Zepher Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 "Come, we're all poets in our own right. You with your hammer, me with my words. And swords." Boomingham approaches the folks at the Souk. "Hello chaps! As you can see, the Black Market won't be bothering you any more because they're dead." He points to Ashanti. "That one was their ring leader. Now if you'll excuse me I'll have to be off to the Palace. You may thank me for my service later. Remember the name Lord Lawrence Boomingham." And with that Boomingham leads his party to the palace.
Sandy Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 Sarge bit his upper lip and tried to smile. His usual smirk or grin gone. Was his daughter even alive? He shut his eyes for a moment, and opened them with the rage and precision of a tornado. He smiled disturbingly wildly, eyes wide. And grabbed Peri by the arm "Right lass, we're going in." He exhaled and half led half dragged Peri and Eric to the guards. He intimidated them with his glazed look and empty smile "Right lads, you remember me? Last night I carried the body of a sister here to find her killer. Her killer's in there - wolf lady - behind that door you two are guarding. You want to let us in or you want there to be three murders?" The alarmed Vindicators crossed their halberds to block their passage. Periwinkle then stomped her foot and started to scream. "I demand to see Revered Aunt Ovelia this instant! This is an emergency! Oveliaaaa!!!" The Eubrican sister then appeared on the doorway. "What in Mother's name... Periwinkle, there you are! Where on earth have you been?" Periwinkle quickly told Ovelia the events of the last few days. The heroes confirmed her story. "I wouldn't have imagined Ulrica would stoop so low! Kidnapping a novice to find out my weak spots... The Conclave must hear about this immediately. Periwinkle, come with me." Ovelia turned to the heroes. "You have done well to find her. I owe you my gratitude, thus you will get extra items when your quest is over." Subquest "Missing Novice" is successful! The party's influence has increased! The Revered Aunt disappeared into the Temple with Periwinkle. The heroes were left on the street with the suspicious Vindicators. "Come, we're all poets in our own right. Boomingham and his troupe were hindered by the merchants each expressing their gratitude towards them. "Finally, the streets have been cleared of the rubble!" "Not to mention our businesses secured!" "At last we can fairly follow the laws of supply and demand, and raise our prices accordingly! But you, gentlemen, will of course get a hefty discount." The subquest "Abolish the Black Market" is successful! The party's influence has increased! Pyrovisionary Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 His face facaded with a frown, it seemed there was to be no confrontation with the wolf lass. Nonetheless, he would go out in at least some glory. A comforting thought struck Sarge, and he gritted his teeth happily. "Eric, mate. If I ever shed this damn curse, we'll do to Eubric what we did here - a cleansing fire." He looked at his friend with hopeful eyes, and gestured that they walk to the palace district . "Legacy an' whatnot. We'll leave our mark alright." He unsheathed the demonic greatsword and twirled it in his hands, reassuring himself with its weight, and smiled disconcertingly. "You get the rest of the black market last night?"
Cutcobra Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) Seeing as neither Sarge or Eric where giving him attention, Heckz angrily walks off to the palace district and makes sure to do it in the sassiest way there is. I'm surrounded by non-showering idiots. Edited October 9, 2015 by Cutcobra
Zepher Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Boomingham smiles at the Knight in his full armor at last. "It suits you," he says happily, clapping the Scorpion on the back. "You can drink good, and you're a good knight to boot. Didn't want to believe you'd be the only righteous one in your brotherhood, but it makes you all the more righteous to avoid temptation. Isn't that right, Barty?" The little angel pops into existence and surveys the knight he no doubt condemned a few days earlier for being loud and drunken. "Yes. You have a good heart. Now if only you could figure out how to have one as well as you can recognize one, Lawrence." Boomingham chuckles. "Always with the complaints. Let's go talk to your Queenie, Scorpion. We have some knights to rat out." Boomingham keeps his eyes out for the other rainbow knights. Perhaps they'd gotten wind of the fact that the jig was up, but that somehow seemed unlikely.

Perhaps they'd gotten wind of the fact that the jig was up, but that somehow seemed unlikely. Sarge, Eric and Heckz arrived to the Floral Square just in time to see Boomingham walk through the palace gates with Rex and the royal knight. Inside the palace, the group was guided to the royal gardens, where the Almagesta was enjoying her afternoon tea with a friend. "My deepest apologies for the intrusion, Your Majesty, but I have an urgent issue to discuss with you. Let me introduce you to Lawrence Boomingham of Eubric and Rex the Rhinotaur, mercenaries both." "Ah, Boomingham... He is the one you mentioned, Zelda? But why is he donning the armour of one of my royal knights?" The Almagesta's voice was deep and serene, but something in it left no room for objections. "He is the one, Salome. You will have to ask him yourself about the armour, I haven't the slightest idea." Zelda Ziegfried's grey eyes seemed to peer into Boomingham's mind. Why had the matriarch of the greatest family of wizards in the entire Free Islands posed as a Sister of Danab to get to her hometown?
Pyrovisionary Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Ooc: can we sell artifacts at the boutique? Sarge grumbled angrily when he saw Rex and Boomingham enter the palace without waiting to regroup. He bought a cloak of the grand vizier and sold his jewelry. He tightened his grip around the demonic greatsword, and strode into the palace, fuming.

