I think for ROTJ 30 Year anniversary they could follow 2010 set releases.

For ESB we had:

Snowtrooper and Rebel Trooper battle packs

Wampa Cave

Slave 1

ATAT

So in terms of ROTJ I envision:

Cantina Band "Battle Pack" and maybe Ewoks Battle pack (But it all honesty I dont really see this happeneing as it is not very marketable for kids)

For a Wampa cave like set they could do a Rancor Pit set. Jedi luke with robes fights the rancor and you build a large portculis/door to crush the rancor. Throw in a giant lego bone for the Rancor to chew on.

Slave 1 sized set possible endor set. With ghost Jedi!!!!! yeah like that will ever happen.

ATAT sized set would be Jabba's Palace. Modular so you can add Rancor pit. (one could hope) Add the various minifigs you want. Jabba, Boush Leia, new Solo Carbnonite, etc.

OOh and a Midi Super Star Destroyer

Also ive been wanting this for awhile to be made into lego, but it never would be - The T series tanks T3 tank, T2 tank, and the T4 tank default_wubnew.gif

Also This guy would be one awesome fig along with some Clone commando's like the ones from Traviss's republic commando books.

Yeah I remember that small droid speeder (looks like a mini-AAT tank) in a Hasbro set, that would really make a fine BP vehicle. However, as much as we want to have those cool-looking tanks, I've always believed that for some vehicle or character to have a good chance to become part of lego set, they should at least be featured in the current CW series. Very rarely does TLG release sets that are not based on the CW series and the movies.

Yeah good point!

Its kinda sad though, seeing such cool vehicals passed by for newer vehicals which are still nice, but just not as good as some of the old ones. :sadnew:

Great ideas and for the super pack we could have Rancor pit with Jabbas palace and cantina band BP :cry_happy:

Just like the 2010 super pack

Mmmmm... Rancor... Sweet! It would really be nice to finally have this in lego form, especially with TLG releasing at least one new SW creature the past couple of years, following the footsteps of the Taun-Taun and the Wampa.

I'm just not so sure about the Azure Angel and Ventress' fanblade, since both of them appeared in the cartoon series years ago. Maybe if they make an appearance in the current CW series. Though I doubt the Azure Angel since it can be just easily made using Plo's JSF as Oky demonsrated. Ventress fanblade probably has a higher chance between the two.

Any set with the long-overdue updated Padme would be great!

I think you missed the recent season 3 clone wars trailer because ventresses fanblade fighter was seen and will be in season 3 of the clone wars so it has a really good chance

Yeah I've read about it in a discussion, but I have yet to see the trailer. It would be nice to see this in lego form, a decent-sized set and the perfect way to get Ventress in a cheaper set.

I am still patiently waiting for the ultimate collector AT-AT!It should be in the $400-$500 range and have at least 5,000 pieces.

The giant disco ball lego set(death star)was the lamest set I have ever seen! But the second one with the minifigures made up for it I guess. The falcon was never my favorite ship and I wish lego would stop creating another one every 6 months in a slightly different scale. So I did`nt get the $500 monster.

I did get the star destroyer though.

That's the one set I need to be satisfied.

Seriously!

NOT!

Well, speaking of UCS, we should really get an UCS Venator. We already have the midi-scale one, but that happened also with the Star destroyer.

3000+ pieces should do it justice, and I presume that quite a lot of people would be willing to dish some money for it.

I would do so in a matter of seconds, for what it counts.

On the other hand, I'm quite sure that, following the trend of the last years, the next announce will probably sound like "Hey world, look! New UCS! Ultimate Escape pod! 70 pieces, an R2-D2 and a D3-BO with a new black line on its torso (so uber-new that my brain melted from the excitement), only for 200 dollars! Who could resist such a bargain? Next time, UCS Death Star's Mouse droid. 1 piece. If you are asking for the price, it means you can't afford it".

