Infernum Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Counter to Blufiji's build (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=106989#entry2166644) Ulandus has revived several ancient keeps in Kaliphlin. When the Desert King stole Sands End's food supply, the city was desperate. Luckily, Ulandus offered its protection and food supplies to the residents of the town! No villagers will be killed by orcs on this day! Here the Ulandians can be see guarding the keep. Hope you like it, and that I properly countered! Quote
Graham Gidman Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Oh yeah, I love this build! So well done! Quote
Halhi 141 Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 (edited) Nice! Seems odd to see dirt (dark tan) above the grass, though. Edited March 22, 2015 by Halhi 141 Quote
LittleJohn Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Excellent build! I really like that you made the towers angled Nice work on the tudor section too Quote
Jacob Nion Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Fantastic castle wall. The dark bley areas are a nice touch. Quote
Kai NRG Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 A fantastic counter Infernum! Really like the dark grey patches, those merge incredibly well, and the tudor style section looks great! Quote
Maxim I Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I really love the architecture here and the base!! However it is not really Kaliphlin-stylish... But then again , it is located in the North of Kaliphlin, so their style there is a bit more "Western" Approved though!! Quote
Garmadon Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Superb build Infernum, excellent job on combining the stone and Tudor sections! Very nice landscaping as well! Quote
Blufiji Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Impressive counter to my build. The wall is really textured and the landscaping is nice, though I feel it could use more sand and less green. But that's just me, wonderful job. Quote
Adair Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Amazing work! Love the stonework and the whitewash! Not saure about the colors for the landscaping, but other then that, amazing! Quote
MassEditor Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Excellent texturing on this keep, the dark grey mottling is a great touch. The stone work on the upper portion of the keep towers is particularly impressive. Great work! I have to echo a few others on the landscaping, it seems a little too Mitgardian! Also, I would have suggested placing some black construction paper or something dark behind the build when photographing it so the hollowness of the wooden section wouldn't have been so evident. Nevertheless, a top notch build! Quote
Robin Creations Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 As always, fantastic build! I love the walls, but like ME said, I think the wood section could have something behind it Quote
soccerkid6 Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Definitely a great build Your stonework is amazing as always, and the inclusion of the tudor section between the towers look fabulous. One small suggestion is to add some arrow slits/windows to your towers in the future Quote
Gideon Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Excellent build and photography! I like the wall texture and the minifigs very much Suggestion for improvement would however be to cover up the back side of the gaps between the towers and the wall since there is a tad too much of a visible gap there for my taste.
