Future74 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Mandolorian BP would make sense after CW season 2 and since KimT also mentioned it I'm starting to believe in it. @wesker - Aurra Sing; I hope so, you've got some good points. - Seperatist Super Tank; I doubt it, wouldnt make a nice, playable set. - New Millennium Falcon system scale; mmm yes please. Already excited to hear some real rumours and the first prelims... Quote

RileyC Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 For next year I am really hoping for a system scaled Millennium Falcon. I think a re make of it is long over due imo and it would be great to see one. Cloud City would be fantastic but it would need to be USC to fit everything in and then it would be out of my price range. I think they should leave hoth sets out of next year cause they have pretty much released all they can for hoth. I would love to see the return of episode I based sets because some are really due for re makes and it would be great if they gave us a Padme minifig! Quote
anakinvader101 Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) I think they should make: 1: A jedi and clone battlepack. Jedi: 2 jedi with 1 saber, 1 jedi with 2 sabers and 1 jedi with a double bladed saber. Clone: 3 clone troopers and ep 3 anakin with a blue lightsaber, black cape and hood. 2: Mustafar control room. minifigs: ep 3 anakin with blue saber, black hood and cape, 4 security battle droids, nute gunray, wat tambor and other seperatists. 3: yoda vs palpatine. minifigs: yoda with green saber and emporer palpatine with black cape, hood and red lightsaber. 4:anakin's dreams pack. minifigs: shmi, tusken raiders with gaffeti sticks, padme and obi-wan with brown cape. 5: birth of the twins. minifigs: padme, nurse droid, baby luke and leia, obi-wan, yoda and bail organa. I'll come up with more, I just need to think of the first. Edited August 5, 2010 by anakinvader101 Quote
sok117 Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 - Seperatist Super Tank; I doubt it, wouldnt make a nice, playable set. How could that not make a playable set, it just screams playable, think about it supertank Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 How could that not make a playable set, it just screams playable, think about it supertank I think it's because if ever there'll be a lego supertank, there would be less playability compared to other sets, since it just looks like one massive block of plates with a couple of blasters on the side and the ever-so-popular flick-fire missiles on the top. Smack Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Well back to the discussion about the Mando BP's, I think it is a relatively good possibility. With the release of the new Boba helmet/figure it sure would be a waste of a new mold if Lego didn't use it again. & with the Deathwatch in multiple Clone Wars episodes it is a viable option. I understand the assasin droid didn't sell that well and it would be good for Lego to appease a lot of people and make a lot of money with a Mando BP release. If there is another Clone BP, I think it should be either phase 2 or possibly an ARF PB. They have been seen in multiple episodes and the new helmet would be a welcome addition. Phase 2 might be more probable because of the re-release of a phase 2 trooper in the Swamp Speeder. But I would have to say a plain old phase 1 re-release would be a huge letdown IMO. Quote
Future74 Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 With the release of the new Boba helmet/figure it sure would be a waste of a new mold if Lego didn't use it again. That having said it also goes for the new Imperial pilot helmet (TIE-Defender), so a TIE set or TIE Collection set or BP or magnet set (or..or..or..) with this minifigure would make sense too. I would love to get my hands on more of them. Quote
Blackicep8ntball Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Don't take this the wrong way at all... I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and I've loved the Lego sets. But, I almost feel like SW Lego has had a fantastic 10 year run, hugely successful, and maybe it's time to end this line and bring us something new. A return to the old space lines, maybe, or a whole new space line. I really think the Star Wars line has blocked out other space sets (I don't really count the new space police...). The other thing is, I'm more worried that if the Star Wars line continues, they're gonna ruin a good thing; i.e., TLG should stop while they're ahead. The massive influx of stickers and increased prices, as well as the move away from more traditional, Lego-y figures (i.e. the rubber heads on the aliens, more detailed, action-figure like figs, etc)... I guess it's starting to worry me. Ultimately, I'd rather lose the Lego Star Wars than lose the classic Lego characteristics, if ya know what I mean. Probably an unpopular position to hold, I know... but surely someone out there must feel similarly . Quote
Bobskink Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I understand completly, but I doubt that will happen any day soon. The Clone Wars are still running and it seems the sets keep being popular. Quote

