WARHEAD Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 In the fields the bodies burning as the war machine keeps turning So, as with most of the stuff I build, there isn't really a story behind this guy, I just wanted to use up a bunch of the big silver shells I had sitting around. making the figure look like it has a furnace inside, glowing with an inner flame was also a goal, I've wanted to do something like that for ages now. It mostly pulls inspiration from Privateer Press' Warmachine boardgame and it's Warjack units. I also wanted to experiment with proportions a bit, hence the whole top-heavy look tapering to tiny feet. Not really much else to say about it, he think the figure is pretty self-explanatory. Also, I think this guy is the first creation I've actually extensively used the new 2015 parts, having finally gotten some sets a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, thanks for taking a look, your feedback would be greatly appreciated! Quote
DraikNova Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 (edited) I like it. The head shape really gives it a proper demonic look, what with those humongous eyebrows. The legs and feet don't really work well with the look of the rest of the MOC, however. The feet look like they should be larger, while the legs could be a little sleeker-looking (the shell closest to the feet is especially jarring). Edited March 28, 2015 by DraikNova Quote
Pate-keetongu Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Already commented on Flickr, sweet as always, dark pearl grey colorscheme loosk beautiful with the flames. The "hard lighting" on the photo works rather nicely, which isn't that usual. I actually commented here just to thank for the Sabbath quote; Have been listening a lot of Master of Reality lately. Robin Creations Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Fantastic! I love the shaping of the shells Quote
ToaDraco Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 That is a fantastic looking moc! The head is especially great. Is it difficult to pose on those tiny legs though? It looks really top heavy. Quote
Bigger Fish Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I really like it! Looks like something I would draw. Mind if I draw it? Quote

Eh, people keep telling me I should make the feet bigger but it was a design decision I went with on purpose, I just really enjoy the upper body to lower body contrast and I feel it wouldn't work if the feet were any bigger. At one point I was even considering not giving him feet at all, but having the legs end in points, but that required a stand and more hassle than it was worth. Don't see what's wrong with the shell positioning though, I might have omitted the new addons on the knees now that I look back at it, but don't really think there's anything wrong with the way the shells themselves are placed :T Already commented on Flickr, sweet as always, dark pearl grey colorscheme loosk beautiful with the flames. Mhm, I was actually listening to Paranoid while building this. That is a fantastic looking moc! The head is especially great. Surprisingy not, the feet have adequate heel support and the CCBS joints are high in friction, it stands up perfectly fine in many poses. I really like it! Looks like something I would draw. Mind if I draw it? Not at all, in fact, I would absolutely love to see it! Thanks everyone for the feedback and kind words, it really means a lot! Oh and sorry for taking so long to respond, I kinda forgot I had posted this thread. Whoops :v Edited April 7, 2015 by WARHEAD Quote
