Zepher Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Boomingham exhales, and speaks rapidly. "Go to the Lodestar Inn. Tell the Black Scorpion there will be a threat against his life tonight, and that he must, and I repeat must, return to the palace immediately. Tell him I have uncovered all the scandal he asked me to uncover. I will attempt to meet you as swiftly as possible, with help." Boomingham laid a hand on Rex's shoulder. "Above all else, remain safe, my friend." Boomingham prayed like he never had before that Rex would get there in time or that the Scorpion Knight, if ambushed, would find a way to defend himself. But no time for that. With no one in his way, Boomingham took a swift 180 turn and marched right on into the Palace.
Khorne Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Eric rolled his shoulders and strode towards the slums, chest forward and head held high.

"You GOT IT! But wait... We don't actually have any proof about the blue knight yet other than his words, do we? Shouldn't we follow him to catch him red-handed or something?" Glancing through the gates, Boomingham saw more guards stationed at the entrance of the palace as well as patrolling the palace grounds. At some point he would have to take off his helmet, and get caught impersonating a royal knight. Eric rolled his shoulders and strode towards the slums, chest forward and head held high. Sarge's compass lead Eric back to the magic shop, where the Rito, Aunt Kree, was still standing in place at the foot of the staircase. It was now the small hours of the heroes' fifth day in Salmanda. "Back to slaughter more royal officers? One donning a blue armor passed by here earlier."
Zepher Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Boomingham grumbles. "The hit would be enough to prove it," he says confidently. "But let's go. I was hoping to get some additional help."
Khorne Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 "Back to slaughter more royal officers? One donning a blue armor passed by here earlier." Eric scoffed. "Blue armor, really?" He rolled his eyes and then grinned slightly, looking rather mischievous. "I'm not here to slaughter any royal officer. Besides, from what I heard, the man tripped and fell on his own sword." The Nord sighed in a theatrical manner, stepping closer to the stairway. "It's not that I really care that much, but...Periwinkle, have you seen her? She's a blond Sister. A rather young and good-looking Human female who wears blue lipstick. She might be blessed by Danab, but she certainly wasn't blessed with high intelligence. You know anything of her?"
Cutcobra Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 "Ah, my apologies. I thought you were looking for a Circle to join, judging by your earlier questions. The Circle of Tempestas is one of the few global Circles of Magi, dedicated to keeping track of the weather and holding extreme weather phenomena at bay. Alas, if you are not interested, I will not hold you longer." "Don't get me wrong, I'd like to join a Circle, but with a name like 'Tempestas' the only thing you are getting is 50 year old dwarven women as recruits. Farewell, Magister Lapuz Lasilly." As he goes to the well tanned-man with long ears that claims he is an elf, Heckz opens his mouth. "One Nostrum to drink here and a bed, please. And also, your secret to skin care." After that, Heckz goes to sleep.

