sets like that would look good. They wouldn't offer much for playability, but would make good BPs if they included generic figs. Quote

Even with new pilot figs, sales of a second so soon after would be much lower. A CIS MTT is a possibility, but I don't think I would buy one. I think there are still many more sets that could be made before they slightly redesign a recent set like that. Good idea, though. I think the possibility of getting your third idea is slim as well. TLG put Gunray in the Sep. Shuttle, so I doubt we'll see him in another set in the near future. If they did make the set, however, I'm sure they would include Ventress, Ahsoka, Gree, Argyus and/or Luminara Unduli rather that so many generic characters. Quote

Picture's have been on this site for months. I just assumed you would have looked round during the 17 days you were here before you posted, or even before that. I'm sorry if you think I'm trying to sound negative or to make your ideas seem stupid, but I'm just offering my realistic ideas on what you've posted. You must realise that it's highly unlikely TLG will release another similar Y-wing set a few months after this one is released. Edited June 1, 2009 by ADHO15 Quote
-JD- Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I would like to see a DS duel set with Starkiller, , Emperor, the senators, Ram Kota and some Imperial Guards with Stormtroopers. Quote
Future74 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 mmm a few thoughts: - a set with Hoth-Luke and Wampa (and cave); - a Rancor (roarrrr) with Malakili; - Tree-home of the ewoks; would love to see those. Quote
SupaaSayajin Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Easy: Executor UCS model !!! ;) and furthermore the obvious still missing: Palpatine arrest scene Tantive IV (which has been announced) New cloud city (which might have been announced) UCS Venator UCS Droid control ship UCS Invisible hand Clonewars: Malevolence (playset or UCS doesnt matter) EU: Doomgiver Quote
Darth Bug Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 It's ESB 30th anniversary next year...the SSD should be a great idea for this anniversary...as a playset of course, a bit like the DS just a supposition that I'd love to see realized Quote

The minifig-scaled Super Star Destroyer should include: - a big commando bridge with many different Imperial Officers - Darth Vader's meditation room with a hologram of the emperor - his room with the motor for putting on his helmet (like in the minifig-scaled ISD) - a corridor with some doors which can be opened to the different rooms minifigs: Darth Vader, Mouse Droid, several different Imperial Officers in dark-grey suits but even in black suits, two Imperial Navy Troopers But since there'll be already two big ships this year (OT: Tantive 4, CW: Venator) and since TLG seems more to concentrate on CW and so reduces the number of OT sets enormously and since it is very supposably that we'll get a big exclusive Cloud City set next year I highly doubt that. I wonder if they would include Darth Vader's meditation room as it was already included in the ISD set. mmm black suited Imperial Officers that reminds me: werent they in the Tantive IV scene in episode IV? Rijkvv Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 UCS Venator That sounds like a great idea to me. There has already been released an UCS Imperial Star Destroyer, and the Venator will be smaller at the same scale. I have to say the Venator (the ship, not the LEGO set) looks more interesting than the ISD in my opinion. Although the ISD looks awesome, the Venator looks less boring. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 (edited) I'd be VERY happy to see more FU sets like Junk Titan $45.00 USD (Starkiller, Kazdan Paradus, Junk Golem x2) and Mandalorian Basilisk $30 USD (Starkiller, Chop'aa Notimo, Mandalorians x2) Edited June 8, 2009 by Clone Commander Assassin Quote

Greetings, JD It would be a gret idea but I think, if my memory is good, that the gunship you are talking about has a similar color scheme and decorations as the new dropship so it seems unlikely and you could build your own one quite easily using both the attack gunship and the dropship. nevertheless, it would be awesome to see more clones variations (we only get the gunner version this against last year Rex, Cody and Fox). I would also love seeing more weapons for the clones, like a quad cannon or some rockets. Quote
