Boomingham watches as Eric charges Ashanti. He had really wanted to be the one to finish off the woman... but... Eric looked to get there first. Boomingham instead wheeled on the Black Market Assassin, attacking her twice from the front row.

Rex once more attacks the Guerilla.

Heckz joyfully watches as the dealer is filled with darkness, weakness and that special touch of bad luck.

"And what did you learn today? Don't mess with my reputation. Or, basically, don't mess with me at all. Especially with those horrific robes on."

Heckz repeats.

OoC: 10 gold, please. Also, I strongly advise you change the crossbow to mirror the SOAH. There's a reason we had to change that item. But that's your call.

Boomingham runs his eyes over the enemies, checking if any of them are still alive. He then walks over to the Black Scorpion Knight. "Get up. We have a deal."

QM Note: But the crossbow is only suitable for assassins, no other class. So it is a different case.

I understand. As I said, it's your choice, but I foresee problems, especially with their AoE and the Cloak of the Red Assassin. Sorry, not trying to be a damper, probably best to see it play out, just offering my opinion.

Boomingham runs his eyes over the enemies, checking if any of them are still alive. He then walks over to the Black Scorpion Knight. "Get up. We have a deal."

Eric did a thorough job with the enemies, they all lay dead at their feet. Periwinkle just finished with the knight when Boomingham walked to them.

heroicaquest130-periwinkle.jpg

"There! All patched up and ready for chivalry!"

heroicaquest130-blackscorpionknight1.jpg

"Thank you, miss... Ungh!" The knight suddenly held his head. He looked visibly sobered up. "You wouldn't happen to have anything for this headache?"

heroicaquest130-periwinkle.jpg

"Sorry, but that is the price you have to pay for drinking day in and day out. He's all yours, Lawrence."

heroicaquest130-blackscorpionknight1.jpg

"I owe you my thanks as well, sir. I can hardly believe Eagle would stoop so low as to send his sister to kill me. We used to be such good friends, back when we were mere squires..."

I understand. As I said, it's your choice, but I foresee problems, especially with their AoE and the Cloak of the Red Assassin. Sorry, not trying to be a damper, probably best to see it play out, just offering my opinion.

QM Note: You can always sell it for gold if you want to get rid of it.

Boomingham sighs and pats the poor knight on the back. "Times change. But it's time that he gets his dues. I believe you said I would be allowed an audience with the Almagasta if I uncovered the corruption, and I have. And I can prove it to her too. You just got to get me to her." He looks over his shoulder. "Rex, you're with us, just in case things get ugly. Eric, you want to make sure Peri gets back to the sisters? And pretty boy, you do whatever you like."

Ooc: You lads are going to have to go through the holy district to get to the palace anyway, why not pick up Sarge, drop off Peri then head to the palace afterwards as a whole party. :classic:

Heckz kicks the dead Dealer.

"Never-"

He kicks him again.

"Ruin-"

Yet again.

"My-"

When will he stop.

"Image-"

The sorcerer kicks the dealer when last time.

"AGAIN!"

He notices that he got some blood on his shoes.

"..."

In a fashion rage, Heckz blasts the corpse's head with magic. Now he's got blood all over his clothes.

"EEEWW EWW GET IT OFF ME EEEWW EEWW NOT AGAIN MEDAMMIT!"

Before reacting to anything anyone said after that, Heckz runs to the palace district in panic.

QM Note: I strongly suggest you follow Pyrovisionary's idea, so we can have a streamlined climax for this quest.

"You have? And you can? How?"

"Well, that was over rather fast", Eric said disgruntled and even somewhat disappointed. "Damn it, that was my last Nostrum"

He picked up the loot and surveyed it quickly, before handing it out.

Loot distribution:

Eric: 150 gold, Grand Potion

Boomingham: 200 gold, Ambrosia

Heckz: 100 gold, Black Market Insignia, Assassin's Crossbow

The Nord then nodded in agreement with Boomingham's suggestion. "I'll take Peri to the Sisters". Turning his attention to her, he dryly and somewhat matter-of-factly asked: "Are you alright? Ready to see the other Sisters?"

Eric didn't pay much attention to the Scorpion's story, but was intent on moving out. Before he could step off, though, the boy mage ran past him in a craze. Dumbfounded, Eric shook his head and decided to head for the Palace, too, via the Holy District, dropping Peri off in the Holy District.

