Stardusty Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 (edited) Welcome to the Eurobricks. Shots are beautiful. Third one is one of my all-time favorites. It looks so... realistic! Edited June 1, 2011 by Stardusty Quote
Masked Builder Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Nice work all of you! I really like the shots with the minimal/select lighting. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 By Brickdoctor, on Flickr "Echo Station Five-seven, we're on our way." Tried to go bigger with this one. I doubled the size of the setup as a whole. I think I'm pushing the limits of iPod lighting with something this size. Quote

However the snow looks a little deap to be on the inside, it looks at least thigh high at the back. (love the JT head). Quote

Thanks. I wasn't particularly happy with how that shot showed my T-47, so I tried a different scene: By Brickdoctor, on Flickr "Hobbie, I'm hit!" aving a newfound enjoyment of snow photography and a LEGO T-47 is no good if you don't put 'em together, so I'm back with a second shot including the snowspeeder. Masked Builder Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I like what you've got going there Brickdoctor. I really like the way the lighting is minimal, but I do think you're getting pretty close to the limit! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I've just spent five minutes looking at both pics trying to fins any inconsistencies, but no there is none . The camera angle is slightly lower, the left cannon (right from your perspective) isn't bent, the harpoon gun is turned instead of straight back, and there's no smoke coming out. Really good photo as well, the sky is a little dark though. PS: It's Having not aving . MegaBlokin' copy-paste. Just pretend I'm speaking with an accent. I do think you're getting pretty close to the limit! Indeed. I went with a 20-second exposure in order to capture a decent amount of light with the aperture I needed to keep everything in focus. Brickdoctor Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 when did Johnny Thunder joim Rebels ? When his head was included in a soccer/football set that I bought and got thrown in my bin of heads for scenes like this where I need a different head. Quote
WampaStompa Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 (edited) Excellent Work Brick Doctor, some great shots from one of my favorite planets! Over the last few weeks/months I have been sourcing figs and parts for scenes based on Tatooine. I really wanted a few Bantha shots for particular scenes and thought about building them in LEGO as there are a number of fantastic examples out there. In the end I decided to try and create a Bantha from clay in the spirit of LEGO's pre molded parts. It still needs some refining but overall quite happy with the result. It would be wonderful if LEGO produced a Bantha set, as I am sure it would be a very popular addition to a number of collections........ Bantha Attack - Set ???? Vindicare Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Baking soda. Ha, that's an interesting idea. Never thought to use that as snow. Then again, I don't take pictures. Quote

Baking soda and baking powder both could be used as snow because it's fine powdered. Flour wouldn't work well because they don't give smooth snowy texture. Quote

Some people do use powdered sugar as well, but I don't like it because it can create a sticky mess. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Apologies for the double post. By Brickdoctor, on Flickr "This is a consular ship. We're on a...diplomatic...mission..." I'm loving the Captain Antilles minifig. Quote
Ceroknight Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Nice photo BrickDoctor! How is he hanging? Quote
