Brickus Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 That's excellent, fenris, easily one of your best shots. Quote
JimBee Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Spearhead This one just blew me away! IMO, this is the best shot of yours so far. Simply amazing. Quote
RileyC Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 wow the reflection is just incredible! Terrific Shot again! Quote
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 (edited) I was playing around today with focusing and...(courtesy of my new Canon 300D dSLR) you may say, "CloneCommanderDelta7 with a camera!? Oh please!" Well I may dissappoint you, ill-wishful thinkers as I may please some of you, of course, Smokebelch and Fenris have risen the bar so high. Slasher in front of the 'Demolisher' while on duty in the Outer Rim. Slasher about to be evac-ed. And a UAV about to fire a 'Predator' missile at the AAT. "Hot Damn!" I have multiple shots of each section, especially the evac pic which is refocused. Curious? Then click the link in my sig and enjoy! Are you thinking, "CloneCommanderDelta7 with a camera?! NO, OH GOD NO!!!" or "Yeah sure. Whatever." or "Me likey!!" Edited February 13, 2010 by CloneCommanderDelta7 Quote
Brickus Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Those aren't too bad CloneCommanderDelta7, the focus on your camera works very well. Quote
501st Commando Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Today I took these, and I think they came out quite well for my first outdoor Lego shots. C@C are welcome. Quote
Bobskink Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Those are really good pictures. Somehow they capture the same feeling as the movie. Especially the first picture. Quote
Brickus Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Those are some really good outdoor shots 501st Commando. Quote
501st Commando Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Another shot I took today. I'm pleased with how it came out, but I wish the branch wasn't in the way. C@C are welcome. Quote
Commander_Rob Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Great photos everybody! I feel I ought to contribute something again, but with the weather here being as rubbish as elsewhere, I have to feed on old stuff: Here's two pictures of the (sadly not exactly Star Wars-related) M-8 droid: Quote
smokebelch Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 Nice shots 501st- great work for your first location shots Good angle on the first couple of shots- if i were to offer any advice it'd be to check the macro settings on your camera, the shots are ever so slightly out of focus. Other than that though top stuff- keep em coming! Cool shots Rob- love the setting. I hear ya on the weather front!- went out the other day to get some landspeeder shots but by the time id got to the location the sun had gone and rain clouds had moved in... oh well will have to wait for another day- got some time off this week and want to get some location shots done Here's one quick new one- Just playin around with the light from my mouse to light Vader again- think my older shot of this worked better, but used the Chromed Vader for this one. Usually like my shots nice and crisp but kinda liked the grungy feel and how the light flares came out Quote
Brickus Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 That's excellent smokebelch, and another good Taun Taun shot 501st. Quote
CommanderFox Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Love the new shots everbody! I like your Hoth shots 501st Commando. Nice shots of your custom clones Delta! And nice M-8 shots Rob. But I think Smoky's shot of vader is the best! Nice job guys, keeep em coming! CommanderFox Quote
John31388 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Love the tauntaun pics. Nice pics of the m-8, I love the vader pic the red light just caputers the dark side feel to Lord Vader I can't wait to see more pics from everyone, you all so creative. Quote
prateek Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Oh no! Vader's mouth is glowing! Great job smokebelch Quote
gotoAndLego Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 In honor of Valenties Day, it the classic Leia/Marion/Indy love triangle. Quote
Commander_Rob Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Thanks very much, smokebelch, CommanderFox, John31388 and nice picture gotoAndLego. That Vader picture is really cool smokebelch, though I think the reflection on the "mouth" distracts a bit too much from the overall image. Anyway, as I don't usually do a lot of pictures with any kind of setups (the backgrounds in the M-8 pics were a radar dish and a cut-open jet engine respectively), I can only guess how hard it is to get a picture this good with all the lighting and stuff right. Because the weather is still as bad (overcast, cold, snow still here), I decided to make use of that, even though I'm getting a little tired of the Hoth pictures. For these, there is even a little story: Red 7 was one of the first casualties the Rebels experienced on Hoth. The Speeder, along with its two crewmembers, was lost in a snowstorm only two day after Rebel transports arrived on Hoth. This, along with more losses during the following days, led to a number of adaptions made to the Rebel speeders. Red 7 however was missing until two days before Battle of Hoth when it was discovered by a Rebel Patrol. The pilot was killed upon impact, while the gunner managed to escape the crashed vehicle. The patrol yet has to find his frozen body. Quote
RoryoCox Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Those are great Commander Rob. The snowspeeder looks great with the figures placed brilliantly. All you need now is a giant At-At foot crushing down on it. Quote
CommanderFox Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Great shots Rob! The snowspeeder looks great! All you need now is a giant At-At foot crushing down on it. Agreed! CommanderFox Quote
Commander Flash Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Great looking picture Rob! Everything is perfectly placed, especially the trooper helping the pilot out. Winter sure fuels some great pictures. Quote
RileyC Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Great shots both smokebelch and C_Rob. Im so jealous you get snow in America cause I really do like the snow photos. Quote
Commander_Rob Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 (edited) Thanks very much for the replies everybody, seems that these are some of my best (or at least most well liked) pictures yet. Everything is perfectly placed, especially the trooper helping the pilot out. Thank you for that, though I have to say, that pilot has been dead for months, noone can help him now. Im so jealous you get snow in America cause I really do like the snow photos. Glad you like the photos, though I have to say, while I'm sure they get a lot of snow in America, I got that lot snow here in Germany. I really should put something sensible again in the "From" field. All you need now is a giant At-At foot crushing down on it. As I have an AT-AT and enough snow on hand, I thought I might as well raise to the challenge: Here is a bunch of shots with a Snowspeeder and an AT-AT, in the snow: Oh no, Luke Skywalker, hero of the Alliance has been shot down and now he is about to be crushed by an Imperial walker! But he just made it out Now he's aiming at the belly of the beast with his rope gun, hoping to destroy it from the inside... ...but he forgot to keep an eye on the foot behind him! D'oh! The Rebels however did manage to destroy some AT-ATs. And if they were down, it was time for their crews to run Because the Snowspeeder pilots weren't gonna give them a break now Hope you like those, as a little bonus, here is a bigger version of the downed speeder from the last lot. smokebelch Posted February 16, 2010 Author Posted February 16, 2010 Great AT-AT shots Rob- looks great in the snow Quote