I'm hoping that the introduction of Midi scale sets means that some of the capitol ships will get some much needed love. I'd love to have UCS versions of a Venator, a Nebulon-B frigate, Home One and the Executor etc, but it's unlikely (and probably ridiculously expensive.) Midi scale versions should be a lot more do-able and still work well as display pieces.

I realised something yesterday. I got the Battle of Endor set cause my Fiancee wanted the ewoks. After looking at the older style ones, boy what a difference.

Then it donned on me that TLG created a brand new mold and utilized a new tampo process just to make three different colored ewok heads.

If they are willing to go to such lengths, we might have a chance at Cantina band. Other than magnets, I dont think the Ewoks are used in anything else right?

I desperately wish I could've gotten the $500 monster, but I never could afford it. I've never been able to get any other minifigure-scaled version of the Millennium Falcon, either, though to me it's such an essential part of Star Wars.

I'm amazed you seem to think they do it a lot; the way I see it, they go for long stretches without offering it, considering how vital a part of the classic trilogy it is. As I see it, there are certain elements of the original trilogy that are so "classic" they should be regularly available for as long as LEGO is doing Star Wars as a theme - perhaps not continuously, but they should never go for too long without having some official set available for such iconic vehicles (characters, locations, etc.). I think the Millennium Falcon is pretty much at the top of the list of such classic vessels, right alongside X-wings and TIEs.

I agree. There's onmly been a few TIE fighters made, and the last one was in 2205. Seriously? I think they need to realease a grey and black tie fighter soon, mainly because of it's 'classicness.' We have, however, seen one version or anoter of the Falcon moist of the time.

Because the Ewoks are made in China.

Just like the Tauntauns and (presumably) the printed Gungan heads.

well, after the statement posted on the official 2010/2011 News thread, I feel there's a chance the Venator will become an UCS.

A giant set means thay are aiming for something either big or full of details. There's a limit to how big you can make a ship. I mean, a 1 mt long Star Destroyer makes perfect sense, while an X-Wing that big would be ridiculous.

I suppose, as other have said before me, that they'll either release a venator/Executor/some giant CW series ship I don't know or some kind of city or diorama filled with minifigs and whatnot. I have no ideas for the latter, since they have already released quite a few CW sets, and I haven't seen even one episode of those (I don't like the Clone Wars concept itself). Maybe they will sell a diorama of an important CW city or place, to reel in the children.

I'm doubting TLC making an UCS Venator, people might think it's to similar to 10030. and the fact everyone seems to be making huge venators and such. I would like to see another Separatist ship (Control Ship, Malevolence, Invisible Hand, Landing platform). My droid forces are lacking :cry_sad:

On the other hand, you could consider that people are making more and more Venators because they like them, and that means an UCS Venator would be quite well received.

You are right, they made them only for the Endor playset and I assume chances are not too high for another set having them too soon, if TLC doesn't go for including one in a possible Endor BP.

Well, after all the new pieces they made for the Collectable Minifigures, then considering their retail price and limitedness, everyone (including TLC) should know there is no excuse anymore for "expensive new molds". Aliens galore I would say!

(And another 2 cent for this nice thread, I thought by myself the other day: "Hey, if SW is burning in the moment and SW Lego is like hot cookies⁵, why not make more sets?" I am not talking about the Hasbro-Madness, but 2 Battle Packs in the summer and an additional 2 mid size sets in summer as in winter. And for the BPs, try the Indy and PoP approach with a small scene and 3-4 different figs, including the heros. Will sell like much much more cookies PLUS milk.

BPs eg.: R2, 3PO, Jawa and Escape Pod / Tarkin, Vader, Officer plus bridge scene / etc etc. - you get the idea. )

I agree- I've wondered why LEGO doesn't do this myself. There are plenty of little sceanes which they dismiss for bigger sets. For example, the fight on the Tantitive IV would make an awesome set as it is.

Vehicle-based sets are more recognizable, offer more play opportunities, and are generally more popular among kids than scene-based sets.
