Sarge smiled at Eric as they recieved their weapons "We could topple Eubric with this level of weaponry lad" He gave a shrug and smirked "Hell, we probably will"

He put his thumbs in his belt and leaned back for a moment. "I wanna head to the palace, but we could go through the souk, the holy district or even the dunes. Whaddaya think?"

Eric returned Sarge's smile with a wicked grin of his own. "Eubric will be ours eventually. It's only a matter of time."

"Let's head to the Palace via the Souk. I've got some of this stinking meat on my hands I want to get rid off."

Sarge headed onto the palace district. Before he left, he patted Eric on the shoulder. "I don't see anything I like, meet you in the palace district soon mate"

"Right, see you there."

Eric then walked over to Kabob and took out the pieces of meat he had. "Here's some fresh meat I'd like to sell. Just how fresh it is depends on your leniency towards the concept of fresh. There are no maggots. Yet."

With a disgusted look he surveyed the meat stall. "The sun must've gotten to these desert folks mind if they even consider paying for this crap." The Nord's mind wandered home and the thought of the food there wet his mouth. "Nothing beats boiled sheep's head, some dried fish or fermented shark. Coupled with good Mead and dark bread. These people knew nothing of good cuisine."

Boomingham scratches his chin. "Well, the two who's affair I'm supposed to be exposing are on duty. Let's stop by the Hotel and see if we can't ring out any details there."

As Boomingham walked to the Marigold Hotel, he passed by Cobra Priest Djuvali.

heroicaquest130-djuvali.jpg

"Ah, Sir Boomingham! I almost did not recognize you there. Is that a Royal Rainbow Knight's armour you're wearing? Never mind that, I have been hearing marvelous things about your endeavours around the city. You would not happen to have some rare venoms for me, would you?"

Heckz goes to the Daystar Tower to report the weather.

Heckz had to endure the longwinded Midday Ceremony all over again before he got a chance to meet with Magister Lapis Lazuli again.

heroicaquest130-lapislazuli.jpg

"Master Brutenhal, glad to see you have returned in a timely manner. What is your report of the weather around Salmanda?"

Ooc: Sarge already left for the palace district. :look:

QM Note: That will take you to a different time period than the others, so I'll have to sort out their business first.

Eric's cold blue eyes followed the meat lumps being tossed in Kabob's basket. When the bloated fly queried the Nord if he wanted to try some of his kebab, Eric simply looked down on the salesman. Arrogantly, yet subtly raising an eyebrow, he replied in a cold tone: "No thanks. I'd rather starve."

With that he turned around and made his way towards the Palace District, too. There, he rejoined Sarge, who was easy to spot in his black armour and with his pegleg-induced hobbling stroll.

Sarge idly glanced at his magic compass, wondering first where the black market was, and secondly where the were-panther's mother was.

When Eric arrived he nodded back at the man and nonchalantly tapped his Pegleg against the cobbles. He inserted a health core into his Demonic greatsword, admiring he blade whilst he did so. After fumbling with some buckles, he sheathed the greatsword - it was usually drawn but made a nice "shing" sound when he drew it.

He eyed Eric, and Conspirator, a strange sword, as they go. "Remind me Eric, what was it with you and Reno? 'Except his death, I know bout that bit."

He eyed Eric, and Conspirator, a strange sword, as they go. "Remind me Eric, what was it with you and Reno? 'Except his death, I know bout that bit."

"It's not that I have known Reno for a long time or that I could even be a considered a friend of his," Eric shrugged. "The first time I met him, my orders were actually to take care of him. He had assumed the alias of 'Jolly Roger' and operated from an old slave hold. Obviously, he was a thorn in the Bonaparte's side, who rather keep a tight grip on things."

"Although it was somewhat obvious Reno was Jolly Roger, Nemo and his wife thought Jolly Roger was a separate individual who had taken Reno hostage. When our party confronted Reno, he lay out his plans and ideas. I decided to spare him and convinced my other party members to follow my lead."

Eric stared blankly in front of him. "I thought then, as I still do know, that the Crystalline Seas would be better of with Reno. I'll feel...guilty for his death, even though it is a necessary part of life."

The Nord too looked at the sheathed Conspirator hanging by his side. "I'll make the Crystalline Sea free again and topple the Bonapartes", his stoic features loosened into a wide grin again, "because Hel, who wouldn't want to be free? Better poor and free than oppressed by some stuck-up know-it-alls. When you're free without masters, then you can at least build and shape your own future even if you don't belong to the 'right' House or haven't got the 'right' surname."

"Fortune favors the bold and enterprising."

Boomingham nods, glancing over his shoulder. "We did indeed. One of my comrades, a fellow with a peg leg, should be passing through here shortly. Find him, and he'll help you." Boomingham raps on the armor, to check if it was working. So far he'd only drawn suspect stares and been recognized. "Now, I'm afraid I must go talk to the hostess at the Marigold, try to get a room for the evening."

OoC: Sandy, when Heckz and Sarge were fighting at the Luxor Dunes within the 24 hours in-game it didn't state the weather. Is it the same if I give the Magister the weather from another day?

QM Note: Remember the Basilisk battle? That took place on Day Three.

Sarge idly glanced at his magic compass, wondering first where the black market was, and secondly where the were-panther's mother was.

When Sarge thought about the black market dealers, the compass swirled back and forth. It seemed that they had dispersed around the city. What came to the Lang Suir, the compass spun wildly. Like Nemeshtar had said, the ghost would only appear at night.

