Brickdoctor Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Once dust gets on Lego, it's very difficult to get off again unless it is a set that uses the SNOT technique. This difficulty comes from studded pieces and how much they get in the way. So it makes cleaninig the bricks seem quite pointless; the dust generally returns, unfortunately. Lord Embo Yeah. My Venator unfortunately hangs right beneath a heating vent, and I haven't bothered to move it, which is okay in the spring-summer, but when it gets cold and the heater goes on, I have to grab a paintbrush and dust it off every couple of days. That's why I carefully look around my bedroom for good spots where the dust doesn't reach them. But, I only do that because I've learnt from my past mistakes and other peoples' mistakes. I have to neatly get 15,000 pieces organized and arranged near a building area into a 1.5x2 meter space. Quote

Lord Embo Try a small electro-static brush. They do the trick quite nicely! Quote
AoNZ Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 two new ones: Fighting those furry critters (aka Ewoks aka most hated creature in the whole SW-universe besides Han Solo) has 2 golden rules: Rule #1: look cool - always Rule#2: have an AT-AT following you closely I just love the panic in the eye of the Ewok on the left. Run Forrest, RUN! Nice Endor shot Fenris The scale looks great especially with the AT-AT seeming sort of dwarfed in a giant forest. Great work and I look forward to seeing more Quote

Solscud007 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 (edited) Decided to do another Death Star drill to test my lights and tent. Oh a just a tiny bit of photoshop. It's probably another drill. Gratuitous jump the gap shot. Three Pee Ohhhh!!!! Where are you Three Pee Oh? Oh dear! Shut off all the garbage smashers!!! Perhaps a military Target? Dantooine is too far for a proper demonstration. Noooo!!! Alderaan is a peaceful planet!!!! Even Imperial Officers need a break from the daily grind of the Death Star. TRU Death Star branch!!! Edited November 3, 2010 by Solscud007 Quote
Masked Builder Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Very well done Solscud007! Those Death Star shots are great! Quote

But sadly I dont have that many legos. I only have a few Starwars sets, 2 Toystory, and the TRU truck/store One thing I dont like is the mismatch flesh and yellow heads. I wish there were flesh versions of those scared expressions. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Nicely done, Solscud! That explosion screen in the control room isn't included in the DS, is it? Quote

Brickdoctor Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 no. That is photoshop at work. Thought so. So you 'shopped the explosion into the photo on the computer, or did you use Photoshop to make a physical sticker? Quote
Solscud007 Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Thought so. So you 'shopped the explosion into the photo on the computer, or did you use Photoshop to make a physical sticker? The first one. I also added the green laser. Quote
Lord Embo Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Good photos Solscud007, I hope to see more from you in the future. Lord Embo Quote
commdr_neyo Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Great Death Star shots, I love them! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Those are great photos Solscud! I love the photoshopped ones - the red lighting effect in the trash compactor room and the Alderaan explosion view. The 'jump' scene looks good but it would have been better if it weren't for the daylight on the background. But still, those are good quality photos, so great job and keep it up! Quote
