dr_spock Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 You can never have enough MOW equipment. I made a little catenary maintenance hi-rail truck for my photo a day project. It has a scissor lift platform. The rail wheel retract for highway road travel. It is a good idea to de-energize the catenary section before working on it. cgarison Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Ahhh.... Jar Jar is having another bad day. He cannot have enough of those in my opinion. This is a wonderful MOC. The centenary design is great and I love the over all simple elegance of the truck. Keep up the good work. Quote
PasDeChocolat Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Nice MOC, I like the massive look of it. Just a little question: with so many wheels, can it actually turn on road travel? Quote
Kodan Black Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Great build. While it is fairly simple it also has all the details included. Must be a Canadian thing to have a truck with the 3 axles out back, here in America we generally have trucks with just 2. Quote
zephyr1934 Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 for as few parts as this model has it packs a lot of detail, well done (both the model and Jar Jar) Quote
dr_spock Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Ahhh.... Jar Jar is having another bad day. He cannot have enough of those in my opinion. This is a wonderful MOC. The centenary design is great and I love the over all simple elegance of the truck. Keep up the good work. Thanks. It is fun to come up and build something each day. Nice MOC, I like the massive look of it. Just a little question: with so many wheels, can it actually turn on road travel? Thanks. Trucks with that many axles may have more than one steerable axle. Something with a layout out like mine would have the last axle steerable. If not, then the last axle or first axle of the rear group of three can be raised when making tighter turns. Great build. While it is fairly simple it also has all the details included. Must be a Canadian thing to have a truck with the 3 axles out back, here in America we generally have trucks with just 2. Thanks. Due to winter freezing and thawing, the ton per axle loading regulations are lower in certain parts of Canada. Otherwise, the roads can get damaged. Besides I had to make use of all those wheels/tires I got from the Pick A Brick Wall. for as few parts as this model has it packs a lot of detail, well done (both the model and Jar Jar) Thanks. Lol, you smoke your workers on the platform I haven't worked on catenary before, did I get it right? Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Amazing MOC ...and Jar Jar is really funny! Great work Dr Spock Quote
