Are you drunk?

I wish...

Just tired and worked up from finally ending the contest.

Guess it's time to sleep now.

Hey! That's mine, so lay off :vader:

Guess I'll have to change now that you guys have it too :cry_sad:

Haha! Everyone play nice and share the wallpapers

...Or be the envy of all your friends and buy a print of one of them for your wall :grin:

Back on topic- Here's a couple of the new ones hot of the press!

Those are some nice new shots of Greedo. Can we see a pic of your studio?

That made me smile- alas i have no studio, my photo's are taken in an incredibly low-tech way!

Indoor ones are usually just a piece of white A4 paper taped to the wall on my desk, its a great size for lego minifigs- think id stuggle with shooting anything larger though

A few pages back there's a post on how i light em- again pretty low-tech.

Glad you like the shots :classic:

Wow, this would sound bad, if your pictures weren't of an incredibly high quality.

Thanks again for all the comments :classic:

Could you tell us which lens / camara and which aperture and shutter speed you have used.

I've got a fujifilm S8100- only a bridge type camera so it has a fixed lens- have a look at the top of page 4 in this thread, i posted about what apertures etc... i use.

Those pictures are awesome. In every way.

I was thinking of doing one myself, with a broken Speederbike and a dead Scout trooper (take off the helmet and replace his head with a skull) but I don't know if it'll work with my camera. I also tend to suck with stuff like composition.

All i can say is give it a go

So long as you have a digital camera you should have a macro setting, find an interesting backdrop/ location- a garden's always good for some endoresque scenery and shoot away!

The main thing is to take loads of pictures- for most of my shots i can take up to 50 photos of the same thing!. With digital you just delete the ones you dont like- i'll usually only end up with 1 or 2 that i really like. Get as close as the macro on your camera will allow you- for a good sense of scale its worth getting as low down as you can as well so your on the same level as the figs.

Try lots of different angles, just play around with the composition and see what looks best. If your shooting outdoors, try and do it on a sunny/ bright day for best results.

Let me know how you get on- and post the shots up in here, be cool to see em :classic:

New shot from today- was feeling in a silly mood :D

'The Ghost Of Speedy Hollow'

3450640434_5d03123870_b.jpg

The Scout Troopers often tell of the skeletal figure which has been spotted in endor's forests on dark and spooky nights.

Legend has it that the Scout fell prey to some particularly vicious little ewoks- and now the ghostly trooper roams the woods hunting down the little furballs!

Thos photos are so good  that I saved them; is that okay?

Thanks very much :classic:

Perfectly ok to save em for your own personal use. A lot of my shots make good wallpapers so very happy and flattered that people want to save them- just so long as they dont get reposted on the web, or used for any commercial purposes.

New Snowtrooper shot

Nice, as always tack-sharp, but to my taste you've gone a bit over board with photoshopping. All is too blue and over saturated.

Yeah, I know: beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Seeing all the positive comments on your flickr pages I am clearly in the minority.

BTW I have now purchased a 0.5W led light/torch which gives similar effect as your iPod Touch light.

Am now finetuning my technique with help of your advice given earlier.

*so much to learn, so little time*

Used a blue light for this, so no real photoshopping- was going for something a bit more stylised- the saturation mostly comes more from how close the light source was and the exposure time. The only editing was a wee bit of contrast adjustment, and framing.

But fair point about the saturation- its quite a hard one to get spot on with the white troopers, and a close up light source.

All comments gratefully received :classic:

Good luck with your new light- be cool to see how you get on- post up your results

Thanks General Armendariz :classic:

Quick Indy shot from today (Bit off-topic as not Star Wars but seemed daft starting a new thread for one shot).

I took a couple of Star Wars ones too, but they didn't turn out how I wanted them too :hmpf_bad:

What do you mean off-topic?

Harrison Ford IS Star Wars...

That Indy shot looks awesome.

One comment though, it reminds me of that scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Indy was wearing a German uniform in that scene. Maybe it would be cool to do it with Indy in a uniform? I don't know if there are green uniforms though...
