Surfer Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Look man, in our country 10179 was 580 EUROS!!!Thats 800$, so 580 isn't that much how it seems. But I agree with you, I overestimated it a bit. I will put 500$ Quote

That's sort of what I was getting it. If it cost $580 in the States, just how much would it be in, say, New Zealand... Edited February 25, 2011 by fallenangel309 Quote
KimT Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 I urge you guys to be realistic in this topic, otherwise this is just spam and I'll shut it down for good. Plus if you all just rant away with unrealistic wishes, then chances are none of this will ever meet the eyes of a designer. So stay cool and "Stay On Target!" Please Quote
Fives Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I'd rather have some more Prequel battlepacks as opposed to '08 series battlepacks (like we've been getting), but eh... Ya, we are in desperate need of a rerelease of the AOTC Clones. A battle pack with four plain, generic white clones would be fantastic, and no new molds! They would HAVE to be the original helmets from 2002. Quote
Lord Starkiller Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I would love to see more Force Unleashed Sets... I Know it Wasn't Even Cannon, but there could be some Awesome Sets like......... prateek Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I think from 2012-2018, we might get battle packs pertaining to which 3D movie comes out in theatres that year. Here are my predictions: Ep 1: Gungan BP and Droid BP Ep 2: Geonosian BP and Clone BP Ep 3: Droid BP and Clone BP (or maybe Clones vs Jedi?) Ep 4: Rebel Trooper BP and Stormtrooper BP (like 2008) Ep 5: Hoth BPs again Ep 6: Endor BPs Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 (or maybe Clones vs Jedi?) I highly doubt the oft-suggested Jedi Battle Pack. It just wouldn't work with a faction that is composed of a bunch of unique characters. Wookiee BPs might work better, continuing off your theme of alien BPs in the first two sets. Quote

After four years, we still haven't had our Geonosian, Wookiee, or Ewok battlepacks (though I feel the Neo-Clone Wars - it was in the poll, so that means I can use that term again, right? - are partly to blame; I'll bet we would have had Wookiees instead of assassin droids that year). Of course, with the ever-rising detail and molding on minifigures, I suppose an alien battle pack would now be possible. Quote

I think that, if we were to get alien battle packs, they would most likely be Geonosian, but unfortunately CW, due to the release of the new Geonosian in the summer. But for next year, seeing as the BPs will be OT (and Endor is most probable), Then I could see the Rebel BP to have two Endor Rebels and two generic Ewok warriors, along with an Imperial BP with two Stormtroopers and two Scout Troopers. Brickdoctor Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Then I could see the Rebel BP to have two Endor Rebels and two generic Ewok warriors, along with an Imperial BP with two Stormtroopers and two Scout Troopers. Judging by the format of the Snowie and '11 clone BPs, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Imperial Endor 'figs was a naval trooper. And I'd like that. They're too rare as is. Quote
BrickArtist Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Eventually TLG will run out of ideas for their BPs, and will have to resort to individual PT battles, random OT factions, and the EU. Quote

DarthR2-D2 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Or they could go back to releasing small vehicles like AT-RTs and A-wings as individual sets again. I hope they do. That used to be what I got all the time little $7-70 sets. That's all I as a 15 years old can afford. Quote
StoutFiles Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 The Force Unleashed is canon; it's just that some people may not be able to accept the idea of Vader having an apprentice as canon. Lucas -"There are two worlds here," explained Lucas. "There's my world, which is the movies, and there's this other world that has been created, which I say is the parallel universe—the licensing world of the books, games and comic books. They don't intrude on my world, which is a select period of time, [but] they do intrude in between the movies. I don't get too involved in the parallel universe." Everything but the movies is not G-canon, which is all that matters. Lucas lets the other versions exist because they make him money, but they didn't happen. Quote

I take that quote to mean - not that they didn't happen, but they happened in a time period other than that in any of the films - if they're licensed, then they ARE canon.... Lucas - "The Star Wars story is really the tragedy of Darth Vader. That is the story. Once Vader dies, he doesn't come back to life, the Emperor doesn't get cloned and Luke doesn't get married..." G-canon is all that matters. The events after Episode VI are canon, but they aren't G-canon, so they didn't happen according to Lucas. All other canons (T, C, S, N) exist if only to rank the plausibility of other events aside from the movies. Quote

Fives Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 This canon conversation is becoming off topic... I hope that LEGO does go back to those little sets that have more unique minifigs, like the old set that came out in 2002 with Dooku and Yoda. But I also think that TLG should keep the BPs. Possibly TLG could release the BPs during the January wave, and then have one small set in the summer with more specific characters, like Jedi or Sith. Quote

My vote would actually be another pair of small sets in the summer wave-that could go against each other like in the BPs. Accurate AT-RT, versus a Crab droid, ect. ect. This way OT fans and PT/CW fans could both have a little something. Quote
DarthR2-D2 Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 I have an idea that blow TLC's mind.... A Battle Droid BP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like the one in 2007 (I have it actually) They are most army-building people in PT Who wants an army of assassin droids or mandos? (They're mercenaries!) Quote

This would be a good idea, but I was just thinking today about the AOTC sets from 2002-2003, and how few I got. I was thinking how it is funny that some of the most crucial characters from the movie (Yoda and Dooku) were in the smallest set, when the generic figs (Clones, Jedi Bob, droids) were in the most expensive. I think it is unfortunate things have changed now. It would be nice if some of the new PT figs coming out this summer (Qui-Gon, Maul) were in small sets with little scenery things and the figs.
