I...don't know what to say, that's quite alot of sets! I could see most of these selling great, although "air taxi" and "valurum's shuttle" might not have much appeal to kids. It's insane we still don't have a lucrehulk, though, and overall, this is a great list. I'd think we're most likely to see the trade federation vehicles, which is fine by me if they're anything like what you've come up with. Cheers, I think the Airspeeder Taxi could work as a small set and has some cool minifgures in Sabe in her black Queen outfit and an Alien driver. It would be a small set too. Valorum’s shuttle was just put in their as a remote chance...most likely will never happen. Honestly enjoyed creating the list and to be honest the film-once you take away the expectation and don’t treat it as a life or death experience you appreciate it a lot more. Hence why I really went all out on the sets because I’d love for Lego to redo all the prequels again for collectors who never got the chance to collect the sets from 2011 onwards. TLJ grew on me after a few watches albeit it’s still poor and really screws up the sequel trilogy imo. I like a lot of the sets you have listed good job. Would pick up those smaller sets for sure and that AT-ST. I think you could have included Tallie’s Blue A-Wing and have her with a better helmet than the Micro-fighters set and then C’ai Threnalli too. Edited May 23, 2020 by ArrowBricks Quote
Agent Kallus Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 (edited) Here's 2 ideal waves I'd like to see, but know are far too wishful. (Note: Battledroids are made completely from simple, unprinted, single moulded parts, therefore I will not treat them as minifigures when considering set size and pricing but instead treat them and I would any other bricks, however I will list them with minifigs as they are still characters) (Note 2: I have probably made a fair few spelling mistakes, but spellcheck doesn't work for star wars words)(Note 3: Since it is an ideal wave, all clones/stormies and other minifigs would be in a consistant movie based style, regardless of the stlyiations of the animated shows they may have come from) There will be spoilers (Depending on what you consider a spoiler) First Wave Spoiler Mircofighters Moff Gideon's Tie VS The Razor Crest - Builds are mircofighter versions of the titular ships - It would include the following Minifigs : Moff Gideon, The Mandolorian (Full Beskar) -£17 Boga VS Wheel Bike - Builds are mircofighter versions of the titular bikes/lizards - It would include the following Minifigs : Obi-wan, General Greivious -£17 (Not the most unique suggestion, but hey it's a good Idea) Magnaguard Starfighter - the Build is mircofighter versions of the titular ship - It would include the following Minifig : Magnaguard - £9 Zeta-class cargo shuttle - the Build is mircofighter versions of the titular ship - It would include the following Minifig : Bodhi Rook - £9 Battle Packs Scarif Troopers - Builds are a cargo container (same as on the Hover Tank set) and the lever (with an exploding feature) - It would include the following Minifigs: Stormtrooper x2 Death Trooper, Shore Trooper Umbara Troopers - The Build is a Vixus creature - It would include the following Minifigs: 212th Clone Trooper X2, 501st Clone Trooper, Umbaran Militia solider (new helmet mold) First Order Troopers - The builds are a FO interpretion of the MTV-7 and a First order flag - It would include the following Minifigs: First Order Stormtrooper x4 (They would use the TFA style of helmet printing and would also have a variety of reused heads under their helmets, not just angry clone) Regular System Sets Ewok Encounter - The build would be of the log area where Leia met wicket, with an area for wicket to hide underneath - It would include the following Minifigs: Leia (With hat and hair), Wicket, Scout Trooper (With new helmet that can flip open like they do in rebels, made similarly to the MCU Iron made helmet) - £16 Bluurg Chase - The builds would be 2 brick built Bluurgs and 2 speeder bikes - It would include the following Minifigs: Kuiil,Scout Trooper (same new helmet), The Child, IG-11 (I wouldn't count those last 2 as Minifigs, but they're still characters so they go there) -£20 Senate Duel - The build would be a standard senate pod - It would include the following Minifigs: Yoda. Kit Figsto Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 @Agent Kallus Love some of the ideas, and love some of those prices even more! I guess I'll give my "dream" wave a go: Microfighters: Coruscant Speeder Chase: Zam Wessel and Anakin Skywalker's speeders in Microfighter form, includes their minifigures as well, $19.99 Slave I: ESB version, Boba Fett, $9.99 Cloud Car: Cloud Car Pilot, $9.99 Battle Packs: Aleena Relief Mission: Commander Wolffe, 3x Wolfpack troopers, a couple of crates, and a BARC. $14.99 (Hey, I can dream, right?) Cloud