Cutcobra Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 As soon as Heckz sees the Boutique, he enters it. He does realize that the only working person in there was a slimy worm with a totally out-of-trend dress, but the sorcerer needed new clothes and fast. "Tailor me an outfit that can't be stained by anything now. And don't make it black, black isn't the new black now." As Vipersace looks through his wares, Heckz notices the Prayer Beads. He needs at least one souvenir of this place. "Get me that necklace too! And make it quick." As Heckz walks out of the store, he takes pride on his new clothes. He wonders why he didn't change the old ones for at least two years. He then proceeds to pay Vipersace 200 gold. 150 for the Beads, and 50 for the new clothes. He then turns to Sarge, making sure to show off his fresh new outfit. "So, what's the plan? Can't you make the guards run away by showing them your face?"
Zepher Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Boomingham bows deeply to both ladies. He wanted to discuss many things, but it seemed the smartest place would be his suit of armor. He can't help but smiling good heartedly at Zelda first. "Good to see you, Zelda. Couldn't say howdy on the ship?" He turns to Salome and bows a second time, already forgetting he'd done so once. "It is an honor to meet you, and an honor that you know my name already. There is much I wish to address with you, but I fear I must first start with some grave news. Your Rainbow Guard is drastically compromised. The Crimson Bear has already been taken care of - perhaps it was rash, but the people of the Slums will attest that situation could not continue for a day longer. The Purple Monkey and Green Baboon.." Boomingham tries to remember if these names are correct. "The green and purple chap and lady, they're fooling around in the Hotel. The Manager would be more than willing to tell you I'm telling the truth. Don't really see the trouble with that, to be honest, but they knew about the other foul stuff... so... And the Azure Eagle has been dealing with the Black Market for years. His sister was their ringleader. Rex there has her on his back. Last night he ordered a strike on his fellow knight, Black Scorpion here, who it turns out is the only honest one of the bunch." Boomingham, wined, bows a third time, a little afraid about the reception of his news.
Khorne Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Eric followed Sarge and Heckz to Vipersace's Boutique. He watched Sarge spend some of his gold on a new cloak and grinned: "Don't go spending all of that money, Sarge. There"s 250 gold pieces of mine in there, too" He winked, albeit it shortly, because he face turned into a frown when Heckz exited the shop. Raising an eyebrow, Eric said: "...so, dark red is the new black now?" Before following the other's back outside, Eric purchased the Redhawk Helmet, which he had been eyeing earlier and handed over 240 gold. The remaining 61 gold he handed over to Sarge for banking safekeeping purposes. Sarge now has 311 gold from Eric. "So, we wait until Boomingham leaves the Palace?"
Pyrovisionary Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Sarge smiled weakly back at Eric and shrugged sheepishly. This turned into a smirk when Heckz entered. "Edgy, certainly lad." He rolled his shoulders back in relaxation and annoyance and exhaled angrily. Idiot went on without them, man must have an agenda.

"Those are serious accusations, Sir Boomingham. Have I truly been so blind that my own hand-picked knights could have broken their wovs in such dire ways without me knowing anything about it?" "I am afraid so, Your Majesty. I can attest to..." "Lies! All lies!" The remaining three Royal Rainbow Knights barged into the hall. "With all due respect, Your Majesty, do you take the words of a man who murdered Crimson Bear and wears his armor as a trophy over ours?" "Or those of Black Scorpion, who has spent the last weeks gambling and drinking at the port? Surely you..." "Silence!" The serenity in the Almagesta's voice was gone, replaced by one oozing authority and demand. "My knights, I shall see you in my chambers where we will sort this out. The truth will come out." Before departing with the other knights and the queen, the Azure Eagle Knight turned to Boomingham. "I swear I will get you for what you did to my sister and Bear!" Sandy Posted October 12, 2015 Author Posted October 12, 2015 "I did indeed. The other sisters were looking for you. Seems Ulrica has been making trouble. Is that what brings you to town? Or something else?" Zelda cocked up an eyebrow. "How perceptive of you. Indeed, when I learned that the mother of Ulric Wolfkin had joined the Sisters of Danab and become the voice of the goddess up north, I had to look into it. Why me, you might ask? I actually have close ties with the sisterhood, being a novice in it at one point in my youth. The Almagesta was, too, akin to most high-born girls in Salmanda. That is how we met and became fast friends. I made a pact with Revered Aunt Ovelia to pose as one of the sisters to allow me to travel here unnoticed, and gather information about this Ulrica woman in secrecy. I would not want anything bad to happen to my cherished sisterhood, and I have indeed found out some disconcerting things about Ulrica... Of course, I also wanted to meet my oldest friend at the same time. It feels good to be back after being away for years. Home is always home, you know?" Subquest "Missing Sister" is successful! The party's influence has increased!
Cutcobra Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 He winked, albeit it shortly, because he face turned into a frown when Heckz exited the shop. Raising an eyebrow, Eric said: "...so, dark red is the new black now?" Heckz's happy new clothes face also turns into a frown when he sees Eric's frown. "Anything I'm wearing is the new black. Whatever you're wearing, on the other hand, is something like the new plague." Heckz's frown returned to a smile, except this time, it was a fake one. "Now, one of you said that a man needed some love advice, and who better to do it than your's truly? Not like any of you are getting some." Heckz waves, applies some Heady Perfume on himself and heads to the dunes. His bag of holding also now magically aquires a particular trophy with Heckz's name on it.

