smokebelch Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 Thought id bring out the Bonsai again for a Rebel Commandos shot Quote
-JD- Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 Wow. That is very good smokebelch! You have a lot of good weather! Speaking of which, maybe you could try something in the rain? I know about the camera getting wet, but I am sure you have an umbrella. I may have a go at that myself actually, because rain is very common in the Midlands. Quote
prateek Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 That looks amazing! The underbrush makes it look like Endor Quote
RileyC Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 cool shots Smokebelch. I always love your shots they always make me laugh Quote

They look like they're on Cristophis. (Or any other wrecked planet.) Quote
Commander_Rob Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 @smokebelch: Man, that looks great, I`ll be getting these figs soon, so I`ll also be doing some shots with them. Too bad the trees in my garden look more like Kashyyyk than Endor. Anyway, I´m not sure wether I remember anything like that but have you ever done any pictures with Ewoks? These new ones might look pretty good together with those Rebels. @ThePenguin: Interesting, I already saw these pictures on Brickshelf before I came here today. However, what is that background you have there, is it from some kind of tabletop game? Quote
The Penguin Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Great! They look like they're on Cristophis. (Or any other wrecked planet.) Thank you! ) Well, I didn't have any particular planet in mind when I was taking those pictures. ) Perhaps, It can be Christophsis, say, in winter. ) Mygeeto Good pictures Penguin Thank you. ) Yes, why not? ) @ThePenguin: Interesting, I already saw these pictures on Brickshelf before I came here today. However, what is that background you have there, is it from some kind of tabletop game? Thank you. ) Yes, I used to be a big Warhammer 40K fan, so I just came across some of my old scenery, I used to make. ) I thought it might look pretty nice that way. ) Good day, gentlemen. ) Quote

fenris Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 A new shot of my shadowtrooper team called "out of the dark".. a team-leader with a sniper and an anti-tank soldier.. A problem with this "dark" shots is that you never know how "dark" they appear strongly depending on your screen settings. I have two monitors and the shot looks quite different on each of them... Quote
Commander_Rob Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 (edited) That picture looks pretty dark for me but it is alright, if a picture looks too dark you could still brighten it up with photo editing. I took some Endor-themed ones, both pretty similar in layout and conception. -I have a bad feeling about this. -I don`t know what you mean. -Unit 473 on sentry position, where are those `savage locals`? It is damn quiet round here. So much, still waiting to get a new camera, I borrowed one for these. Edited November 27, 2009 by Commander_Rob Quote

Yeah its hard with dark shots, as they can vary so much with diff monitors- i like this one though, does look very dark, but that suits the photo well I took some Endor-themed ones, both pretty similar in layout and conception. Like the Ewok on the AT-ST Here's a quick shot of the emperor- i did this exact same shot ages ago with my Kubrick version of Palpatine, thought id recreate it with the Lego Version! Quote
RileyC Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 wow great shot Smokebelch! The emperor looks so menacing with the electricity pieces Great work as always! Quote
Skipper 24 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 @Commander_Rob: I like your pics but I think they could be better it perhaps the ground (1st pic) wasn't your garden table or whatever that was. It doesn't look very natural for Endor although the green foliage is good. On your second pic I like how the foreground id focused and then the ewok is slightly blurry. However your house can been seen poking through at the back. @Smokebelch: The Emperor looks really evil in this. It's great how you lit up the lightning. Quote
Torax Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 "This video is not available in your country due to copyright restrictions." - That's what it says when I try to watch the video related to "OK, one last time. These are small... but the ones out there are far away", on Flickr. What country do I have to move to in order to watch it?? I still get it though, and it is really clever. I also love your photography, it is awesome. Quote
fenris Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 @commander rob: my picture is dark - and it's meant to be like that. shadow trooper shouldn't be in the sunlight too much... if it's too dark, it's because of different screen settings. your endor shots are nice. it's hard to take shoots in the sun, specially with white minifigs but with "plastic" in general. i like the idea of the "hidden" ewok in the first pic. as already stated you should avoid houses, tables and other real stuff in your pictures and maybe clean your minifigs before taking them to a photo shooting... @smokebelch: great work as usual, great effect with the "lightning"... and the 3 different colours with the chrome-stormies are great. specially all 3 togehter... fenris Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Hi all, yesterday i had some time and took lord vader out of my ikea-sammla-box for a little photo shooting. The chrome one, tricky to shoot, but nice if it works. I figured out some new tactics against my all-time-chrome-vader-photoshooting-enemy "reflection of unwanted objects" (e.g. me, my kitchen table, the camera, my cat, my hand,... and plenty more...) and thats the result: hope you like it! smokebelch Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 Quick shot after picking up my mini-tie today- ^^^^ "These Imperial cut-backs are getting freakin' ridiculous!" Quote
pedro Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 (edited) Awesome image smokebelch! Your photography has got such a clean, crisp look to it that I really like. The strong ligting technique really works to that advantage. Nice one! Your humour isn't too bad either Edited September 7, 2009 by pedro Quote
fenris Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 @smokebelch: what are you using as background? a white sheet of paper? i like the coulour.. fading to grey... great job with the light! Quote