City Citizens: Includes 2x Bespin guards, Ugnaught (new outfit), and Willrow Hood. Build is a small scene with one of the white sculpture thingies on Bespin and something to represent the furnace/junk room for the Ugnaughts. Small Sets: Death Star Duel: A small 3-sided vignette with an opening blast door on the front, moving platforms for them to turn and "duel" and a trapdoor for Ben Kenobi to drop into (best way I can think to replicate him disappearing). Includes Ben Kenobi, Darth Vader, and a Stormtrooper. $24.99 Malastare Tank: RX-2000 Republic Tank. Includes 3x Battle Droids, Anakin Skywalker, Captain Rex, and Commander Ponds or a regular white clone. $34.99 Lars' Homestead: Essentially two smaller versions of Ben's hut stuck together. One is the garage/workshop with the oil bath and model T-16 Skyhopper, the other is the kitchen/dining room with a table, cups, and blue milk. Includes Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru, Luke Skywalker, and C-3PO. $39.99 Medium Sets: Battle of Genosis: Includes one of the pillars, the Geonosian prisoner cart and animal pulling it (brick built). Minifigures are Padme Amidala (arena), Anakin Skywalker (arena), a Geonosian warrior, Count Dooku, and 2x Super Battle Droids. $49.99 Endor Bunker: Small shield generator build that can explode with a button press, sliding blast doors, and a couple of tree and catapult side-builds. Includes Han Solo (Endor), 2x Rebel Trooper, an Ewok, a Stormtrooper, and a Scout Trooper. $59.99 B-Wing Prototype: Folding wings and rotating weapons, along with a bombing hatch that can be opened, similar to the Y-Wings. Includes Hera Syndulla, Quarrie, Commander Sato, and Sabine Wren. $79.99 Large Sets: Luke's X-Wing: Includes the X-Wing with clip-on moss for the wings, and a small build for Yoda's hut (smaller than the set from a couple of years ago, closer in size to the 2003 set). Minifigures are Luke Skywalker (Both his flight suit and Dagobah training outfit), R2-D2 with mud, and Yoda. $89.99 or $99.99 Scarif Citadel: A build a bit larger than Vader's castle, it would include a ground level with the Imperial command center, second level would be the room with the control panel for K-2SO to operate and a sliding blast door, which would connect to the room with the data storage tower. That would lead out onto the roof level, which has the antenna control lever on a balcony that can collapse with the push of a lever, and an antenna that can turn. The ground would have some palm tree details. Might also come with a midi-scale TIE. Includes Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, K-2SO, Director Krennic, 2x Imperial Officer, 2x Death Trooper and maybe a TIE pilot if it comes with the ship. $119.99 Republic Gunship: Includes 2x Gunship pilots, 2x shinies, 3x battle droids, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and a P2 Commander Cody. $139.99 UCS: Minifigure scale U-Wing fighter OR The Ghost. U-Wing: As movie accurate as possible, with a cargo/troop bay that connects to the cockpit. Cockpit can seat two. Foldable guns on either side behind the doors that open just like in the movie. Also has a flight mode and landing mode with the wings. Basically just a beefier version of the 2016 one with a larger troop bay and a taller, longer, and wider stance, since I think that one captured the look and shape of it pretty well. Includes Cassian Andor, K-2SO, Jyn Erso, and Bodhi Rook. $199.99 The Ghost: This one is definitely never going to happen, but may as well give it a shot anyway, right? About the size of the UCS Falcon, probably over 5,000 pieces (I'm working on one right now and just the hull/lower level is already at about 1,000 pieces, so I would imagine the full model would be around that size). Fully detailed interior with lower level cargo bays, nose and roof gunner stations, detailed cockpit with space for over 4 minifigures, the four crew quarters, airlocks, and lounge room with holo-chess. Includes Ezra, Hera Syndulla, Kanan Jarrus, Sabine Wren, Zeb Orrelious, and Chopper. Also includes either the Phantom I or Phantom II, maybe somehow make the parts as close as possible and give the option to build either, sort of how the Falcon can be either the OT or ST. (Again, haven't finished Rebels, so please no spoilers if something significant changes over the course of the last few episodes of S3 or any of S4). $699.99 I could probably see a couple of these sets being made, and a couple are just remakes of stuff that I never bought initially and are way too far out of my price range now, but some are absolutely not happening. I also realized I forgot to give a set that more logically fits Ahsoka, so I just stuck her into the Gunship. I'd also like a Venator remake, but couldn't definitively put it over any of the other large sets, so I'll save that for next time (and I'd probably put Ahsoka onboard that). Quote