Khorne Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 "Anything I'm wearing is the new black. Whatever you're wearing, on the other hand, is something like the new plague." "Efficient at killing things?", Eric grinned. Eric stretched his arms and shrugged. He rolled his shoulders, cracked his neck and looked at the sky, trying to determine how long Boomingham had been inside already. Eric wanted to settle the trade he had made with the beggar at the shelter, but Lawrence had the book Eric needed to do so. The Nord watched Heckz leave and saw Sarge take a seat. Aimlessly, he strolled around the square and fumbled in his bag. Much to his surprise, he discovered two golden statues of which's presence there he did not know. With a frown he took one of them out. For a split-second Eric's face went pale as he read the plaque that was attached to the statuette. It read: "For the best relationship: Eric and Periwinkle". Eric quickly scanned the courtyard, but was relieved when he didn't see the novice around. Like Sarge had done, Eric too made his way to a local merchant and had the Henry sold for 200 gold, before anyone noticed he and Peri had won it. He then consumed (?? however you consume or use a statue ) the other Henry he had left. Strangely enough, the Nord felt more powerful because of it (+1 Power). Being tired of strolling around, Eric went on to have a seat with Jon. He put the bag of gold on the table and shoved it towards the old mercenary. "Another investment", he smirked. Sarge now has 511 gold of Eric's. Pointing towards Sarge's compass, Eric said: "I noticed you eyeing that feverishly earlier. Something on your mind?"

Pointing towards Sarge's compass, Eric said: "I noticed you eyeing that feverishly earlier. Something on your mind?" Sarge slid the gold off of the table and into his satchel for safekeeping - right next to the tyrant statuette. At Eric's indication of the compass, he immediately pocketed the damned thing and bit his lip. "I'm on the way out. This'll find me way back in. Then -" He drew the knife he'd bought from those midgets - a butterfly knife- and stabbed it hard into the table with a thud "Then, all them try-hards back in Eubric. Kaboom." He winked at Eric and grinned with empty eyes. Before calming down and pocketing the knife. "It's for the curse, innit." He muttered downtrodden.

Sandy Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 "Of course. Perhaps one day too I ought to venture home too, just to refresh my memory..." Boominham is lost in thought for only a second. "So what's our move? If Ulrcia really can't be made head of the Conclave... and she kidnapped Peri too... what should we do about it? Leave it to the sisters? Why are we really here, Zelda? Was it just to defeat some sirens?" "Let me be clear, I did not hire you. I merely recommended to Ovelia that she would recruit help from Heroica for whatever adversaries would be waiting here. Ulrica is one thing, for she does not seem to be as devoted to Mother Danab as she claims. My sources claim that she actually worships a northern deity called Sarfangr, the "Wolf that Eats the Moon". With Salome's help, I have been looking into värtlandish sagas, and found out a prophecy about a Wolf King that will rule the Realm of the Moon at the end of days. Doesn't that sound familiar to you, Sir Boomingham? Are Ulrica and her son truly preparing for the end of the world? I am deeply worried what that will mean for Eubric. Secondly, there are the Venomari. Salome has been very concerned about the rise of the cult in the southern Kalma. Salmanda used to have good relations with the city of Addis Vipara, but recently the snake worshippers have gotten increasingly zealous and aggressive. Apparently, they do not approve the fact that Salmanda allows so many religions to thrive inside its walls - especially the worship of Mother Danab, who they regard as the archenemy of their serpentine god. As a wizard, I know about the harmfulness of prejudice - trust me. So I am asking you to keep your eyes and ears open. Djuvali, the Cobra Priest ambassador here in the court, is equally worried about the situation in his homeland. There have been signs that the Venomari will use the chaotic situation at the Conclave of the Sisters to their benefit somehow. Be vigilant, Sir Boomingham." "A man that speaks in that language that always says something stupid like 'Bonjour' and call themselves 'Baron' is a friend of mine and requires my advice. Move." Heckz attempts to enter. The Anubian bouncer blocked Heckz's way. Sed crossed his arms and shook his head in disappointment. "Ah, you must have forgotten that the private beach is only open for customers. You do not have the wererhino with you this time, have you?"