Khorne Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Eric was not impressed with the Sister's demeanor and returned an equally defiant stare. He clicked his tongue and started to speak. "See, I have this magical compass right here which says Periwinkle is here somewhere, most likely behind that locked door. So, Sister, I have a really hard time believing you don't know anything." The Nord's stare turned more vicious and Eric clenched his fists. "Let's try this again. What do you know of Periwinkle's whereabouts. You don't want this to turn messy, believe me." Eric then turned around as he heard Rex's voice. Seeing Boomingham, he reluctantly stepped down from interrogating the Rito and made his way to Boomingham. In a hushed voiced he said: "I believe Peri's here somewhere and that Sister knows. I don't have the patience for this game she's playing, maybe you can see if you can get the info out of her? Seeing you're way more diplomatic than I am."
Zepher Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 "Eric. Thank the heavens. If I were to run into anyone..." he claps the man on the shoulder. "I'm glad it's you." Boomingham bites the inside of his cheek and whips out his handkerchief to dab at his forehead. For years Heroica had sent him on what was essentially getting a useless box from point a to point b with a few important missions in between, but now all of a sudden things seemed to seriously be on the line. Peri's life, and the Black Scorpion's too. Boomingham chugs a nostrum and a mead, to steady his nerves. "We must act swiftly. You remember earlier I told you of Ulrica, and my belief that Zelda Zeigfried may be in this very city. While looking into this I stumbled upon corruption in the Rainbow Knights. All four are guilty of atrocities to the people and this city. Only the Black Scorpion is any good, and there's a hit out on him at this very moment. We must act swiftly. Do you have cause to think Peri is in danger? If we need to, you and Rex go after the Azure Eagle, and I'll handle the sisters." Boomingham saunters over to the sister and tries to be the most diplomatic he can be. "Righto, hello mademoiselle. Listen, I'll be frank with you, we ain't got time to spare. If you've seen Periwinkle, we need to know. Now."
Sandy Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 "Let's try this again. What do you know of Periwinkle's whereabouts. You don't want this to turn messy, believe me." The Rito clenched her spear with both hands. "Are you threatening me, an ordained Sister of Danab? Because unlike that poor wereparrot, I can fight back." Boomingham saunters over to the sister and tries to be the most diplomatic he can be. "Righto, hello mademoiselle. Listen, I'll be frank with you, we ain't got time to spare. If you've seen Periwinkle, we need to know. Now." "If you are in a hurry, then move along. I already told your comrade here that I know nothing about the novice."
Khorne Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 "Are you threatening me, an ordained Sister of Danab? Because unlike that poor wereparrot, I can fight back." "Oh, boo-hoo, an ordained Sister. You might've noticed, but I'm not from around these parts, so I couldn't care less about you being some 'ordained' person serving some god I don't even believe in", Eric scolded. "So, if you know nothing of her, haven't seen her, then would you care explaining to me why my lead brings me here?", Eric asked annoyedly, while closing in on the Sister once more. "I'm sure I can have a look behind that door there. I'm a free man, anyway" Another grin came to Eric's face but it quickly slid into a scowl. His patience with the Sister was running out and he had had enough. Straightening his back and holding his arms wide next to him, the Nord provokingly stared down at the Rito as he tried to barge his way past her to get up the stairs.
Zepher Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Boomingham shakes his head at Eric's refusal to answer his questions. "Save Peri. I'll be back. If we don't act swiftly, we may lose the only noble knight in this city." Boomingham curses himself for not picking up the Scorpion Knight on his way to the Slums. But how could he get to the Black Market without knowing where it was... maybe it would be best to simply head directly to the Lodestar Inn... Boomingham stays where he is, to see what Eric will discover behind that door.
Cutcobra Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 OoC: You guys have any suggestions on what I could do to help? My personal goals list is already checked.
Sandy Posted September 6, 2015 Author Posted September 6, 2015 Another grin came to Eric's face but it quickly slid into a scowl. His patience with the Sister was running out and he had had enough. Straightening his back and holding his arms wide next to him, the Nord provokingly stared down at the Rito as he tried to barge his way past her to get up the stairs. Rather than taking her chance with the muscular viking, the Rito took to her wings and flew into the night, throwing curses at the heroes. Eric got up the stairs and entered the ramshackle building, where he found Periwinkle gagged and tied into a chair. "Mffk! Hh khm th ffv mh!" QM Note: There will be a few week pause in the quest due to my trip. Sorry for the delay, but you can blame Windows 10 about it. We are not far from the climax of the quest, actually. It has been a long journey to get to this point, but I hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have.
Khorne Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 No battle Rather than taking her chance with the muscular viking, the Rito took to her wings and flew into the night, throwing curses at the heroes. Eric got up the stairs and entered the ramshackle building, where he found Periwinkle gagged and tied into a chair. Eric continued to stare at the Rito defiantly as it flew away, grunting in dismay at the display of the Sister's cowardice. He clicked his tongue and then spat on the ground. "Weak god, weak servants. Pathetic" He raised his fist in the air, shouting after the fleeing Sister: "MEDIOCRE!" The Nord then continued inside, where his anger and annoyance soon fleeted somewhat and made room for delight. A wide grin crept to his smug face. "Mffk! Hh khm th ffv mh!" "You just can't leave the kinky life behind, can you?", Eric stated mockingly instead of untying Peri first. "I'll untie you if you say the safeword first", he then continued, barely able to keep his smile and laughter in check.
Pyrovisionary Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 (edited) Ooc: Have fun on your holiday Sandy You deserve it. I'm sure the much anticipated climax will be well worth the wait Sarge slowly opened his eyes, and stretched his arms up to rub them with a sigh. He got up, hindered slightly by the rigid pegleg, and once on his feet he laughed histerically. His purpose, though daunting, was clear now. He only took a small swig of his medicine, but clenched his fists ever while grinning slightly too widely. The old man thanked the angel and strode out from the sanctuary. Eric faked a look of disbelief and disappointment and said: "Come on, Peri, you forgot the safeword?", cheekily he added: "Didn't our time together mean anything to you, at all?" The Nord then stepped closer and untied the Sister quickly, letting out a soft chuckle. "Now, care telling me what this is all about?"
Sandy Posted September 6, 2015 Author Posted September 6, 2015 The Nord then stepped closer and untied the Sister quickly, letting out a soft chuckle. "Now, care telling me what this is all about?" Periwinkle gritted her teeth and slapped Eric on the chest. "How dare you make fun of me after I've been kidnapped and held in this rathole for a whole day! Those hags gave me nothing but water because I refused to talk. I swear, once the Revered Aunt hears about this, that mangy white-furred mongrel bitch will get what's coming for her!" Periwinkle almost stormed out of the building, but stopped suddenly and looked at Eric, concerned. "You took care of the crazy winged cow, didn't you? Cause she's a whole lot of scary! She's the one who whisked me away all of a sudden as I walked towards the temple, like a bird catches a worm."