Boomingham and Rex stayed with the royal knight to sort things out, while the others headed towards the Holy District. The Black Scorpion Knight needed a full report of Boomingham's investigation.

Sarge pushed himself up from the step he had been sitting on and stamped out his cigar. Grinding it into the floor with his pegleg. As the 3 blondes arrived he nodded at Eric, and noticed that they had recovered Periwinkle. He smirked slightly, rolling his shoulders back in relaxation. "Fun night clubbing?" he asked, indicating the blood splatters on weapons and clothes.

"It was those poison priests by the looks of it, you lot can head out after 'em when Laurence returns. I got me a personal task, so I'll need me compass back Eric." He would find his daughter, of that he was sure. More certain than he would die. And seeing it had been a long time, he would need the compass.

"Meh, Salmanda's night life is rather calm", Eric replied. He took out the compass and returned it to Sarge. "Thanks for that."

"So, what's the plan now? We barge into the Council meeting and stick it to Ulrica? What support could we offer, Peri? None of us actually saw Ulrica take you and we're not liars... Besides, didn't you say it was the Rito woman who picked you off the street?"

"The manager at the hotel promised me she'd testify if pressed, and no reason she wouldn't. The Crimson Bear... well, you can imagine what happened to him. I think the entirety of the hovels would be willing to testify against him if pressed. And the Azure Blue Eagle ordered this strike. So that's that. We don't have much time, I'd like to get moving."

Sarge readily took the compass and searched for his daughter using it. The word "Please" repeating again and again in his head - a mantra of hope. Murmurs of Ulrica's involvement in whatever passed over his head, as he bit his lip and focused on the compass. Muscles almost shivering in anticipation.

OoC: Can the Black Market Insignia be used as many times as I want?

As Heckz's panic slowly goes away, he checks his clothes to see if it was just a horrible daydream. It wasn't.

"Me damn it..."

As he starts to think of a quick replacement for his blood-stained outfit, he wants to get this quest over with. It was too hot out here and he didn't want any competition.

"So, what's the plan? Who are you searching for, Sass? We already found the air-headed waste of air."

"We can't very well go shopping with a dead woman on your back," chuckles Boomingham. "We'll stop there quickly, since it's on our way. But the Palace is our priority. Let's get going, chaps. Onwards and upwards."

Murmurs of Ulrica's involvement in whatever passed over his head, as he bit his lip and focused on the compass. Muscles almost shivering in anticipation.

The compass swerved back and forth, pointing at different direction. Periwinkle grew impatient.

heroicaquest130-periwinkle.jpg

"Didn't you listen a word I told you, Eric?! Sure, it was the winged bitch who kidnapped me, but she took me into that shack where the white wolf bitch - also known as Ulrica - asked me all sorts of inane questions. Now, will you have my back or not? Cause I'm going in with or without you!"

The two vindicator guards at the entrance glanced at each other, hesitating whether to intervene with the novice's raging or not. Periwinkle had probably forgotten that nobody outside the Sisterhood would be allowed entry to the Conclave.

OoC: Can the Black Market Insignia be used as many times as I want?

QM Note: It is up to the QM's jurisdiction whether it will work when you use it.

"We can't very well go shopping with a dead woman on your back," chuckles Boomingham. "We'll stop there quickly, since it's on our way. But the Palace is our priority. Let's get going, chaps. Onwards and upwards."

Instead of following the others to the Holy District, Boomingham led the others to the Souk, which was bustling with people running their daily affairs. The crowd of shoppers and peddlers parted when they saw two royal knights accompanying a corpse.

"UH... You're better with words, Boomers."

Sarge bit his upper lip and tried to smile. His usual smirk or grin gone. Was his daughter even alive? He shut his eyes for a moment, and opened them with the rage and precision of a tornado. He smiled disturbingly wildly, eyes wide. And grabbed Peri by the arm "Right lass, we're going in." He exhaled and half led half dragged Peri and Eric to the guards. He intimidated them with his glazed look and empty smile "Right lads, you remember me? Last night I carried the body of a sister here to find her killer. Her killer's in there - wolf lady - behind that door you two are guarding. You want to let us in or you want there to be three murders?"

He cracked his knuckles, rolled his shoulders, and grinned the grin of a man with nothing left to lose.

Eric ignored half of what Periwinkle said and with a playful and cheeky laugh adorning his face simply stated: "I'll have you front and back, Peri. Don't worry"

He then accompanied Peri and Sarge inside.