That is, if Lego even considers it a subtheme. Maybe we'll get a $25 duel set a la Duel on Naboo, but again, that was before the first true Duel set, which started last year with Kylo vs Rey. Quote

I could also see a larger set in the form of some of the older duel-based sets (Naboo, Vader vs. Luke part II, or the Dooku vs. Anakin, Obi-Wan and Yoda) based on the Invisible Hand duel. You hear us Lego? "Do it!" Quote
ArrowBricks Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 Duel sets actually need to have Lego Bricks. So the tatooine version of Maul and Qui-Gon won’t happen- all there would be is perhaps Maul’s Speeder. Obi-Wan vs Vader ANH, Luke vs Vader ESB, and Ahsoka vs Maul (although not sure these new variants would come in such a cheap set if I’m honest) are the main candidates. The Invisible Hand Duel and the Duel on Exegol involves more than 2 characters and in most cases more than 3 so unless Lego wants to return to the larger duel sets I can’t see these being made in these small duel scenarios. Personally a Palpatine Vs Yoda with a senate pod or two could be a really interesting set that I don’t think has been Mentioned here. Quote

Technically, the Duel on Exegol only has two main combatants (Rey and Grandpalpatine), with Ben only arriving late-battle. It's very much Rey's showdown. So technically, if they didn't do a Final Duel esque set, and only did a $20 version, it could work. Senate Battle has been suggested many times before, to the point that it's odd Lego hasn't made one yet. Besides, does it even count as a "duel"? More like a curbstomp. Even so, I think Duel on Exegol is out of the $20-$25 range due to the fact that Palpatine didn't have a lightsaber in that battle. Mace vs Palpatine or Yoda vs Palpatine could work quite well in the $20 range though. I'd prefer a larger Senate Duel though, because of the extraneous figures (Coruscant Guard ftw ) This makes me think of that Saga Duels poster, stacking all the major lightsaber battles across the (at the time) 7 films plus Rogue One. What are kids meant to do with the terrain exactly? Place the speeder and vaporator on and that’s it? Furthermore just because a set has been released in the past does not guarantee its future as a set. Just my two cents anyway! Quote

The terrain on Tatooine does not provide any functionality unlike Starkiller Base, Naboo, and Mustafar. What are kids meant to do with the terrain exactly? Place the speeder and vaporator on and that’s it? Slash the vaporator, obviously. Besides, unlike Mustafar, Starkiller has nothing to it but the split-feature. Which honestly would make up most duel set candidates at the $20 price. Quote

Place the speeder and vaporator on and that’s it? Furthermore just because a set has been released in the past does not guarantee its future as a set. Just my two cents anyway! As @ARC2149Nova says, Star killer base really only had the splitting thing and random stuff to knock down. The speeder itself provides enough play value on its own, and adding a feature to knock the vaporator over would make it a set. You’re right that sets being released before doesn’t guarantee a rerelease (where’s my tie bomber ), I just meant that they’d done it before so it wasn’t out of the question. speaking of TPM though, I’ll do a wave for that, since I started with ESB and went through TROS, although it won’t be as good as the one you made and probably have some ideas from yours as well. Build is some of that naboo architecture with the balcony they swing down from. other sets: Vulture droid attack ($19.99): Correctly sized vulture droid with 2 battle droids and obi-wan sebulba’s podracer ($49.99): podracer with sebulba, 2 pit droids, wald, and Shmi The Duel of the Fates ($69.99): large duel area with the catwalks, ray shields, hole for maul to fall into, and some naboo hallways on the sides. Honestly good job, hadn’t thought of a Naboo Palace Rescue type set- would remind me of Prince of Persia and Indiana Jones type sets (7571 + 7197). Watching Attack of the Clones this evening so expect a set list based on that in the coming days! Quote

Watching Attack of the Clones this evening so expect a set list based on that in the coming days! Yeah, that prince of Persia style for it would work great! Attack of the Clones is next for me, too, but as someone who only likes the last 10 minutes of the film it’ll be tough for me to make a wave . Certainly not one as big as your TPM wave. Quote