With his usual smug demeanor he addressed Periwinkle. "Hey, at least I got you out. Be happy. That's like what, the second or third time I've saved you now?" "What did the white one do? Did she tell you what her plan was?", Eric then asked in a more serious tone. Gritting his teeth, the Nord then answered Peri's final questions. His voice was icy once more and seeping with disdain. "The Rito was afraid of me. She got away before I could get a go at her. Weak, pathetic. A true coward."

You'll always be there for me when things get rough." Periwinkle gave Eric an enamored grin. "What comes to that overgrown poodle, she said she didn't like me running to Ovelia to tattle. I don't she's really a devout follower of the Mother, honestly. She kept mentioning some other name in high reverence, like he was her boss or something... What was it, Searfang or something like that..."

"The white poodle you're talking about, that's Ulrica, right?", the Nord asked, even though he was already quite certain of the answer. "As for her boss, I can't say I've heard of anyone called like that here. Searfang was it?", Eric lied, feigning ignorance. Despite his calm and icy behavior, inside his mind was frantic. "Sarfangr. A Norse diety. The head of Wartan's Wild Hunt, the Wolf who Devours the Moon. A worshipper of his, here in Salmanda?". Eric decided to keep his cards close to the chest and for now withheld what information he knew. He'd need to find this white wolf Sister and find out more. He smiled at the thought of a remnant of home being here in sun-blasted Salmanda. He exited the room, Peri in tow and walked towards Boomingham .In an uncharacteristically upbeat tone, he asked: "What's the plan? Need any help with foiling the Rainbow Knights' scheme?"
Zepher Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Boomingham looked at Peri with kindness and remorse, and bows to the young lady. "I apologize that we allowed you to come to harm. It was my fault as much as all the other's, and I won't let it happen again. I swear to you. If I could accompany you back to Olevia right now, I would, but it is not the time. Stick by us, and we will keep you safe." Boomingham nods to Eric. "Yes. I'm at a loss. Perhaps we should go to the Lodestar Inn and head off the attack? See if you can track the Blue Eagle to the Black Market with that compass you've got, but I fear he's already given the order and returned to the Palace. Don't know how he got here so much more quickly than me."

Stick by us, and we will keep you safe." "Wow, wow, Lawrence," Eric said while waving his hands in front of him in an semi-apologetic way. "It's not out fault Peri got taken. She's a grown woman and can look at for herself. We're not her babysitters." The Nord then shot a glance at Peri. "But you can still stick with us. As long as you don't talk too much." Boomingham nods to Eric. "Yes. I'm at a loss. Perhaps we should go to the Lodestar Inn and head off the attack? See if you can track the Blue Eagle to the Black Market with that compass you've got, but I fear he's already given the order and returned to the Palace. Don't know how he got here so much more quickly than me." "Do you have any idea where the Black Scorpion is now? Otherwise we could just go to him and protect him from any assassins."
