I need to build this in red and have it in my Silverado! Great work so far :) Would the small AAA batterybox be easier to hide?

I own this exact truck! Your design looks great! My only complaint would be that the bumpers and wheels should be LBG instead of black. In the USA I have never seen a fully blacked out version like this. I realize the inspiration for your model is the picture at the beginning of the post, but like I said, I've never seen one like that on the road. Otherwise, your design captures the actually truck exceptionally well.

The AAA box probably would fit better. Because of my frame design, if I tried making it a "tool box", it would hide the back window.

Using LBG would not be a bad look. The real truck as pictured is a crew cab work truck, which comes with black bumpers, black grill, and gray wheels. The picture is with the all black edition, that comes with black bowties and 20" black rims. However, the 20" black rims could not come on the crew cab, only regular and double.

As it sits now, the truck weighs 4 lbs, 15 oz (2.2 kg). The 8110 Unimog weighs 4 lbs, 11 oz.

How is it going with the truck?

I haven't had much time to do the finishing touches on it. Only had the back seats and bed cover to complete.

I put in the s-brick to drive it around, but not totally satisfied with the performance as compared to Lego's controller.

Ahh. Take your time. Not enough power with the S-brick or is there something else that isn't working? Was thinking of throwing an S-Brick into it to when i build it as it looks smoother without the need for the ir

It looks good, gut is too big... Lego motors are unfortunately not suitable for such big models... :(

Try to use 8878 LiPo battery... is lighter and powerful...

The truck drove around fine with the Lego controller, even over doorways. I feel like I loose power with the s-brick, but it still rolls on carpet fine, just not as good as Lego PF.

when seeing this again i thinki wont need that size of wheels for my SUV that i'm maybe making for the next contest
