Brickdoctor Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 AT-AT pilots and AT-ST pilots should just be called Imperial Walker pilots IMO. That would avoid a lot of confusion. Lord Embo They're both called Imperial Army Pilots, but no one uses that terminology. Quote
Lord Embo Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 They're both called Imperial Army Pilots, but no one uses that terminology. I know that. I just think it would be easier if TLG decided to call them Imperial Walker Pilots; Imperial Army Pilots would apply to all pilots used by the Empire, and that would just be confusing. However, I don't mind them being classed as seperate by TLG; it's less confusing that way. Lord Embo Quote

The walker pilots are the only Army pilots. Quote

I don't often look at the Empire Army and when I do, the names I give them are based upon TLG's naming of the soldiers. Lord Embo Quote
Skafte Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Well, a person piloting an AT-AT is an AT-AT pilot, no matter what uniform he wears, right? (Awaits onslaught of flaming, screenshots and quotes from Wookiepedia) Quote
Mr Man Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 This is all a bit of topic but: The 'AT-AT Pilots' are the walker or ground vehicle pilots of the Stormtrooper corps of the imp army, the 'AT-ST Pilots' are the imp army's walker or ground vehicle pilots. The Tie pilots are the imp starfighter corps branch of the imp navy, and the death star gunner are the imp navy's version of pilots. Confused? Quote
DarthSion Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I don't care what it is in, but I want those red clone guards with the big shields, and those robot cops,oh maybe one of those speeders they have, with Master Sanebah. Yeah I know spelt that wrong. Quote

Actually, you're completely right, except that only AT-AT pilots pilot AT-ATs, so only AT-AT pilots are AT-AT pilots. Ritz Brick Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 They're all imperial pilots to me. Except they have their different armour for certain terrains. IMO: I dont think SWBF1 is the best reference. They always called snowtroopers stormtroopers, even though they are the same unit just in different uniform. Back on topic. Do you think the curves in an X-Wing might be to difficult for a midi? I'm hoping thats what the next one will be. Quote

Compared to other ships like the B-wing or N-1, the X-wing is pretty angular. There was a decent Midi one in the Yavin base prototype. Quote

Praiter Yed Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Wait, there are pictures of the Yavin Base prototype? Anyone got a link? It was pictured in the Lego Star Wars Visual Dictionary - if I remember correctly it said it was a sketch model that would not go into production. Link Quote

Link Shame, I wish that would have gone into production. It would have been a fantastic set. TLG should make intructions so we could make it our selves. Thanks, CB Quote

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing something similar to 7666 Hoth Base - A temple front with a tower, maybe a small briefing room section and a system scaled X-Wing (Biggs?). Throw in a Rebel cart and I'd soon be parting with my hard-earned cash. Quote

Thanks, CB I don't think it would be that hard to reverse-engineer, and that prototype was pretty rough, so you would want to mod it anyways. And Biggs does deserve a remake. Quote

And Biggs does deserve a remake. I knew I had this somewhere... Might help a little if someone does decide to reverse-engineer it. I can't help but wonder with R2-Q2 appearing in 7915 Imperial V-Wing Fighter, and the fact that "During the Battle of Yavin, a similar droid was used by Biggs Darklighter", whether we may actually see Biggs and a new X-Wing in the next 2-3 years. Could TLG resist the temptation of selling us the same droid under a different name? Quote

Someone else mentioned in another topic that the X-wings not contain pupiled Luke and Han, so TLG must've started another production run. That should keep the set on the shelves for at least another year, I think. Quote
slimninj4 Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I want more midisets. Would love LOVE more ships. even a midi ATAT and ATST. Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) I do agree with you both Brickdoctor and Praiter Yed that it wouldn't be that hard to reverse engineer, But I dont think its worth making for real cause better models could easily be made. Although saying this I may try making a LLD version of it myself, Any input would be greatly appreciated . Just started and realised it very hard (almost impossible)without more pics of the inside , sorry guys. Thanks, CB Edited November 26, 2010 by crabboy329 Quote
brickbuilder Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Those minifigs in the Yavin temple look pretty cool. I don't think they've been in any other sets, have they? Quote

It's funny you should mention the hoth base talking about mini/midis Because that set WAS to mini scale it would be perfect to stick a bunch of mini snow speeders in their! Quote

I don't think they've been in any other sets, have they? Not in one set, but as a sketch model all the minifigs are made from previously manufactured parts. All of them can be made from minifigs that were in other sets. Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 (edited) Too bad. Yeah sorry about that. Although its snowing where I am so I may give it another shot. But does anyone know what size the green baseplate is? Is the whole thing symmetrical? Should it be dark bley or cream like it is in this model (yeah I dont know my star wars to well and wookieepedia didnt help)? Thanks, CB Edited November 27, 2010 by crabboy329 Quote
