OoC: Have fun, Sandy! As a US citizen I feel I can finally hold my head a little bit higher on that front today, so I'm glad you're off to celebrate. A lot of my friends here are off to the city for parades as well! More in relationship to the Quest, Eric gave the Dr. the key to the library!

Boomingham chuckles as the birds fly at them. "Chaps!" he calls to the were-lions. "You're making a ruckus that we're cleaning up! Don't tell me you can't fight your own battles!" He glances at Eric. "I'm assuming these are our fellow treasure hunters? Don't seem half bad other than their cowardliness. Rex, it's up to you a who you want to hit, my friend. Any one of these beasties should be cleaved in two by you easy enough."

Boomingham steps forward and, drawing his Frozen saber, takes a mighty swing at Servine A.

Rex charges forward and strikes at Servine B.

QM Note: Thanks, it is really a great day for equality in the US! Finland will get an equal marriage law in 2017, too.

And thanks for noticing, I updated the last post with the doctor's reply.

"We'll take a left. Heckz boy, use ya magic to destroy the barricades when we come to them. We gotta search the empty tiles for traps before goin through them first though."

Ooc: I'm away at a music festival for most of tomorrow. And I'll be hiking between Wednesday and Friday

Heckz inspects the first tile to the left. As he looks through the magnifying glass he realizes he had no idea what he's doing and how to actually identify traps.

QM Note: Zepher, feel free to post actions for Khorne, as well as the battle order, if he's delayed.

QM Note: A little clarification is in order: you don't need to do the actions one by one for this puzzle. Just give me a full list of what you want to do on the path and how, and I'll calculate the turns your plan will take against the turns the werelions take. Inspecting every single tile may put you behind the werelions even if they stumble upon a trap.

Also, barricaded tiles do not cost a turn to cross, since you need to be on them to destroy the barricade, and neither can they be jumped over. Only empty tiles contain traps. It is taken granted that if you find a trap, you will jump over the tile, and of course you need to jump over holes.

Boomingham bats away the forest critters. "Look at that, Rex! Already proving yourself the only able member of our company." Boomingham glances at Eric, also barraged by forest creatures. "Not our best showing, old chap, but at least we can rest assured that without us Peg-leg and the boy are face down drooling already."

OOC: Wouldn't it be better if I also attacked one of the other Birds and Snakes instead of the Paradise one? I could do a lot more damage using Conspirator or Godricsleif.

Sarge sent Heckz and Periwinkle into the Buried Pyramid along the left path, while the two werelions took the right one.

The heroes moved through all empty tiles by investigating them first (13 turns). Along the way Heckz destroyed two barricades with magic, spending 2 ether (17 turns), and jumped over one hole (19 turns). They also discovered one trap from the path and jumped over it (21 turns).

Meanwhile, the Rakshasa advanced through the empty tiles without investigating them (6 turns). They destroyed one barricade with shovels (9 turns) and jumped over two holes (13 turns). They stumbled upon one trap on the way (18 turns) but got to the treasure first despite of that!

When Heckz and Periwinkle made their way to the end of the path, the werelions had already turned back, leaving behind a group of angry goblins.

Sarge was waiting outside the pyramid in case the werelions won the race. He was not at all surprised to see them emerge victorious with a sparkling gem in their possession, but he was prepared.

heroicaquest130-roroarkblackmane.jpg

"Are you seriously playing it dirty, grampa? You can't just admit defeat?"

heroicaquest130-tontorshaggymane.jpg

"Your friends are in some steep trouble inside there with a bunch of furious goblins. Go help them instead of messing with us!"

What would Sarge decide? Battle the werelions for the gem, or rush in to help Heckz and Periwinkle against the goblins?

Sarge chuckles, glad his plan to intercept the Lions in the case of a defeat had worked. He draws his greatsword, then leans on it whilst smoking a cigar. "You know what lads; I think I'll take you. The mage and the girl are good little fighters," The knight uses his intimidating voice to try and coax the gem out of the lions; "Cmon lads, I've been in the business a long time. Just hand the gem over and I'll say that you lost it in a fair fight. Other wise you can lose it in an unfair fight."

Ooc: Don't worry Cutcobra, I haven't abandonned you just yet. I plan on throwing a Sleep-bomb then taking the gem from their unconscious bodies (And if that doesn't work I'll behave and just fight them, Sorry Sandy )

OoC: Really sorry for not sending the PM, but I have been busy lately. By the way, I've got a Smoke Bomb so should I use that?

Heckz was half disgusted and half scared, as usual when fighting hideous big monsters or a bunch of hideous little monsters.

"Don't you worry Peripoople, I've got a plan."

Do I have a plan though?

That goblin princess looks like she knows some arcane moves.

Those other goblins look like they could use some salads and healthy exercise.

I'm hungry.

Does Kabob sell sweet Kabobs?

Wait, right, plan, hmm...

I hate Periwinkle.

Heckz wonders about the many things in life and how Smoke Bombs are marvelous.

Ooc: Your choice but I'll give you one of my smokebombs in return if you choose to use yours seeing as my overthought got us into this situation :classic:

QM Note: That would be a battle action, and you should know by now what I think of battle actions outside of battles. I'll start the battle after I get back from work.

OoC: I think you're still calculating the free hits on Eric incorrectly? Shouldn't the bird's attack be halved because he's in the back row?

Boomingham stares down at the snake carcass and then at his sword. He grins wildly.

"Not too tough! Eric, come on chap, can't hit the pretty bird?"

Boomingham turns his attention to the Serpivine C while the rest of his party repeats.

I always take half damage, even when I fight in the front row, because of the Boots of Evasion. It's not even necessary to put Eric in the back row :sweet: .

"I'm more in favour of direct strikes. Throwing stuff at my adversaries isn't really my thing.", Eric snapped.

Eric throws another Diseased Silverfish Wing.

Heckz uses a Smoke Bomb

Periwinkle does nothing

Heckz uses a smoke bomb to distract the goblins enough for him and Periwinkle to make their escape. Princess Gobbledegook's shrill screams follow them as they retrace their steps through the pyramid.
