Nice pics everyone. I especially like smokebelch's pics - you have the right touch for this.

After six months of hibernation, a new picture.

Wow! This is fantastic! Is the blur a photo edit?

Thank you! :)

Yes, the blur is photoshopped. I experienced with different layers and blur effects to make the picture feel as vibrant as possible.

Seems like my lego-photography season is opened now. I made a new picture this morning:

Bane, the desert mando is not bad, although I don't know what he's doing in the desert. I'm not really sold on the blur though. It feels more like an earthquake than motion blur.

And I'm not sure if that last picture can be considered SW photography... Seems like it would fit better into the Licensed photography thread. Nice idea though!

The land around the Mandalorian capital of Sundari is desert.

But it has EP-III Ani frying up some delicious fish in the background for Doc Ock to munch on!

Perhaps, but we still don't know what he is doing there.

I know. I'm just saying that it has more Licensed and Creator Lego than SW Lego in it. Whatever though.

Well, that's not very nice. And it certainly isn't Lego Star Wars Photography. :sceptic:

I don't deny it.

Perhaps it is Concordia. The ground is more tan there, and the terrain is rockier.

The desert around Sundari is one of white sand.

Perhaps, but we still don't know what he is doing there.

If it is Sundari, likely another failed assassination attempt on Duchess Satine.

If it is Concordia, perhaps a patrol?

(The word "Balutar" is derived from a Mando'a phrase meaning "On Patrol".)

What he's doing? He's riding a speederbike, don't you see it?

Do you need a background story for every single shot or what? I wanted to stage a Mando in a random Desert. That's all.

- Doc Ocks hairs are from Anakin (I didn't found the original one)

- Spiderman's head is from Mace Windu

- Anakin is in the background

- The story is based on SW

'nuff said :sadnew:

Geez, I was only joking around :look:

And I didn't imply for it to be a SW photo.

Relax! I was joking too.

Fair enough. I was just curious.

I said it's fine. Let it go. And I really like the Anakin hair on Ock by the way! It looks much more like the Alfred Molina version than the official fig does.

Ah, yes, now I get your picture! You should add a small explanation to your shots, unless they are obviously something.

Well - actually, I thought the linking to flickr would be enough. I'll add the explanation unter the pics on eb too next time, as some people are apparently too lazy to click on the pic

Since getting my hands on some Brickarms SW weapons I've been intending giving this shot a go. Hopefully this will be the first in a series of pics based on SW promotional photographs from way back in 1977. I'm quite pleased with it, hope you like it too

It is very good, do you have the original for comparison?

Thanks Mr Man. It's sort of based on a mixture of these two...

Obviously not bang on, but I think OK for a point-and-shoot, a window and a shaving mirror (with a plastic sleeve over it)

I wish I'd turned Leia's left hand inwards though :hmpf_bad:

and this one...

Looks pretty nice Praiter. Wish I had some of those Brickarms.

Thanks Masked Builder. The Brickarms are amazing! - I wouldn't be doing these shots or my recent customs if it wasn't for these fantastic prototypes. It would just be rude not to make as much use of them as is humanly possible

I've just added another photo to my post above - didn't think I'd get chance to do another today.

Looks really good (the second one that is). Nice job matching them to the pics despite the minifigs lack of possibility.

@ smokebelch

I really love the stuff you do by placing the figures in a real enviroment...

And I can tell you that a lot of designers at work loved your pictures...some even had it as a wallpaper on their computer.

But what about placing some humor in the pictures...like the Brazilian advertising school students in Escola Cuca did?

Or the Korean photographer Storm TK431.

My 2 cents... :pir-wink:
