Jreacher Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 (edited) 173D Another one of my favorite ships that I decided to modify. Now this one I turned into and Imperial Ship. Mostly because I have no imperial ships. It now has 6 cannons, a full deck, and a few other things. Hope you like it. Untitled by K R, on Flickr I took your advice and added a yellow stripe to the ship. I think it makes it look much better. Also you will notice in the above pic it now had 4 cannons and an improved deck. More pics to come in the future. Captain Braunsfeld Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Another good modification (and I like the pics on flickr). A suggestion for improvement: The section around the guns is now pretty much black. You might want to add another colour to lighten it up (maybe continue a streak of yellow which is already a decorative element on the ship). Brick on! (Just thinking that we should rename your post to "MOD" instead of "MOC") Quote

BTW I really love your re-make of the Sea Serpeant!! Very awesome ship! Quote
James Wellington Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Great MOD! I really like it. I also see you have quite a Redcoat/Pirate collection. Welcome to Eurobricks! Keep on building. Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Cool...To make it even more like the imperial, i would suggest you to get the Blue sails from the carribean clipper or the sails from the set 10210 then it will be 100% imperial ship ;) Quote
Captain Roger Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Nice MOC, but try to put 6 cannons instead 3. In any case, great work!! Quote
Jreacher Posted April 6, 2015 Author Posted April 6, 2015 Nice MOC, but try to put 6 cannons instead 3. In any case, great work!! I was thinking of adding more cannons also. I think in the future ill tear down the deck and sides and see what I can do. I think I could add 4 to each side without too many mods to the original design of the hull. Quote
Captain Dee Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Aha - another BSB has been converted into a more fitting service! Like so many other Pirates fans, I never could understand why Lego gave the pirates larger and more heavily armed vessels when reality was the exact opposite. It's instantly recognizable (do to it being a MOD and not a complete redesign) and, apart from the solid black on the sides, looks pretty good to me. We all know the striped sails are cartoonish, but the red-and-white works as well here as the blue-and-white did for the Caribbean Clipper from the same wave of sets. This would look pretty good docked alongside the first IFS - or, better yet, giving a crew of scurvy dogs the what-for! Quote

Yea I could never understand why all the classic pirates sets gave the Imperials such small ships. It wasnt until the 2010 imperial flagship came out that they fixed it. Sadly I was not buying lego at that time and missed out on that great ship. The current price of 600 for that ship is too much for me now. Quote
Jreacher Posted July 16, 2015 Author Posted July 16, 2015 I took advice found here and made some changes. The best change to the ship was the addition of the yellow stripe. I added 4 cannons per side, so the ship would be a contender for my SES. I changed the deck, overall I like it better then the first MOD. On the next nice day ill take more detailed pics. Quote