It was already afternoon when Eric and Sarge made it to the Palace District. Neither of them had rested for almost two days, so they could sense that fatigue would take over them soon. What would they do next?

"We're pretty bold, we have the swords an everything. Enterprising might be pushing me skillset though."

Sarge swaggered up to the Venomari priest, grinning about his incoming payment. "Got some Scorp venom for ya mate." He presented the venom with one hand and gestured for gold with his other outstretched hand.

He looked back at Eric. "You want your share of this when we get to Eubric? More gold that way."

He strolled over to the Boutique, looking for some talisman, something that might help his affliction. Whilst not a particularly religious man, some favour with Danab might be nice, so when he spotted the prayer beads he bought and equipped them.

OoC: Eric drank from that fountain. Didn't that cancel the need for rest?

"Let's check out the Hotel", Eric said and gestured for Sarge to follow him. Continuing on the same topic as before, Eric asked: "What about you? Where do you know Reno from? Didn't you mention serving under him? How'd that happen?"

EDIT:

Okay, since we posted at practically the same time...

After getting the coin for the poison, Eric stepped towards the Boutique. The Naga had some interesting things for sale and Eric's eyes went from the Redhawk Helmet to the Beads over and over again. The Redhawk Helmet was slightly out of his budget, but he could always loan the money if he really wanted it. In the end, he ended up buying Prayer Beads, too. Because some divine protection is always handy to keep you on the winning side.

Before handing over the money, though, Eric joked: "Any chance for a bulk discount?"

"Master Brutenhal, glad to see you have returned in a timely manner. What is your report of the weather around Salmanda?"

"Well, the desert was very hot, like me, but it was dry too, like... whatever. The bog was lush and humid, like my women. And last but not least, the shore was humid and quite dim. It was night, though, so maybe it was just humid."

OoC: Hey, sorry Sandy, maybe I'm being thick but how do I get the suit to do what it's supposed to (make people think I'm the Crimson Bear). Thought that was in the description/would happen automatically.

Boomingham straightens his armor. "We... don't have to gold at the moment. But I'm here on official business anyway." Boomingham clears his throat, speaking as diplomatically as possible, and hoping his armor might make it more likely that the Almagesta would ask his help. "The Almagesta has come to suspect that two of her other Rainbow Knights are performing... acts, behind closed doors of this very establishment. It seems to be distracting them from their duties. She has asked me to look into things. Might you know anything about it? I am aware you run a business here, your involvement in letting me in on the know would not ever come to light."

The Cobra Priest was pleased.

heroicaquest130-djuvali.jpg

"You found Golden Scorpion Venom! Splendid! It is quite rare, for the Golden Scorpions are at the brink of extinction. Have to collect it while one can, eh? Here you are, gentlemen, 500 gold as promised." Djuvali handed the gold to Sarge, who promptly split it even with Eric. "You've done good, but should you find more of the venoms I'm seeking, please deliver them to me. I'll be around. Venomari's blessings to you!"

Subquest "Pick Your Poison" is successful! The heroes' influence has increased!

QM Note: Sorry, I mixed up Eric and Heckz, since you switched parties after that. So it is Sarge and Heckz who need to rest on Day Four, or become fatigued.

"Well, it isn't customary for me to prattle about my clients..." Despite her words, Miss Lavender looked as if she couldn't wait to get to prattle. "But since you are on official business of the Almagesta, I do have to inform you that two of the Royal Rainbow Knights have been seeing each other in secrecy. He wears green and she wears violet, except when they are not wearing anything, if you get what I mean. Scandalous, isn't it?"

It seemed Boomingham had found a witness to the misdeeds of the two knights.

Sarge leaned back and rolled his shoulders, he sighed and faced Eric. "Back onto Reno, he was me commanding officer when I was a marine, for five years, til his dad died. Quiet bloke, most of us thought he was a bit wimpy to be a captain; but what did we know, Bonapartes heirs don't tend to talk to their soldiers much, and he never got many of us killed." He looked furious for a moment then composed himself. "But he put his life on the line when he lost his eye. Nemo didn't do that. Anyway, if lads like me weren't there to fight for their sorry megablocks they'd both be dead." He said this last word with a very disconcerting smile. "Just like their dad."

With that last sentence he downed a slug of curse cure and wiped his mouth with a small gasp.

He looked at the sky, trying to judge time of day. "We'll to that place in the bog, fountain wossaname. See if we can fend off sleep. Cos we got a dead were-panther, and some black marketeers to catch" he smirked and pulled the Demonic greatsword halfway out of its scabbard, letting it glint in the late sun. "We'll meet with the rest of the party in the holy district at midnight"

Ooc: that's the meet point guys , these sub-quests'll be easier as a party. But I do realise that Heckz needs sleep too. :look:

Sarge and Eric headed for the Fountain of Danab in the Kalakita bog.

OoC: Sorry Sandy for this extra work Sandy, I should've stated my answer to Sarge's question.

Eric held his hand in front of him and refused the coin, for now at least. "You're right to keep it until our business here is finished. It'll be worth more then."

With a smirk, Eric replied to the vendor, saying: "We're not the almagesta, yet..."

"Thank you. I will be sure to come rest here when I have the need." The Crimson Bear bows magnificently and retreats to the street. It is still midday, but he has little idea how to actual accomplish his final goal. He sighs mightily, and then mustering up all of his courage waves over to the two rainbow guards, making sure his visor is down tight. He alters his voice to sound like the Crimson Bear best he can.

"Hello," he says, trying to keep it simple. "Bit early for my shift, huh?"
