I Scream Clone Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Operator? I just love the way this shot turned out from my Plasmo's MOC Rodian in the Shadows Some great shots Fenris, Wayno, WampaStompa, beautiful. Would love if someone could work up a tutorial on the basics required for these type of shots. Quote
General Magma Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I decided to take some outdoor pics today. The outcome on some of them seemed pretty good to me, although the third pic is a bit out-of-focus, but it was the best out of the tries at that one. Abandoned Nature Abandoned Nature by General Magma, on Flickr Abandoned Nature Abandoned Nature by General Magma, on Flickr As for the scout trooper; on this pic he's a bit out of focus, like I said before: Entering the Woods Entering the Woods by General Magma, on Flickr Outside the Woods Outside the Woods by General Magma, on Flickr ~ General Magma Quote
siseon Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 nice photos of the scout trooper, General Magma. The scout trooper minifig is one of my all-time favorites. Quote
WampaStompa Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Hi Guys! Thanks for all the comments, I am really pleased you liked it :) Great work Wayno the lighting in your ARF Trooper shot is awesome and the White Fett is wicked! Awesome work I Scream Clone really love the sign for Plasmos Just another one from me .... Thanks for checking it out "The shroud of the dark side has fallen. Begun, the Clone War has." Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Pretty nice job, WampaStompa. The 'shopping looks good, but it looks somewhat...artificial. Quote
Wayno Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Thank you all for comments & the Blog willybob ;) @I Scream Clone:- Nice photos, You say about doing a tutorial but i guess we all use varoius methods of lighing/cameras and equpment ect, A key to photography is lighing but a heres a good cheap starting point i found worked, LED key chain torches (ebay) also use a tripod for your camera and get down low to minifig height to give good Perspective and most important just ENJOY! @General Magma:- Love seeing shots like this just makes me want to grab my figs and run outside! (still abit cold for me though) Good Work on the photos @WampaStompa:- some nice PP and great shot but have to agree it does look a bit "artificial" Quote

Brickdoctor Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 the background is a picture on my monitor ......... That might be it. The lighting makes the pieces look almost CGI. Quote
WampaStompa Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 That might be it. The lighting makes the pieces look almost CGI. Yes I agree, perhaps if I printed the picture and used that as a backdrop, we may be looking at a different picture Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Yes I agree, perhaps if I printed the picture and used that as a backdrop, we may be looking at a different picture Or if you just used the actual sky like smokebelch does, there wouldn't be much chance of it looking this way. Quote
WampaStompa Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 (edited) Or if you just used the actual sky like smokebelch does, there wouldn't be much chance of it looking this way. Yep there is that , but it was a pretty grey and cold day today so not much chance of that! Edited February 18, 2011 by WampaStompa Quote