End the license with a big bang and make room for classic space again. As you all might know I'm a big fan of SW Lego, but with all these re-releases (some needed and usefull because of more curved parts) the theme seems a bit stretched too long. They could make one great final year and then Lego SW will be remembered as classic and profitable or it will fade away. But TLG is just in it for the money and not for glory, so it will probably be extended. Which doesn't bother me either... so whatever happens, I'm a happy man. Unless the end of license means the end of this forum... I don't want to miss you all of course!!! DR Quote
Mace Windu Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I'd love t osee some Geonosian sets next year. Considering the Geonosian episodes in season 2 it would be stupid of TLC not to. Here's what I think would be cool: Super Tank: It would feature the tank, Luminara Unduli, 2 Battle Droids, Super Battle Droid, and Ki-Adi Mundi (Yes I know he's not supposed to be here but LEGO has added random Jedi into sets before.) Geonosian Trooper Battle Pack: It would feature a small vehicle, 2 Geonosian Troopers, Geonosian Trooper Commander, and a Geonosian Flamethrower Trooper. Those would probably be the only Geoosian sets as the main hype will be on season 3. I can't tell what will be in store for season 3 but Shaak Ti and some Kaminoans look like a big possiblility. OneSnowTrooper Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 A lot of people, that think LSW should stop because it's running a long time, reason from their point of view. Sure for you and me it's running a long time and sets get re-released but what about all those kids/AFOLs who only now start with the LSW serie ? they are a "new" target for TLC and for them older sets are out of reach. I assume TLC will continue with LSW for years to come. Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) There are so many things I want But i really want a; EpIII battle pack with, 3Galactic Marines and Commander Bacara (with the skirt things, not sure what they are called) Also a bp with;Commander Neyo, 2 AT-RT scouts and a Clone paratrooper Finaly a new AT-RT with a proper AT-RT scout. These are my wishes but probably will never come true. What could happen is a mando bp in with each in different colours likehere. Although I am very worried about getting the same things again like loads of clone wars phase1 sets. All of this is my opinion and wishes. Thanks, CB Edited August 5, 2010 by crabboy329 Quote
Penitent Tangent Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Since the Phase II troopers are coming in the next season of Clone Wars, I think it's pretty likely, along with a mandalorian pack. But we saw our first named minifig for a battlepack in 2010, so perhaps we'll see that trend continue. Although that was someone who could more or less be used as a generic pilot, so who knows.. I'd definitely love to see a Shaak Ti minifig, we finally got Aayla this year, I think she's the next big one. I was also disappointed we never got an Aurra Sing, so again, as she seems to feature quite heavily in the new season, I think there's a good chance we'll see her. New sets that include some of the rarer guys would be nice too.. Perhaps another Rex, Ventress and even Obi-wan has been pretty sparse. I'd also love a new system scale Falcon and some new midi sets. Maybe a midi Death Star. Quote

I assume TLC will continue with LSW for years to come. Thank You for standing up for kids like my son. He has just started his LEGo journey and Star Wars is one of the key draws for him and his friends. Through Star Wars I have gotten him to think about Kingdoms and we shall see where it goes from there. As for re-releases, I am glad LEGo is doing it. When an old set sells for a weeks pay because it is "retired" it leaves the kids empty handed. The re-release allows the kids a chance at the iconic sets like Bobo Fett's ship but because LEGO changes them it leaves the retired set as unique. Quote
Penitent Tangent Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 It's not even just the kids. I only got into collecting the SW Lego sets two years ago, so I've thought a lot of the sets that people here moaned about just being more re-releases are great. I think some people need to realise that not everybody has been following Lego for as long as they have, and if you're at the point where you're tired of them, perhaps it's just you that needs to stop. Again, not that the Clone Wars has just really started to take off, it'd be pretty silly of them to stop the line here. Quote
Blackicep8ntball Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) Haha well, it's good that your kids are enjoying the SW sets, Daniel's Dad. Buut... there will always be new kids coming in and discovering Lego... I mean, I even remember wanting older space sets that were retired shortly before I was old enough to begin collecting. Not sure TLG should keep SW around just because new kids/collectors missed them. There would be new sets to catch the interest of new kids, just like there always has been. I really wouldn't mind TLG going back to the "Lego Legends" and re-releasing the same old sets again. I'm not concerned about the value of my old sets going down due to a re-release of the same set - heck, the more the merrier. I just would love to see some good space sets that bring back the feel of the classics. Edited August 6, 2010 by Blackicep8ntball Quote
DarthSion Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 After reading the 2011 rumour thread, i want it to be, or a set like the ship Sugi had in that bounty hunter mission where Obi Anakin, and Ashoka crashed onto Felucia, and it to have Embo, and a Rancor. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) Regarding ending the SW license: (I apologize if this is a bit off-topic, I just have to give my .02 in this issue) First, it's highly improbable as of the moment, considering the success of the on-going TCW series. Second, LSW, is the #1 source of revenue for TLG, IMO. TLG stands to lose a lot of $$$ and fans (kids and AFOLs like me) if ever they do end LSW. Third, I think it's a bit too selfish to ask to end one license just to give room for another. Can't other themes coexist with LSW? Why end LSW when you could just add the 'requested' Classic Space, right? Edited August 6, 2010 by KielDaMan Quote
kamigawa Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Well, speaking of the future 2011 sets, I just hope there will be another huge UCS set. Maybe, if the 10212 will sell well they will consider making another 3/4000 pieces UCS set. I'd kill for an UCS Venator or, even better, for an UCS Redemption. Make it 5000 pieces and I will dish out 500 euros without the slightest regret. Quote

Why end LSW when you could just add the 'requested' Classic Space, right? I completely agree - it's unlikely that it'll go away anytime soon, and I'm certain it's a huge money maker. I would love to see the two side by side. Thing is, it's very unlikely that TLG's license with SW allows them to do that. It would be like Wal-mart allowing both a McDonalds and a Burger King in the same store - they're competitive to each other. So, solution: Lego Legends with Star Wars Quote
DarthSion Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 AT-UT, and a really cool UCS set for once. Quote
