brickbuilder Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I really want to see the return of phase 2 clones. After getting that one (with an amazing new print ) in the Swamp Speeder, I was hoping for some more in 2011, but I guess not now that we've seen prelims . A re-re-release of of the Gunship as mentioned above, as well as the AT-TE, but maybe in a ROTS/Utapau theme, with 212th clones, Obi-Wan, Cody, and Boga. And maybe Tion Medon as an exclusive fig. Also, does anyone know if/when the Clone Wars cartoon is going to switch to phase 2 clones? I'm hoping for season 4! Then I'm sure we'd be getting lots of phase 2 troops. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 They seem to be behind on a lot of stuff, like Eta-2s. I would think, though, that Phase 2s aren't too far off after the appearance of the Phase 1.5s in S3. Quote
BrickArtist Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 At that size, though, you'd only have room for two, maybe three levels, with the spires being decorative. Seems like something TLG would do though. They wouldn't make an accurate temple. I really want to see the return of phase 2 clones. Maybe TLG could go up into the $300-$400 range; after all, the Temple is basically a tan sci-fi Taj Majal. At that scale, the spires are 4-wide. A far cry from minifig scale, but a 'fig would fit inside. Quote

That would allow all the figs needed, Quote
Fives Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I've always thought that TLG needs to return to some of the Attack of the Clones stuff. For example, they could make the arena battle scene, with the Reek, Nexu, and Acklay, along with a bunch of Jedi and Droids. Only instead of doing one big expensive set, they could release four smaller sets that, when attached together, make the full arena scene. So in each section the bulk of the set would be the spectator stands, and then you would get some pillars for the prisoners or something, and in each set you would get different characters. In section one, you could get one pillar, Anakin, the Reek, a bunch of droids (done in that cool sand red colour from back in the original Geonosian fighter) some SBDs, and then some Jedi. Each section would feature different key characters, and the whole spin on it is to collect all the sets to make the scene. I think that would be awesome. Quote

And I've noticed that the chances of AOTC remakes and new sets has got higher, because if TLG is doing all of these TPM sets in 2011, come 2012 there may be waves more dedicated to AOTC, and 2013 would be ROTS. We can only be hopeful. Quote

Too bad that TLG made the battle of Endor set and the Mon Calamari set back in 2009. That really lowers the amount of material they can grab from. Maybe a new Jabba's Palace with a Rancor! Quote
KingDom Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) 2013 will be the 30th Anniversary of RotJ, so I'd expect a lot of stuff from that movie. Perhaps wave 1 could be dedicated to RotS and a slightly early wave 2 (May - for the anniversary) could be dedicated to RotJ. EDIT: Also, brickbuilder , I think in series 3 episode 1 there were a couple high ranking clones in phase 2 armour so maybe they will start encorporating them in the coming episodes/series'. Those high ranking clones in the premiere episodes of season 3 were ARC troopers, and the helmets were a merge of the phase 1 and 2 helmets, with the main body being phase 2 while the fin at the top is still phase 1 style. I think we could be seeing possibly a new Kasshyyk set, with some of those wookiee warriors, possibly new ones, and some different vehicles, along with a new Yoda. The Yoda could be the same as the original, but just give him a new body print and some eye printing, like the new Jar Jar. Quote

And I do wonder how TLG will make characters from films (like Yoda) after making their CW counterparts. Quote

KingDom Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Yoda's non-CW fig has already been made... Sorry about the misunderstanding. What I mean is if they release a future set with Yoda (as an example) not set in the clone wars then I wonder how the figure will look. They cn't exactly use the old one, it's a bit outdated but the CW version would be out of place. Quote
Fives Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I think that one fig that needs a serious make over (non-CW style) is Dooku. We got him once before in the duel set with Yoda. If they redesigned him, a perfect hairpiece for the character would be the new malfoy hair from HP. Quote
commanderneyo Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) Commander Colt was one of those Phase 1.5 Troopers along with 3 Unnamed ARC Troopers. Though we will see Phase 1.5 ARC's again later this season in the form of Echo and Fives Edited January 1, 2011 by commanderneyo Quote

George Lucas said there'd be at least 5 series' of it so chances are slim for another couple of years. Quote

I am loosing faith on the 3D star wars though, I've been hearing news about it for at least 5 years now. Quote

Once In A Lifetime Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I really think that they should make some sets of stuff that wasn't shown in the movies, or took place after the movies, such as Palpatine's clones, or Boba Fett's escape from the Sarlacc. I'd really like to this Darth Maul: Fighting against Obi-Wan, at 16 BBY. I could imagine it, it would come with Darth Maul, Ben Kenobi, and maybe even Owen and a very young Luke. But, I think I may be wanting something that may never happen. Quote

If TLG were to continue with EU it should be more Force Unleashed. I got the Rogue Shadow, and hoped they would release more, but it never happened. The chances of TLG drawing off of less popular material is practically non-existent. But thats what MOCing is for, right... Quote

It appeared in only a couple comics. Quote

I think the resurrected Maul vs Vader is considered canon though.. I'm still hoping they will consider making some sets on the upcoming 'the old republic' MMORPG, but probably unlikely as well, we just got to face it that these EU sets are not good money-makers, but we can dream.
