MassEditor Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) The High Council soldiers realized pretty quickly that escape was impossible. Fleeing a losing battle with the Ulanders, the three soldiers ran into a cave for safety only to find that it was being used as an operations center for Desert King troops in the area. Their commander, Meh'nak, couldn't believe his luck when he laid eyes on the frightened and exhausted soldiers. They would likely have much information to share on the High Council's strength in the Nestlands, as well as what capabilities the Ulanders demonstrated on the battlefield. The full MOC, with and without figs: ------------------------------------ Hello! My entry for the Nestlands Warzone. I tried to follow Gedren's description faithfully, hope I did justice to that vision! Thanks for looking! Edited March 29, 2015 by MassEditor Quote
Yzalirk Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Very nice build, I like the contrast between the colors a lot here. Quote
Brick Man Studios Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Love the mountain, love the trees, maybe I think I love all of this creation ;) Quote
Jacob Nion Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Great build! The landscape is superb and I really like the postion of the olive leaves in the trees. Glad you joined the mini challenge. Quote
LittleJohn Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Another excellent entry from you The rockwork and trees are fabulous! Quote
Adair Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 The rockwork looks great! As do the trees, the landscaping, everything! Quote
Balbo Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Amazing  I love the trees and the rockwork. Quote
Graham Gidman Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Great work, once again! Love the use of the bright green foliage! Quote
gedren_y Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Well done dense foliage and rock work. Those relief troops are still having trouble navigating the area. Most just seem to happen upon an enemy. Quote
Kai NRG Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I like how you merged this with Garmadon's story, though I'm rather wondering how they got away from the Ulandian soldiers! As others have said the colors are fantastic, especially the bright greens on the ground! Some nice rockwork as well! Quote
Garmadon Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Fantastic landscape, MassEditor! Excellent job with the rock-work (especially the cave entrance ), trees, and vegetation! Quote
MassEditor Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 Thanks for the feedback guys! Well done dense foliage and rock work. Those relief troops are still having trouble navigating the area. Most just seem to happen upon an enemy. Yes, it appears no one was fully prepared for this kind of jungle warfare. I had originally planned on building a scene depicting the Ulandians and High Council hacking through the jungle, completely unawares they were about to stumble into one another. Quote
mccoyed Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Maybe my favorite build from you. There's a wonderful composition here, not just the colors but the shaping of the entire build. It has major silhouette, which is something you have a serious eye for. I often go for that with my own builds, and wind up forgetting where I started or just failing to account for some obscuring detail by the time I photograph. You're one of the best on GoH for merging interesting technique, high-quality finish, and that special composition element that just makes the production value overall soar. Quote
Robin Creations Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 This is awesome! I love how you did the trees with moss hanging down. And also your rocks totally work in light grey. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Brilliant, brilliant! The minifig posing is good - and the landscape is fantastic. Very inspiring!! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Beautiful build Superb color choices and the cave looks very natural Quote
