Plissken Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 A lot of snow came down last night so I took a few more shots. The first shot was taken with a flash. It looks almost like an indoor shot. The other three are shot with natural light. Enjoy. On patrol. Up the hill. Quote
KimT Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Nice work Plissken. You really ought to join flickr and add those to our pool on Star Wars LEGO Photography. (check the link in my signature) Nice use of clear parts to get that Freeco up in the air Quote

Stardusty Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Your pics are great. And Speeder looks like it's moving fast. Good job! Quote

RoryoCox Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Okay after getting some free time I have started taking some photographs again- Yoda Yoda's Cheerleaders Boba Fett Easy Escape Boba and Han Another Falling Out Hope you enjoyed looking at my latest photos. Just a few light takes to get me back into it. Quote
MightySlickPancake Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Really good Plissken, General Magma and Burman . @ Burman, the second shot with the clones is a bit bright so its hard to see some bits of it . Keep it up . Thanks, CB Quote
Big Cam Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Quite simple, it's called "sliding floor"-technique. The wall in the background stays where it is. The floor with the stormies on it isn't attached to the wall. You choose a longer exposure on your cam (mine is a Canon 1000D - the cheapest of the DSLR series but more than enough powerfull I'd say - and move the floor with the figs on it swiftly to the left. No magic Oh ho ho ho. You sir have some tricks up your sleeve. I love it. Aren't DSLR's just a world of difference from point and shoot camera's! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Pretty nice job on all of them, everybody! Burman's yellowish ones aren't my favorites, but they're still nice. General Magma, on the other hand, has a bluish tint, but that seem to go well with the snow. Great shots, Plisken, yours have no tint! They could be a little brighter, though. Oh ho ho ho. You sir have some tricks up your sleeve. I love it. Aren't DSLR's just a world of difference from point and shoot camera's! My point-and-shoot has a setting (P, it's a Canon) that allows me to basically set everything it in its simplistic functioning can do, including setting the exposure by asking it to make a photo brighter under menu, pressing 'Disp', and increasing the time. (in seconds) Not sure if that works for you. Quote

(in seconds) Not sure if that works for you. I'm not saying there are not point and shoot camera's, but you don't get the options you do with a DSLR. Can you adjust the aperture, or use different lenses, or change the timing of your flash to front, rear, or delayed response. Can you change your flash, or use a remote to trigger the shutter?? Does your camera shoot RAW images or Jpg's. This isn't the time or place for this particular discussion so I'll leave it at that, but no matter how nice a P&S is, and trust me, I know there are some very nice ones with lots of good options, they are no DSLR. RoryoCox Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Burman's yellowish ones aren't my favorites, but they're still nice. I actually tried to get that yellow tint. An intended 'texture' which I now realise some people may think is as a mistake. I will have some more soon, with any tints Quote

XimenaPaulina Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Nice shot of the Freeco speeder 'hovering' over the snow Plissken (the first one), though the other shots need better lighting. Funny idea on the 'Snow Measuring' shot Gen. Magma! But why do you always have photos in the white and blue tints? I love that 'Easy Escape' photo Burman, very funny and nice perspective shot! Quote
filospinato Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Great shots everyone . I really like all the snow related stuff rencently. Thanks, CB Edit - I have found some stuff I though you all might like. They are not mine. Love this! Quote
CommanderFox Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Loving your shots Plissken! Magma and Burman, very nice shots! CF Quote
Darth Yogi Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Wow! There have been some really nice shots here lately. I really love all the snow shots. Really nice pictures, all of you. Great job Quote
Solscud007 Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Snow hit New York yesterday. I have been waiting for some real snow so I could take out my AT-ATs out for a spin haha. I photoshopped the bkg out. It ruined the picture. snow trooper testing out "new" deployment technology. This is the downside to taking shots in the snow. ATATs are very fragile and while trying to put the legs on the first gen ATAT, the under carriage fell apart. Here is me trying to put it back together again. It was cold. Quote
KimT Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Great winter shots - except you're in the wrong camouflage Quote
Solscud007 Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Great winter shots - except you're in the wrong camouflage haha yeah. But it belonged to my late brother. It is one of the best cold weather gear I got. Its Gore-tex. But im layered with underarmor, desert DPM top and thick fleece pants under the Goretex woodland camo pants. Oh also my brothers boots are goretex. The only part that is cold are my hands. I cant find my water-resistant gloves. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Nice! The first one is far and away my favorite. Quote
Solscud007 Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Nice! The first one is far and away my favorite. Thanks. Sadly there is nothing I can do about the bkg. Trust me, I tried. Im either surounded by buildings, fences and/or trees. Here is the original. Im pretty pleased with the composition. its just the background is an eyesore. hence the photoshopping. Quote

Maybe that's just 'cause you did it so you know where to look. Quote

Churchill Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I didn't realize that was photoshopped until you showed the original. It's my favorite. These are some of the best snow pics I've seen. Quote
fenris Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 very cool outdoor stuff! Place to go A lot of people think that the Mos Eisley Cantina is the coolest place to go.
